It's an example and you let it go way over your head just so you can prove your "I need my parsers" fiasco. I know how much my thunder does without the need of parsers. It's a shame you are that dependent of a parser to figure it out. If you hate math then say so in which just go fight a level 49 mob and toss a tick on it and kite it around see how much it does. You can also throw up more two dots and see how it goes and so on.

That laziness and dependency is what causes end game environments to go down the drain.

Also, to fix any griefing issues, all they would need to do is include an in-game parser that only shows your data.

You are without a doubt the least informed person I have ever talked to on any forum, ever. I actually use the parser because I love the math. The example you gave of tracking damage by throwing a dot on a level 49 is so unbelievably stupid on so many levels.

Through the course of a fight there are dozens of factors that affect the damage your dots do. Self buffs, enemy debuffs, stat potions, foe requiem, clipping your dots for whatever reason, whether the DoT initial hit even lands 100% of the time or not, how it affects your tp/mp management, etc. Just throwing a DoT on a mob and looking for the float damage that isn't shown in the log to pop up and then writing all that down and adding it up is a horrible way to try and find out how much DoT damage you're doing through the course of a fight.

He ALWAYS trolls these topics. He doesn't do end game and he thinks he understands every single aspect of the game and that we simply don't get it. The worst part is when you prove him wrong he always twists it like "you guys just don't understand what I'm saying." He's frustrating beyond belief and you will never get through to him.

I can completely agree with this. Parsers create a system where the limit is known and therefore the limits must constantly be pushed harder and harder creating a feedback loop. The problem is Pandora's box has already been opened with third party apps, and the only hope we have of equalizing the playing field is to have some type of in game system.

Lets look at the actual facts here:

1. TOS says nothing specifically about Parsers
2. The Threads listed below* are parsing threads that have not be locked, deleted, or warned.
3. The players that say that parsers are bannable are probably bluffing and thus Trolling this thread. They can prove me wrong by having those threads* actioned by reporting them. Its been 2-3 days and they haven't done it.

* Here's the three threads I am talking about. I'm sure there are more, but they are the ones that I know the best. Some of which have been around since before 2.1:

add in the fact Yoshi-P has said on at least two occasions (I think it was two) that they are not allowed. Even going as far at one point to tacitly admit they exist and there isn't a lot they can do about it.

Having a discussion about it is not against the ToS and also isn't a valid way to determine if this is against the rules or not. Having a conversation isn't using third party tools to extract data from the game.

Lack of proof is not proof of the contrary. Just because you haven't personally seen it doesn't mean it does not happen. There are over 2 million accounts in this game. Do you think you've played with enough of them to even know?

I remember when I first watched SAO I thought the scene when all the players were calling the beta testers cheaters and making them out be villains for having more knowledge was so stupid and far fetched. Then I read this thread and realized those people are real, and actually even more ridiculous than the cartoon.

Oh god that scene where they keep ripping on "beaters"?

Yeah...it happens....It really is sad. They aren't on the same level for whatever reason (time, skill, real life distractions, whatever) and they feel the need to villanize people that are doing harder content than they are. People need to look more inward and take some personal responsibility for their situations.

The crazy part is, we don't need a parser to see you are terrible.

When your threat is below someone of the same class, whom has worse gear, and using quelling. You are bad.

When you casting spells/abilities for reasons you should never have to, like blizzard 1 because your oom. We know you are bad.

When you have penta-melded gear with melds that give +0. We know you are bad.

When you can't beat turn 5 / titan / turn 6-9 /ramuh / levi. We know you (or your group) is bad.

Any wanna-be elitist that has to point to parsing data to explain you are bad (without knowing or being able to explain why). Is also bad.

Ban people who parse all you want, unfortunately you'll still be bad. I will still tell you when you are annoyingly bad (which won't be often because I avoid random people), and I won't need /have never needed a parser to do so.
