Still waiting here as well. Pretty confused since the december print for the dutch magazine PU doesn't have any codes. While the november one had the ifrit mask + 30k MGP but there was no official announcement. :/
Hello everyone,
A while ago we announced that we’d try to bring the in-game item campaign to a number of European countries, among them Spain and Italy. With the addition of the new Gamestop campaign for Germany today, we have covered most of them – unfortunately, due to a number of circumstances and despite our best efforts, we were unable to bring the campaign to Italy and Spain in the end. We’re extremely sorry for letting the players in those regions down. We know that the campaigns were a much debated topic within the community, and will take all feedback and experiences gained into consideration for any future campaigns. Please accept our sincere apologies.
Gamestop was a BAD choice! >.>
They dont even sell digital online codes e,e ..and theres nothing else Im interesst in. The next gamestop is way far away >.>
This will not go over well...
You all have my condolences.
What about the Netherlands? :(
Does that it mean that this german Gamestop will be the last EU promotion?
Hope next time have two options in same times:
- Amazon
- big video games stores ( gamestop, micromania etc.)
For all countries and not with a big difference of date.
You can save alot of backlash right now by simply adding those items to the mogstation. Your promotions have mostly finished what do you have to lose?
Assuming the Netherlands wont get the promotion since Germany is the last.
Adding the outfit to the Mogstation would be awesome. If I remember correctly China has it in mogstation, why can't we?
Can you confirm about gamestop that ANY product(s) you buy from them over 19.99€ will make you eligible to receive the promo codes, or is it limited to the Square Enix products line?
Because the thread in reddit mentiones that only the second option gives the codes out.
And it's pretty bad that the codes from there also are only valid until the 31th of December.
This.
As a UK player I am still unable to acquire the promotion items simply due to how awkward and contrived the UK version happened to be. I purchased one of the three magazines required for the promotion and it did not come with a code. Nor did I receive one upon contacting the company running the promotion either. So as a consequence I did not purchase the other two magazines. I figured that the other European countries would have something better and more accessible.
Sadly I was wrong. American and Japanese players had a very smooth and clean promotion. It baffles me that Europe did not - especially when there's a bunch of large companies operating throughout Europe who I imagine would be very eager to do a promotion with FFXIV. Starbucks, Amazon and McDonalds spring to mind as rough examples.
It really should just be added to the Mog Station for around the same price as the promotion items cost or a little more. Many players had no fair chance to obtain the items - making it less a promotion and more of a lottery.
I'm not a frequent forumer, but I was kinda hopeful for this campaign hitting Germany, as I'm from Poland. I was so happy when Amazon.de went with polish language settings and shipping to Poland doesn't cost arm and leg anymore. And you guys went with gamestop... I'm just sad atm, and my sadness only grows when I look at ebay prices, as I have no one to even ask for help getting the codes. Welp, not an end of the world but it will leave me bitter for 3 weeks.
That's true!
I hate Gamestop for my live but you took Gamestop as a partner.
JESUS WHY NOT AMAZON LIKE THE FRENCH CAMPAIGN.
I'm very sad that I have to buy something from this f**ng company -.-
If the Spain promo isn't going to happen, what's the alternative for us Spanish players then? ;___;
So far the other promos I've seen are either from homepages in languages I don't understand (and that will likely not send items outside their own countries), and an English page that definitely didn't mail items to foreign countries.
Basically, we simply can't have these items? There's nothing we can do other than buying them overpriced from scalpers at e-bay?
SE. My tone might not be so nice at this moment, but I need to ask this.
Where is the promotion for the Netherlands? According to someone, the Power Unlimited magazine has only the mask and the MGP codes.
Come on, don't leave my country hanging like other companies do!
Please, we need some clarification. Don't leave the Netherlands laying in the dark, please!
Shouldnt the new PU mag come out today? Maybe someone can check if it has maid/butler codes?
