Fat tail is shaped that way because tail hole in armor is designed for cat tails.

It looks better with armor on.

Since mine is modeled after an existing pathfinder character of mine however, whose tail looks more like 4, she got 4.

It's been stated in a Live Letter that Raen will have Japanese naming conventions, the jury is still out about the Xaela.

Hair is a darker shade of red / dark blue eye shadow instead of red compared to my first attempt. Also added the scales on the cheeks.

They're both awesome, but I'm a sucker for the fluffy hair on your Raen. The face-paint/eye make up stands out more on him too :)

I probably will. Was just more playing around with the Xaela as an option and wanting to see what people thought. I do like the darker scales, but not the gray around the eyes. It is hard to beat the Raen I first came up with. One minor change I would just do to him though is go with Chin 4 instead of 1, but that is just a minor change. It is those subtle things that really make a look for me and why I tend to spend hours just playing with a character creator. I mean I went through 2 fantasia's on my current Miqo'te's look and I'm still not satisfied. What bums me is that the Raen pulls off that hair cut so much better then my Miqo'te.

I really like the colors that you chose for the Raen, the skin tone and the hair color complement the bone white scales really good. The Xaela on the other hand, looks fierce, brutal. The contrast light skin/black horns-scales makes him a good strong character that i could imagine playing as tank!
The Raen would be a nice mage (black, white or summoner) , but thats just a feeling that it gives me.
So, the first is more the "good, noble type" of guy, while the second is a beast! Now it all depends what is, between the 2 types, the most fitting to the personality of your char!

Is it just me or is that tribal tattoo thingy around the eyes like perfectly fitting for Au Ra ^^°

Your first one's really cute! :) You don't see that hair used very often and it suits him. I like that you went with a colored limbal ring on the white eye too instead of just black (though to those who have used that I'm not dissing it. I love the look <3 ).
