Yeah, that set seems to work and that was my thoughts as well on Poetics stuff.
That is until I managed to get the T8 head yesterday, decided to push my last Solidiery stuff to 110 (2 pieces) so I could have the "glory" of being 112.
The current set

and if I need more Accuracy I can swap the Astrum gloves to HA gloves.
And T10 went down as well yesterday with the group I was playing with. So T11 now.
We sadly couldn't get our dps numbers, but I can tell you the dps was pretty insane with some help from 2 melee LBs (LB3 + LB1) on the final phase.
My plans is now to save up Poetics for 2 weeks, if T11 seems to be able to go down I'll save them for Ironworks wep, if not, I'll be going for 2 pieces, and pretty good chance it will be Belt and earrings, and possible a ring on the 3rd week.
In reg. to change class, while I do have all classes 50 (except Bard & Ninja) I have no intention of changinig, atm I only have 1 2nd job surpassing ilv.90 and that's my PLD.
So if I changed I would have to farm alot more than I wanna do, Good Coil 2 farm parties are far in between, so getting 1 piece I need on a 3-5 day basis is just to slow.
So in other words, Deal with it or don't play with me.
Hopefully with the JP SE post "we have heard you" equals we'll see something soon to help get DRG a better position vs. NIN/MNK
Fun fact:
There's nothing more satisfying than people admiring how awesome your dragoon is when the general stigma is "loldrg".
Got into a sunken temple HM in progress and the immediate party chat was, "great another 'goon". After melting down the first boss, which they've failed to beat because of the previous drg, they change their tone and I even get a praise "you redeem 'goons, bro!"
I don't mean to toot my own horn, but excelling in a class attached to a lot of negativity, and breaking out of the stereotype feels more rewarding than doing 70-100 more dps on paper. At least for me it is ((:
For practicality though, of course it's still better to bring the better class, which is either monk or ninja.
This is one of those times where I sit back and enjoy the fact that I m a monk. Monk may not be easy, either, but I'd choose GL rotations and ridiculous(as some say) positions over this DRG madness.
Part of the problem I found with DRG and NIN vs MNK is that... MNK, if you hit bootshine while behind your target, but a tank turns it so you hit the flank, it still registers the auto crit the majority of the time. For DRG, if you use heavy thrust on the flank, and the target is turned to have its rear facing you... It never applies. Same thing goes with NIN's trick attack. Can't tell you how many times I have been running my dragoon because I find it fun, and bam, need to use heavy thrust 10 times because of that.
If the buffs put drg more in line with Mnk/Nin then maybe we'll have less nins running around that jumped ship. Sad thing is, you may see more drgs coming over from mnk if they over buff it. Couple things they could do is increase the base damage on 2 handed weapons (which makes sense to me). Also increase the damage boost from HTC from 15% to 20% and bump the potency of drgs attacks up.
Then watch as nin and mnk ask for buffs lol.
Uh, as the weeks go by you'll be able to get away with being DRG anyways. Once DRG becomes sufficiently geared they won't get waffled by magic garbage, and groups won't need the DK from MNK to survive stuff.
If anything, the pressure should've been on you to change now rather than in a week. *shrug*
