As far as A6, I've seen it done multiple ways. I guess I'd had to say it depends on how good the rest of the party is and their ability to dodge. Personally my static stands about a yalm away from the wall and once they drop, we move to the wall to bait them towards the wall. I prep a proc and save Swiftcast for that time so I don't lose any uptime.

But a BLM could benefit dps by standing in the back and just turreting, but then everyone else needs incredible awareness and reaction time.

Did the speedhackers get banned today? Saw some posts on reddit about bans today.

Until it's proven that SS is indeed 0.40. If it really is that high I'll switch stuff around and actually take a second 230 lore ring over the midan 240 ring. And augmented primal bracelet and I think thats about it IIRC...There was a set made by Miunih (and co) and they had tried out multiple different sets and came up with THAT one. Sadly I don't have the link but yea it was made with SS=0.4 which as of right now is to be doubted. The set above gives me high crit and high SS. If only the set would have naturally 2 more accuracy, I could get 9 more crit out of it. But whatevs.

I only stay put if there's a a wall of mines in front of me. You can move to a pretty good position usually during your Swift Flare and if you get a FS proc, save that to use before your Swift Flare for even more free movement. You can also Manipulate yourself on a random person after they have settled to their place, but that requires a clear way as you will blow up all the mines you go over.

I think most groups quickly find that DPS becomes less of a concern than wiping to watch-where-you-point-that-thing mechanics over and over on fights with little in the way of compelling DPS checks (Cursed Voice and Carnage say hi). Just statistically, if you have like 4 people who can only survive it 90% of the time, that means someone dies on 34.39% of the pulls.

Our tank calls out which side he's going to, and it lines up with my Firestarter/Swiftcast Flare so I just move to that side, we bait then everyone moves closer to the middle to dodge. Do the same for the third, but by the time you're going for a clear you'll most likely skip those dashes. If tank isn't calling out where he's moving the boss to, I can understand why a BLM would want to stay out of the group because any hesitation can get you trapped behind a bad mine pattern.

Yeah this is very true. It does happen from time to time that the tank could call out a side a second after you already made up your mind to go the opposite way and then you're stuck there. As long as everyone has there head on a swivel, normally can get out ok. But sometimes ppl just get trapped. It's a tough fight because it's so RNG.

Hoooo boy... How are you guys going to be deciding between the Relic and the Lore Wep? All that spellspeed down the drain. Was quite enjoying my 1032 sspd, but any further lore purchases and that relic are going to see it markedly decline. Was kind of anticipating going down a bit as my first purchases were obviously geared toward spellspeed, but damn...

With this relic step being so easy, I'd hate not to take advantage of the "free lore" for other purchases. It's just not that easy a decision with so much sspd hanging in the balance.

The Relic at this point in time is not at all feasible, stats are just bad :/
I was testing it once i had it complete, but the huge loss of spell speed is not worth it at all even with my melded gear

Yeah... I think I'll just spring for the Lore wep asap. ESO up the Relic at a beyond leisurely pace... and pray the next stage allows customization.

I would do the relic to keep it up-to-date for when we can customize the stats, but plan on buying the lore weapon. Losing that much spell speed is just too detrimental.

However, if you don't raid and really only do dungeons and 24 man raids, you don't have to worry about stats as much. So getting the relic + other gear would be fine

Oh... I raid. If I didn't, I'd just spend the lore on Ilevels and call it a day. Just can't take that spellspeed hit though. Going w/ the Lore wep next week.