How about telling this earlier so people from Italy and Spain could have tried the French amazon campaign? And seeing the one from Germany...man I should have just done the french campaign..
So its easily doable to just put those on the Chinese cash shop (incl. exclusive Butler outfit for the chocobo..) but its not doable for the rest of the world? Thats not how you should treat your paying customers..How disappointing..
Edit: To make it even better it seems that Gamestops does not know that this includes the online shops too..someone asked them and they said that this is only for the local stores..can someone from SE tell us whats true?
Unfortunately, the Power Unlimited promotion might've been a one-off thing, and not the actual promotion. While the previous magazine issue had the codes for the Ifrit mask and the MGP card, the current issue (which I bought earlier today) doesn't have anything about further promotion codes.
While I'm glad that the amazon.fr ended up being an option for me, after SE took too long to clarify on the Power Unlimited one, it really sucks for the ones who either missed or didn't have the amazon.fr one as an option (due to lack of credit card or other reasons).
So, Mog Station when?
Hopefully after the final campaign is over and done with. They've stated that feedback has been taken into account in regards to future campaigns but that still doesn't change the simple fact that European players have not had a fair, equal playing field like their North American and Japanese counterparts. I, for one, will be doing my part to keep this thread going for as long as it takes. I will remain civil throughout and encourage others who feel similarly strong feelings to do the same.
Heck, it is bad enough some stuff is region-locked.... Stop with the headaches and just toss things on Mogstation for all.
So the facebook page dude of Gamestop told that "Buying any product(s) over 19.99€ will give you the codes. However, this promotion only applies on buying at the local gamestop shop, and not online like it is said on the SE promotional page."
Whaaaat?
After months of waiting for the promo to arrive to Spain now you're telling us we are not getting it??
I would have gone with the French campaign without a doubt if I had known that we weren't getting it in Spain and now it's too late :(
I feel so disappointed... I've wanted these outfits for months and now it looks like I won't be able to get them... I'm really really sad.
What are we supposed to do now?
Out of curiosity, is anybody in the know as to why European players are screwed over like this? WoW, for instance, bumped up the subscription price for UK players in particular not too long ago so it's by no means a problem limited to FFXIV alone. The price of the Heavensward CE was also bumped up for UK players with not statement as to why.
If it's related to specific trade laws/loss of potential profit then it would be very helpful if the community team let us know so we can write a letter to our local politicians in the hope of seeing the situation addressed.
Sadly, it is a one time thing. Shame, but I guess since I'm European, I should be used to getting the short end of the stick when it comes to gaming.
It need not be a one time affair. They already brought it over to America and Europe from Japan despite originally planning to host it as a Japanese exclusive affair. They've done the same with certain items formerly exclusive to the China region. So making it clear that a lot of us are willing to shell out number on the Mog Station for the items is our best bet at the moment. This isn't like the Yo-Kai event were everybody could acquire the items if they put effort in. This is a case of European players being unable to have an equal playing field.
After reading this, I am glad I had the foresight to at least buy the last issue of GamesMaster magazine instead of waiting for the Italian's promo... Still sad that Italy and Spain won't get their own promos. :(
I hope we'll see the items on mogstation at some point but I am doubtful about that.
We're not out of luck. We can band together - civilly - to ensure that we let the developers know that there's a demand for the items in question and that we, as customers, do not wish to be treated like an afterthought just because we happen to live in European countries. It was people banding together that led to European players getting their own servers (though I, personally, remain on Balmung since that's where the bulk of RP is). Keeping this thread active is important too - as is potentially sending feedback through the appropriate in-game/online channels.
In short? Where there's a will there's a way.
Im sad for our friends Italy and Spain :(
The only thing I would complain about is how there are differences like in some shops u could buy anything and in the one I got my codes from it was exclusive to games gonna ask in a different shop tomorrow I guess.
Also I offer my help to get codes for people if anyone is interested.
