I'm pretty sure they do.

I have to very much agree with MilitaryVet123 on the first post, unfortunately.
You can't impose someone else's way of playing, nor force yourself to improve. Everyone should play the way he or she likes it. If I notice or see that someone tells me I should use such and such skill or I should rather do such and such, I give a Sh**** on it, because it is very close to my heart to be "free". I also don't say that someone should use such and such skill or he should do such and such (with exceptions if you forget the tank stance or if the tank has low HP but the heal only AOE heals or spams his single/AOE attacks lol). I don't care if someone doesn't master their rotation or masters it 100%, you'll get through a content somehow.
In this sense: FFXIV is for me a place to chill, not to prove himself like one of the very strong here as a good player, you can very well claim with casual mindset and play style as a good player, you do not need toxic behavior or hardcore stuff!
entitlement: the post

they're just being free, my friend, please don't impose your own playstyle on othersQuote:

Here's the thing with guilds like Limit, Echo, Method etc coming over from WoW? I can see the game skewing to a more meta end game focused community. People copying them, and being better players than they think they are. That's my worry
The games content focus actively discourages this, because it's not focused solely on end game raiding. And Square Enix isn't gonna go and hire hardcore raiders to dev their game like WoW did and then hand them the keys after selling to a bigger corporation (no seriously Ion belonged to and ran a forum and guild called Elitist Jerks, Blizzard hired them to basically take over WoW post-Cata). If they do hire any hardcore raiders to dev they'll be forced to stay the current coursel because Final Fantasy games are vision oriented. So even when YoshiP has moved on to whatever he does next after FF14 and FF16, it's likely they won't be able to turn it into a l337 hardcore raider game. I could only see that happening if YoshiP or SE was like "we're making a new FF mmo", putting FF14 into a less heavy focus since it's likely much of the population will migrate there.
This is definitely something to be concerned about. I don't want to see FFXIV turned into WoW II with all this end game competitiveness. Thankfully Yoshi P already said that they would never endorse something like a race to world first unless they evened the playing field by actually enforcing their existing TOS and preventing addons.
