That's beautiful, i got peacock blue, but i'm trying to keep it for now, growing on me. But i would sure love to turn it ice blue soon.

Guess what color I got again: Colibri Pink -_-

I've been feeding it only berries, pears and apples. After getting Othard blue I went heavy on apples with some pears on the side and got Regal Purple. Then I fed 2 apples and 3 pears successfuly and got this.

Just wanted to share! Finally got my soot black!

From kobold brown fed 2 plums ( got msg on 2nd plum ) and that did it.

I got to Kobold Brown yesterday from Ink Blue. I fed 1 Pineapple to Ink Blue and it turned in to Kobold Brown. I then tried a pear to attempt going to Black but ended up going back to Ink...

So from Ink I will go Pineapple to go Kobold... and then from Kobold go Plum until I get message.

I fed my Choco 6 Pears now so wondering what I'll get.
My guess is that one of the RGB values is pretty high, which is why it switched between those two colors all the time but I don't know which value that is D:

EDIT:

Well, after feeding those 6 Pears, I'm back at Lavender Blue again.
I'm already wondering how many more times I have to go through this until I'm at Iris Purple~

The other Soot Black choco owner added Valfruit (green) to Deepwood Green (the darkest green) to get Black.
You added Plum (red) to Kobold Brown (the darkest red) to get Black.
I added Pineapple (blue) to Ink Blue (the darkest blue) and I did not get black.

Hopefully this isn't RNG but rather just the way the color chart works in this system.

well we'll know in 2 hours, cause I gave mine 1 plum to kobold brown (he got msg on 2nd, I got msg on first)

Depending on what I get, I theorize that there are 2 values - the RGB value itself and the "Closest matching dye color"

If I don't get soot black then it just means my RGB value from Kobold Brown was different than his RGB value from Kobold Brown
If I get Soot Black, its unclear

The way i figured it was kobold brown = 42, 28, 23 soot black = 37, 35 , 30. so know i had to drop the red and bring up the green and blue. it was posted here a few posts back that plum= -r +g +b and that's what did it for me. At first I only fed it one but didn't get the msg so I fed a second and got the msg.

I currently have my chocobo color as Orchard Brown and im trying to get it to scoot black. can u guys give me a suggestion on what fruit(s) I should feed it next?

Happened to get Midnight blue from Rolanberry red after feeding 5 Berries.

Number of total amount I fed. However on the plums I did feed till I got the msg. I fed one and didn't get it so I fed another and got the msg.

I somehow managed to feed ~ 12 foods and get a 6-hour countdown that did nothing. Awesome gameplay.

Assuming ~+/-5 points on the RGB scale per fruit I worked out that successfully feeding 9 berries, 8 pears, 6 apples and 1 plum should result in the Soot Black I'm aiming for.

Going to try that next... as soon as these plants grow.

Thats because you didnt read the messages given out by the system or you did the exact feeding to go forward 3 steps and back 3 steps, back to starting point

How many new feather messages? On which fruits? Stable condition?

One of the worst implementations of what otherwise is a nice addition they've ever did, and that's saying alot, considering we have atmas.

So in the beginning I went from Desert Yellow > Cactuar Green > Apple Green > Cactuar Green before I realized it was important to count the new feather procs not the general number of fruits given but since I've been following the thread I know more now so I have some color results.

After I got stuck in the loop between Cactuar and Apple I decided to change it up.

Edit* Stable Condition was Good for all of these...

Cactuar Green: Fed 22 Apples, Procs on the last 6.
Result was Moss Green.
Moss Green: Fed 8 O'Ghomoro Berries, Procs on the last 6.
Result was Currant Purple, which is what I'm at now.

I am doing this in reverse.. rolan to sunset and I cannot get it done. Any suggestions would be welcome. Rolanberry Red to Sunset Orange.

I wonder if they'll patch the system. I'm somewhat discouraged to buy fruits (they are relatively expensive) and end up with a wrong color.

Otherwise, I'm sure we'll all figure it out with enough trial and error.

Stable condition was good, Chocobo was Honey Yellow before feeding, I fed it more lightening foods (some of each; pineapplles, valfruit, doman plums) and received a 6-hour countdown to absolutely nothing. It's a shame because aside from the red value, there should be plenty of room to move toward 255 green and 255 blue from that color.

I feel that this gameplay (namely the item text for the foods and the chat/stable countdown message) is misleading.

ive been going circles with ink blue midnight blue and kobold brown, hoping to break it into soot black :[

I dont see listed on the Excel: Storm Blue

1st feed: 30 X O'Ghomoro Berry + 10 x Mamook Pear
2nd feed: 10 x Xelphatol Apple

I am going toward Black or Midnight/Ink blue. I would love some tips on how to achieve that color from StormBlue.

I've started to try getting from Snow White to Soot Black. Though it's possible I'll stop at a color I REALLY like. I've been using 1 type of fruit until the "feathers" message pops up once, and then waiting. This seems to be a much more stable way to get colors, even if it takes longer. So far:

Snow White + 1 pear (message) = Sylph Green
Sylph Green + 1 berry (message) = Celeste Green
Celeste Green + 1 apple (message) = ?

I'm guessing it'll be a light to mid grey. I'll see in 5 hours.

If you look at the RGB for Coeurl Yellow, Moss Green (where you're at now), and Soot Black... Ravenguard put you on the right track. Your RED/GREEN values have been reduced while your BLUE slightly increased into Soot Black range. The next step would be to continue reducing RED/GREEN while maintaining BLUE at around the same value as it is now.

Starting Color: Coeurl Yellow
182 129 3

Current Color: Moss Green
105 108 33

Desired Color: Soot Black
37 35 30

Hmm, so on the first rolandberry red, did you intentionally change it to grape purple before changing to to rolandberry red?
OR was that a mistake?

So i could just jump from Rolandberry red to kobold brown?
