It's true, I hadn't stopped to think about it. I didn't know about the belts either.
But I am
at this point, they should be ashamed to say that mods are banned.

I'm fine with the lack of hats; the monocle does it for me regardless of outfit.
And the ability to change hairstyles with the aesthetician as a Hrothgar is greatly appreciated.
But I'm still waiting for the promised Hrothgar-unique hairstyles. Unless the OG four are all we're getting. Not a fan of the "Emmanellain fop," only option that's been added I can see.
i wonder if we'll be getting more in 6.2
It'll be very disappointing if we don't get more hairstyles then. There are way too many not yet available. I'm hoping for 6 more.
One can hope that for Hrothgar at least they will have something available with ears this go around. Given how long it takes for them to do things traditionally though I wouldn't hold my breath. Putting out more of the same as the last go around will just create a lot more unhappiness and I would say that if that's the case nothing might be a better alternative until they're ready to do it right.
I agree. It's a no brainer that they would make more money if they made purchaseable hats compatible for all races. Also, if an event item is a piece of headgear, it shouldn't be too much trouble to have it work for everyone. But, I guess the time, effort, and use of resources isn't worth it to them...
I'm seeing more Viera players in Excalibur as of late, so hopefully the surge in their popularity will be noticed by the devs. I don't know how V/H representation looks in the Japanese servers, though.
I'm questioning exactly how much time and effort it would take for them to make it compatible. We are talking about the OCCASIONAL event piece, or iconic hat even. Like, seriously SE?
Yeah, not only on Excalibur, but primal in general I have seen a decent amount of vieras, and that's part of the reason I switched back to one! I bought the new jacket, and it just looked so good on vieras.. I can be kind of impulsive, and people in here really got me sad enough.. I just wanted to be one again! Regardless, I think viera - both male and female - are quite popular, and I've heard that male viera are very popular in Japan. They have to have data showing quite well that viera are popular, but that could be both a blessing and a curse, because they might take that as players being content. If they weren't so limited, they'd be more popular.
We see more Vieras on Phoenix too. ^^
I know I’ll switch back again, probably next month, I know my weakness lol.
And we have probably all talked about this in this thread before. :p
I was a little naive about the limitations initially, even said I was fine with a lot of it. I thought we were getting quality racial hairs in place... I am pretty sure I had the audacity back then to suggest SE make certain shared hairs available ALONGSIDE the racial hairs we were supposed to get..
I will go back to viera if 6.2 brings more hairstyles, probably. I really love my miqo though so it isn't an easy choice. Especially since I love alot of the headpieces released lately that viera can't wear and I don't see them making hairpieces I love from the past work either. I am hoping they add the wavy hairstyle with and without fringe to viera, I think it would look nice on them. I dont remember if they added great lengths yet?
Oh God. That's a coin toss for sure. It might come out fine.. or..
and no hats to cover your forehead.
Viera needs more hair sooner than later for sure AND miqo'te hempen top. Luckily I don't care about headpieces as much. This hair (both ways) looks better on viera (a lot of my fave pieces don't clip into the bangs), and this is probably one of my favorite if not favorite hair for miqo'te.
In Jenova I see tons of both male and female Viera. I think Viera and Miqote seem like the most common races I see, with Hyur for guys and Au Ra for women being close. I'm very happy with my Viera and I actually found my favorite default hair was a Viera hair. I'm always for more hair, though, especially long hair. Leveling red mage now, I definitely do miss hats. Still love my Viera, but my red mage outfit would be so much better with the fancy hat!
Vieras (both males and females) are beautiful, slender, toned and graceful all together. We can make them look a little more mature too.
I really like my Hyur but she misses the more mature look I’m looking for unfortunately.
But like you as a main RDM I really miss hats. I miss them on BRD and AST too. As much for gathering classes ; who harvest in the cold or heat without a hat !?
For the other classes, I’m ok with circlets, headbands, flowers and glasses.
