No eureka, no deep dungeon, only one dungeon, this thread has never been more relevant
No ultimate in 5.35 also
Even 3 years playing I still need to get a lot done. I've heard of ScottZone but the man has literally rushed the content day 1 since he started. Being a twitch streamer on FF means end game content is pretty much all you'll be doing. Nobody wants to watch someone craft, gather, do beast tribes or etc. Lots of new people are joining FFXIV, which that being said there has to be content increase in all forms, not just end game content. If end game content is all you're doing, feel free to take a break when you need it.
Im just a die hard FF fan thats looking for some change after seeing this same endgame pattern for years now with little innovation (been here since 1.0 fyi)....not everyone is a fan of hamster wheel endgame. If people can protest pointless stuff like glamour we can protest endgame innovation.
If it works there is no need to fix it and this thread has been dead for a very long time. It should have been dead on inception. SE has found a pattern of content that the vast majority of players enjoy. The player base keeps increasing. There is your proof. Ta Ta.
The game needs some horizontal progression stuff for endgame.
Not dailies tho *shivers*
TL;DR if we are talking about lack of harder dungeons then yeah they cut how many dungeons we get for every expansion. Just expect that the next expansion will basically have no dungeons past launch...
I still have more to do than I did in WoW even after getting everything to level 80.
Right now that's a really low bar because there's very few things to do in WoW currently that feel worthwhile. Just saying. Still though, there's a reason that I'm subbed to FF XIV and cancelled my sub to WoW, and while it isn't necessarily the amount of content this game has sometimes, it is just more fun to play. The game has heart, like the devs who help to create it. WoW lost that heart years ago. I might not always agree with what the FF XIV dev team does but they are never going to please everyone all the time. But very rarely do I feel disrespected as a customer. With the WoW dev team...I feel disrespected every time I simply log in and deal with content that feels like it was created purely out of spite.
WoW died after Cata for many people, but designers working really hard every expansion looks better and better as times flies by, they using their engine to the fullest, making zones looks alive and looking cool and unique. (While FF has really great zone design on the concepts, the results are very disappointing, lack of trees, washed out colors and really bad mountains. If you look closer to ShB and ShdB zones, they look very cheap in details, ARR is really good, dungeons too, even Eureka did a better job than overworld zones). Some new gameplay stuff is nice and interesting, some not, this is fine, but BFA is just fail. Story is memes, dead long time ago. Overall Blizzard is different company now. I had really high hopes for 14, but year by year we're getting same PVE stuff and seems like devs don't want to bother with it much, cutting content and not bringing anything new to table (I'm talking about PVE, not RP nor crafting/gathering stuff). Maybe eureka is a best mid core content this game has to offer.
Maybe someday devs grew some balls, try to experiment and ask bigger budgets from daddy SE.
Except they did for Shadowbringers... and the results are still lackluster from the job/class balancing PoV, we are getting less dungeons(if it means they can actually fix the job/class balancing issues that the game has for certain jobs/classes/roles for early leveling, which they probably just going to dumb it down even more), yet we're getting more crafting/gathering content and basically another Eureka relic grind that isn't tied to Eureka Shadowbringers Edition for the entire grind(PRAISE THE SUN FOR THAT).
This is the reason I ended up quitting over a year ago. Not only is there a lack of endgame content, but the only endgame content there is is something you can only do once a week, every Tuesday after the reset. After that, you either gather some friends or no one will want you in their party.
If only they added some sort of incentive to do older content, maybe people would have more stuff to do after endgame.
Let's be clear, making crafting stuff, RP stuff is just cheaper, than designing whole dungeons, making all 3 bosses different and interesting, making dungeon run unique with every run by adding some RNG to it. Too much costs and people don't even want it, better make another corridor with wall to wall mobs pull and some dodge and stack mechanics. ARR dungeons had some ideas behind them, at least they tried during that time.
About money, I still remember when they asked daddy SE some to make a continuation to CGI scene for raids and got warning that they shouldn't do it again. Or how Yoshi begged for new servers, heh, you can see the pattern here. But hey, they doing cheaper RP and crafting stuff, people are happy, so why SE should bother to invest more into game.
Because SE is REALLY betting on FF7:R to be a smash success because FF13 trilogy, vanilla FF14, FF15, and Kingdom Hearts 3 weren't smash successes? Even though ARR:FF14 with HW:FF14 followed after was a smash success, with Shadowbringers being a bigger smash success with newer players with mixed reception on the balance side of things with older players...?
I wouldn't call the FF13 trilogy a smashing success, seeing as it didn't help SE stay afloat. Most people I've interacted with have largely hated it. lol FF XIV almost single handedly saved the company and its reputation. FF 15 did okay, but I do believe that the FF 7 Remake will blow FF 15 out of the water just because of the name. Kingdom Hearts? Yeah, it did alright, but eh. It wasn't that great considering how long we had to wait for it. It comes down to the name, really. People bought it in droves because of what it was. That doesn't always make something good though, and even some die hard KH fans passed up on the paid DLC which is supposed to tie up some loose ends.
Still relevant ijs....hopefully the new eureka is a breath of fresh air though