Or Sephiroth weapon if you have should keep you going for a bit, but agreed with Garotte, it's good to keep up to the pace for Relic even if the weapon currently is not of use

If all you care about is spell speed the anima weapon probably won't matter. If we can add materia later on it likely won't come close to the Lore weapons Spell Speed. Taking 100 loss of SpS is a heavy hit.

hello amigos i play caster for my group but have spent 1k lore on my smn book already. with how much damage a8s requires, would it be worth dumping another 1k lore into a blm weapon abd switching to blm? my group hasnt needed the extra dmg a blm provides for a7s as of week 3, but we are unsure of just how strict a8s dps check is, and if blms objectively stronger single target being worth being behind on 2.5 weeks of lore

I can't comment with 100% certainty because I rarely play SMN, but I can't imagine a SMN not being viable in A8S. There is lots of movement and with the adds, being able to multi-dot should be a nice advantage. I think one of the biggest advantages for A8S is Vitality. So if you can get more left side gear, I would think SMN would be just fine.

I would say since you already invested so much time and tomes into your smn to stick with it. Smn has the mobility advantage over blm and those dots.
Also how geared are you? I know some of my crafted and midan gear i can also use on smn :D

It's been mentioned. You basically trade some some secondaries for PIE to always have enough mana to T1 and possibly a couple of extra TC procs through that. I've been thinking about it, but won't do it until I get my lore weapon and put the PIE on that, if I'm gonna do it. Most likely won't go past the two melds for a possible 5xF4.

Yeah... I really do think I'm going to go ahead meld enough PIE to ensure a seamless T1. Don't think I'll go all out w/ PIE to get another F4 though. I just wanna be CRYSTAL clear on exactly how much PIE to meld to make this happen. I've only really glanced at this thread, but don't want to overshoot it by too much with a party bonus.

Perhaps one V Materia (+12) would suffice?
I am thinking slightly more may be needed to notice a difference but questioning if it would be worth it.
When HW first came out and i was @ 60 i was trying more piety and it really was nothing spectacular but may be worthwhile to revisit now

I personally find the pie melding argument stupid. If you're having issues completing your rotation, adding more PIE isn't going to help you. Adding a 5th Fire IV during dungeon runs, may be better, ok. But any raider will find, that with the movement required in raid, there are many times, where you're only able to cast 4 Fire IVs before you have to refresh Enochian. Sometimes even having to cut AF short to refresh Enochian. Having more Piety isn't going to help this. I mean, ppl can play how they want of course, and if you want to meld PIE, then by all means. But I personally think its wasting melds and secondary stats that could be way more valuable.

No... I get it. But being at the mercy of that server tick effects everybody and it has nothing do with properly executing your rotation. I'm not saying I'm completely sold on two materia slots going to PIE to alleviate this, but it's worth looking into.

However, blowing four slots for a potential extra F4 is a definite NO GO for me.

Agreed. Their entire argument is mostly about eliminating server mana ticks that screw us all over often enough. As a blm what is it we always say? Never stop casting. Waiting on a server mana tick not having mana really blows.

I just hit 975 spell speed and I must say... I wasn't ready for it.

Accuracy cap for A8S is 594 for casters.

5 F4 without use of convert under Ley Lines on first wave of Enoch works. Success in Void Ark today. Gotta use Sharp F3 after the 4 F4. Just enough MP for B3 and auto tick into T1 or B4 or both.

Edit: tested on dummy and if you get a 2nd FS proc you'll have just enough time to get another 5 Fire 4's and just barely reset Enoch. And with my usual Enoch set this means I can reach 16 Fire 4 casts as opposed to 15(assuming you run F4x5/F4x4/F4x3/F4x3 without Convert)

To get the most out of a single Enochian chain. Plus it was a experiment and you will always have to consider mechanics. A lot of content doesn't consist of a stand still dummy.

You're not getting the most out of the chain by getting a 15 second refresh when you could start a new one. The first three give x amount of dps, the fourth gives <x, so start over rather than going into the 4th.

The only time it's worth doing is when you know a leap is coming that might leave you without a target to refresh Enochian in 25-30 seconds.

If Enochian is up, pop it after F3 instead of refreshing with B4. That lets you squeeze in a Thunder that you're probably skipping and gives you wiggle room for mechanics and that potential Thundercloud proc.