This is why I switch so much because sometimes I feel silly to put Vieras away for just a few jobs. :)
Yeah I think that is the issue with greath lengths: it lays quite flat and vieras need a bit more poof to cover the space between head and ears. The wavy one my miqo has with the fringe would probably fit perfectly since it has alot of volume. I miss my viera alot. But I haven't "suffered" with the latest patches since I switched over to miqo again. Everything fits, everything is seen, my glamours are different. I am not superfond of hats but there are a few I do love that I would miss alot. I have a couple of fantasias in my backpocket though so might switch back and forth a bit lol.
The hair you’re using looks really great on Miqo, I used them all the time when I was one.
As Hyur, I don’t like the position of the hairs around the ears, it makes the haircut look too “rigid” imo.
Since Viera’s ears are on the top on the head like miqo, I think you are right and that the hairs will look great on bunny girls !
Regarding the popularity of races, I don't know if this is valid or not, but here's a supposed graph
https://media.discordapp.net/attachm...026&height=417
That is from the census the devs put out, so it's valid. If you look at the individual numbers for a single race/gender combination, Hrothgar is more popular than female Roe, male Roe, and female Elezen. Makes you wonder how much more popular they'll be when the hats and hair are not restricted, and we have female Hrothgar added.
I mean nothing? In "lore" theres only 1 hrothgar of light, not however many exist in a server.
I know you were likely joking but "lore" is a trash reason to not have character races playable. The neon purple frog lala in your dungeon party doesnt exist as far as the story is concerned only your character does.
The "questioning" was valid, as SE said they didn't put viera male in the game, since in the story they were recluses. If we follow this logic, it was for the female hrothgar to already exist in the game, or else, it was for ONLY her to exist, since males are a minority.
SE proving once again that they only knows how to make excuses and lies. The real reason they didn't put viera male and hrothgar female in the game from the beginning is because they wanted to make the hot woman and the strong man. Change my mind.
And I leave it here for the near future: I don't doubt that the female Hrothgar will be the same as the female au'ra, a sexual dimorphism so great that you wonder how they reproduce.
Ah, allow the wizened wisdom of Spongebob enlighten you:

Thanks for the event hairstyle AND helmets that don't work on hroths and viera, square.
I've said before, viera are absolutely getting roxas hair in 6.2
Will hrothgar? Well...if they can find time in the day to let ears clip instead of constructing a new head model without ears, mayhap. But unlikely.
I really wish they made the neoishgardian hat fit its the best hat design in the game for gods sake.
I think male viera look amazing as they are. I wouldn't have liked it if they had snouts or were buff.
Besides, if you want something that's buff and has a snout, there's hrothgar lol
I don't know about that. I think Yoshi P mentioned he and his team wanted to include a beastly race into the game as there was a demand for such a race. But there was also a lot of demand for viera as well. While male viera do exist in ffxii lore, only the iconic female viera have ever made an appearance, so the team went with female. It just kinda worked out that way.
The reason only male hrothgar and female viera were released was because including both genders of each race would functionally be the equivalent of creating 4 new races. It was all a matter of work flow. Viera and hrothgar were supposed to be the final races added to the game, so the team had to make a decision - one they thought would make the most amount of people happy. The graphics team did not want to disappoint, and tried to appease both groups of people. (And just for context, there were so many people who wanted to play as viera for many, many years. And there were many players who wanted to play as a beast race for equally just as long.)
Nah male viera are fine, femboy representation is necessary, I just wanted to meme.
Miqo'te, elezen, and midlander aren't feminine though. Before male viera were a thing, I always thought there was a lack of elegant male options. So I'm glad we got a slim and elegant character model for males.
And I think ffxiv has a decent amount of masculine looking races (male au ra, highlander, roegadyn, hrothgar, and midlander depending on how you customize them)
I don't really consider elezen an option because their proportions are not good in my opinion, and a lot of people think this as well.
