Given who the complaint originated from, I’m certain there’s probably more to the story than just, “They kicked me from the party because I asked for a ride to the NM”.

What you conceive of as her "crimes" is "stealing" portals that actually dont belong to anybody.


being polite about an unfair suggestion doesnt make it cool. If you politely ask some one to not participate in content they literally paid for, for your own benefit, they are not required to respect your polite request.


i mean its better than rudely asking, but the fact is you are asking them to suffer, so that you can benefit.

In =/=within. The clause along with others speaks to unfair advantage or unintended effect for game play, not solely game altering applications. FFLOGs, for example, is a 3rd party tool that is unequivocally against ToS as stated by the team, yet it doesn't change any code in the game.

To be fair, taken out of context Mirabelle's line reads as "I know you have a premade group and I will intentionally attempt to disrupt your gameplay", which is pretty much harassment. But I don't know how this Discord group behaves and how badly are they trying to monopolize the portals. I haven't been anywhere close to BA either so I have no idea how frequently the portals appear.

Base portals appear after Ovni is killed, providing no one is in BA Ovni is on a 20 minute or so timer, and you have like 12 minutes to kill it so the first 48 will spawn every 25-30 minutes as long as no one is in BA. If someone is in BA, the second set of 8 will usually spawn 35-40 minutes or so into the run, depending on how fast or slow the run is.

I don't say this to belittle or insult but most of the posts I see you and a few others make on this imply your views on this subject are very naive. You're saying one side should be less stubborn so the other side can be more stubborn. We need cooperation, not stubbornness.

If you were on a bus and an old lady asked you if she could have your seat because she'd been standing for hours and her back was hurting, would you tell her no, that she doesn't own the seat and you paid your bus fare? No one has a solid claim to bus seats or BA portals, it's a matter of being polite.

"Oh, your back is hurting? Here, have my seat."

"Oh, you guys have a pre-made? I'll leave the portal to you. Good luck."

Though I guess expecting people on an MMO to not act like children is fairly naive in itself, no?

FFlogs itself is not against TOS. Many have admitted to using the "website" to learn from it. Linking FFlogs content here or in game IS what's against TOS. The fact that you can link your discord information in party finder and not FFlogs is enough for that. Why? because it contains info about other players. Just like you're not allowed to link an image here with another player's name. Does that make image hosting website against TOS now? Nope. And the TOS listed the activities that fall under that.

If we followed your reasoning here, we're gonna open up a can of worms. You can report people for things like:

• Having a better computer than yours.
• Using gaming a gaming keyboard and mouse or a triple monitor setup.
• Using a software like MS Excel or Word to organize or calculate something.
• Using a screen capture software to record raids and make guides.
• Watching a Youtube guide.
• Using Eureka trackers.
• Using Mogboard.

No one is asking anyone to suffer. Its just that it can take an hour or more to get a group of 48 players into the same instance of Hydatos that doesn't already have people running BA in it. Most instances of Hydatos literally kill Ovni and then no one goes into BA - no one organizes a group inside the instance to go in, nothing. The portals just vanish and Ovni respawns on his timer like normal.

The only time this changes is when premade groups enter into instances to run the content. People then seek ways to steal spots and pretend they did it on accident, or they just gloat about it. So who's being rude here and trying to benefit more? If you want to organize a BA run with people in your instance, that's totally a viable option to you, but no one actually takes the initiative and does it. The Discord groups aren't forcing people to not participate, they're just trying to get into instances where there aren't already people running and organize a group/community effort. They use Discord because it is easier to handle callouts on voice chat since they can be made instantly instead of there being a delay having to type/macro those calls. (Not to mention BA shares Shout Chat with its Hydatos instance, so its not like you could set callouts to Shout.)

I've ran with the Aether BA Discord all of once for fragment runs up to AV. They were very welcoming, very helpful, and very excited to see people get clears and loot. And I'm a mostly casual player. So I'm not going in with some hardcore player mentality like a ton of people seem to believe everyone running BA has.

There are always going to be bad apples, but I think the vehement refusal to just try to cooperate in a piece of content that outright states cooperation is needed is so silly. And its causing people to defend players who are being spiteful and rude for the sake of their own selfishness. Hell our group was missing an entire party of people and we said in shout "Hey, we have a full party of 8 open to anyone who wants to join that isn't already in our premade." We *still* had people snipe other people's portals despite there being an offer made on the table to allow anyone in the instance to join the premade that was going in.

So no, these people aren't just disagreeing - they're actively seeking to disrupt something that they don't like. That's harassment.

to be fair, disupting your play in this context is playing as the game intended.

this is almost exactly like asking someone to please requeue duty finder because you would like to get your friend in the instance. Its the discord group whose playstyle is outside of game design.
