I've played plenty of instanced MMOs where people still use bots -- Especially in instances that have farming possible. You'd use bots 100x more in an instance because there's really no one but you and your crew around so you're less likely to be reported.
As an aside: People can't complain about population numbers given how much people seem to hate open world content: It doesn't matter how many people play your MMO when all you do is go to your own personal corner of the server regardless.
It does though, because I need to find people to go into that corner. I don't want to be in that corner alone. I want to recruit people and jump into the instance the same way I want to recruit people and hit a roaming NMs spawn point. In my opinion population is needed just as much for both.
i see your point, but how is that any different than the original vague poll question? remember "would you support drastic changes that would alter the rules?" i voted yes then, but if i could go back and change my vote i can assure you that myself and many others would do the same.
my thing is that there should be both types of each. there should be open dungeons, nm's, and strongholds. there should also be instanced dungeons, nm's, and strongholds. different types of people have different opinions on what they want to run so there should be both types of stuff so people have the CHOICE to do the events they find fun. this is a game and the point of a game is to have fun.
