It's called a spine, don't use your mother as an evil excuse to try and shame people online. All you do is shame yourself, and I will wreck you in doing it. It's disgusting that you would use an infirm family member that way, and I will happily rectify it. I don't resent her. It's an online forum, and I don't know or respect her, but I will happily go as far as they want to go and then some, so they regret their decision. I'm petty like that because I'm the type of person who will enjoy doing to people who lie like that; if you dont want to get hit, dont do it and tell the truth if you don't like my methods too bad, they are the result of their actions and my own enjoyment in the process.

I even gave them a chance to stop before they escalated the situation. They could have happily ended it there when it was reasonable too. Once they continued my goodwill was gone.

I think SE knows that this game is funded by the crafters, (e)rp’ers, glam and housing - adventurer plates are case in point.

I think they also know their content release formula is working and have budgeted this in order to save the most development cost.

I feel like the game direction will be primarily occasional story updates and then a “second life” style endgame, with battle content taking a back seat.

There's a litany of longstanding problems that many players like myself and the OP have been stating for years. Due to the massive white knighting and toxic positivity in the ff14 community however its only now just become apparent to a lot of players because Dps players and housing, two big playerbase segments got struck at once.

The game has already seen its biggest player count drop off post patch at the end of 6.0, given how lackluster this expansion and first patch is so far.

6.2 is shaping up to be a make or break point for a lot of players according to their roadmap since it will be a test of the devs attention to dps players feedback (since they ignore healers routinely and are now putting trusts in lower levels to mask the lack of healers) and how much effort they are putting into the midcore crowd that is continuously left shafted

They cant chase new players forever. Yoshida and the rest of the devs need to seriously course correct on so many issues

-pve job design especially healers
-housing
-hrothgar and viera. Modders are doing better within 30 minutes
-Battle content design. Difficulty needs to be upped across the board
-Lack of good tutorials for jobs
-clear 2 way communication with the playerbase
-endgame reward systems
-Gear design
-QA in general

While improving the early game experience is a good thing, its not when it removes core components like Aiatar teaching tanks how to position bosses.
Its certainly not a good thing when it comes at the direct expense of veteran players who continuously have to suffer braindead job design

I've unsubbed for a few weeks now and my sub runs out soon. Unless 6.2 shapes up to be good, then thats it for me until they learn their lessons.
I've having much more fun in monster hunter, elden ring and pso2 atm. Support players like myself are much more welcome in those games

Edit: in case folks are wondering, the straw for me was when yoshida replied to my question with "go play ultimate" and ignored teh second half of it

It's progressive , just like many are saying happened to WoW. I kept seeing the devs get passes by people, like "give them time" etc. or this or that doesn't matter. The quality has been going downhill for awhile. I've said this before, but I always have to now emphasize *quality* when I question some design decisions. They seem to have moved over to mass appeal, and we are seeing the repercussions of that. Jobs being diluted, large scale content being focused, etc..

On top of that, FFXIV has a large amount of devout players. They won't bring up any issues with the game, and will, in fact, come to threads like these, or create new threads to try to sway any potential feedback to the devs as just a few people whining on the forums, that the *Actual* playerbase think the devs are doing a great job.

These forums are actually not that bad. Most people are fairly respectful, even with their criticism, and it doesn't really devolve into actual attacks against the devs. People should check out places like Lost Ark forums, or other areas. Where the devs are personally attacked, called names, other users are personally attacked, called names, a constant stream of negative threads that have no basis in reality, people having literally no clue what they are talking about, etc.. Yes, we have some regular "trolls" here and there, but that's nothing.

I'm sure those places are alight right now. Housing actually hits the RP community as well. See, a lot of RPers actually mod the game. So a lot of the issues we have on here, don't actually matter to them much. Housing? Now housing matters.

The devs are out of touch and it's been apparent since the beginning of ShB, especially since they decided to greenlight what they did healers and Phys Ranged.

People can defend them all they want but it's clear that the devs will only listen when it becomes too much of an issue aka WHM and DRK.

Look how long it took for them realize that Living Dead was absolute garbage. Or WHM's lack of healing or control over their terrible capstone ability. Or look at MCH's corpse rotting away again.

They don't care about what the players have to say and would rather do what they think is correct even when it's not (healer design case-in-point).

I've been here since SB and things personally have gotten worse. Yes there's good changes across the board however 90% of those are QoL.

They need new blood on the team because they're letting their old ideals of what balance is cloud their judgment.

totally disagree with you on that one. dont get me wrong i like being able to throw my whole ass into one game for fun but anything you do over and over or spend countless hours on tends to feel more like chores and less fun and can even be borderline unhealthy. people shouldnt be criticized for being truthful and say its ok to take breaks from a specific game though its weird to see it from the company itself rather then them try to milk people for all its worth.
