Well, you know the old saying.
Hope in one hand, poop in the other. See which fills up first.

Functionally speaking, it very much constitutes as adding a new job to the game. It would require all of the work of adding a normal job since it is missing so much of what makes regular jobs "full" in the first place. And again, big reveals like that are always going to be saved for fanfests or major live letters.
I was being too strict. It would technically mean a new job, but also a complete change to an existing piece of content. Something that they have, up to now, given direct information if it were to happen.
The direction and purpose of the content being permanently altered. It would be like turning Eureka into a giant dance hall where people vogue for killer glam and not giving players a heads up. They came close with Diadem though.
Ignoring the fact that there hasn't been any hint of this outside day dreams, they would give some clear information of their intentions. New job or not.
If I am going to be honest Yoshida is always good at keeping us in the dark and only tell us in a Fan fest or Live letter. So really maybe in the Fan fest for 6.0 Blue Mage maybe announced to becoming a Normal job :3
I highly doubt they would give us clear information I remember how they reveal both Samurai and Red Mage when my friend brought me to the German fanfest. Spider man shirt... XD. They always have full of surprises so really they wouldn't give clear info until the day of the Fan fest New jobs or not :3
I do see what you're saying, but I think this situation is a little unique in that it hasn't happened to a job like this before. I also don't think they would erase the limited aspect of the job in any permanent degree, because as you say, they probably wouldn't want to take content away from people who like it. It's more likely that they'd have a system to allow for both the limited and full versions to exist, this way it seems planned and works as a reveal.
We're just going to have to disagree here, otherwise I'll just be repeating what I've already said.
Its not hope, but despair.
You should be directing that at me, since the REASON I think BLU will eventually be a full job, is because im pessimistic. All MMOs come to an end, eventually. And I know its the absolute best option available, when the game starts doing worse/going down hill, and they dont have the resources to pump into the game anymore, but want to reveal a "brand new shiny job" into a dying game, in hopes of getting the most out of very little.
Nah, I think my above scenario is more likely to play out than not. The only issue being how long we have to wait for the game to really be hurting/dying, and if SE doesnt decide to surprise us sooner. (I doubt that)
SE has done both. SE could treat it as a new job, as it drastically effects other jobs. They could also treat it like a job balance issue. Some have been announced vaguely, in hopes to make ppl not mad, but left vague. Sometimes they announce planned adjustments in detail way in advance. Sometimes the day of the patch we find out in patch notes, w/o even a single mention. And sometimes, we find out with live letters/fan fests, such as the simplification changes to tanks/healers.
It really can go many ways.
