Pronouns???

It's not especially complicated. ultimately you either support people or you don't and if you don't then yeah you are a bad person. It's actually black and white, and you can pretend that you have some deeper understanding of how the world works when the truth is you just aren't a very nice person, and I'm sure there are reasons why you are as damaged as you are but that doesn't make ti right. People can espouse freedom of speech and all that but it doesn't apply when you use that freedom to suggest that certain members of society should be denied things that could make their lives better/easier. The fact is that if your opinion is one that deprives people of feeling comfortable in their own skin then you are NOT entitled to your opinion and you aren't worth shit

unfortunately trans people are frequently not allowed to be who they are in real life, and that's why this feature should be added, so that they can at least be themselves in a video game.

Just saying when someone refers to you as excepting narcissistic behavior using well what I am advocating for is in benefit of others since the way it comes off is as the issue itself is irrelevant but more so about how others view you thus it does come off as a little self important.

Cause I will be honest I hate using the word but your intent seems more "woke" then genuine.

One could also argue that that could lead to people realizing that they can't be living their short and hectic lives a certain way and embolden any desire to change themselves in such a manner, if they could die at any moment, then they might as well spend what time they have left striving to be true to themselves.

But here's the thing. This is a fantasy world, the point of it is to allow people to live the fantasy they want, one persons fantasy might be to be an awesome warrior/sorcerer/whatever, one person's fantasy might be to be a blacksmith or chef in a fantastic world where jobs aren't miserable, and another's might simply to be able to go through their own life experiences without some of the negative baggage that society might have tried to throw on them.

It's not realistic to add what you're asking for. This would take so much time and resources to change thousands or even more text lines that were put there years ago. I'd rather see SE focus on something else.

The fact that people are being attacked for their opinion on this subject says it all, really.

No, people aren't 'bad people' because they refuse to go along with every last little request in a video game. To imply as much is abhorrent.

As I said in a previous post, I'm gay - I bring that up because contrary to popular belief, the LGBT community is not a hive mind. Not everybody cares for the idea of representation everywhere, all the time. That's mostly something pushed, through coercion, by a vocal minority of a minority.

I do not believe for a single second that FFXIV is an appropriate platform for complicated social and societal issues to be addressed. It's a video game, after all.

I hope the development team are aware of the impossibility of appeasing such requests - especially since it never seems to be enough and the goalposts are consistently and perpetually moving in the eyes of many.

i agree that the work required to allow arbitrary pronouns would be too much to ask of the development team, however being able to choose between the currently existing male/female dialogue options separate from your character's sex would be much more reasonable, and in fact has already been implemented in a third-party plugin to the game (as i mentioned in my previous comment).
