Paladin Updates

Not to be an *** but... I would like strategic comments/Facts for PLD tested on endgame content not assumptions <__< Never saw anything about other endgame content or any end game content at all besides for Ifrit. Heck I don't even see any post about how well a PLD can do for regular party set ups.

Of course I expect all the DDs to do their best possible to keep their hate as low as possible. But if they actually need to stop dmging/WSing, it's improvement on the tanks end that needs to happen. And on PLD they have to stop DMGing/WSing cause the PLD can't generate more hate then a MNK will get from going all out.

@Ace: I'd rather see the DMG done stats on that fight, then DMG taken...like I said, if you can hold hate against crappy Crap McCrapperson DDs, this doesn't mean that holding hate on PLD is all right...

it was a 9 minute ifrit run, and yes i did get hit by hell fire, not sure why it didnt post, as far as the 121% , you got me, this was a buddys parser, and i was as suprised, maybe its broken , but the girl who usually parses the fights wasnt on that nite. his and her parses are usually about 3-5k difrence if that hers higher damage taken.

and frankly, dont reply to me , IDC , but untill you show somthing better realy dont care to read what you got to say, its all just hype, and there is another parse with me taking more damage on a 12 minute run, soo yall can go with that if you like. I got no reason to lie to you guys

doh..we never said you are lying or anything, but you clearly missed the point on this discussion....

please tank in coincunter using your PLD and do fraps/parse, then we can move on the discussion

For him it would prolly be more useful to tank Ifrit on his WAR...just to see he's getting the same dmg on WAR if not even less...cause that seems to be all he cares about...

How about peopel test the class. It hasnt exactly been out long. so try the changes, the player base of FFXIV is so driven by what someone claims to be true in a thread. Test it out, It is so stupid to see people posting away because they read it somewhere that it is not good. Actually figure it out. not to point out something really old. but until they redid stats people actually thought dexteriity increased evasion. even made up statistics for it. a year of the forums talking about it and they didn't read the dev post way early on that said it wasnt based off dex at all. Test it out. do not follow what half the people on the forums post. Most dont even gatehr the information correctly. and it is littered with assumptions and self derived conclusion.

not that it matters they will still post pages of probly completely wrong information after this post... sometimes I think people post just to think they are intelligent... but everyone can form an opinion. it takes intelligence and an unbiased drive to post something that is factual, something that is true.

The WAR vs PLD debate isn't something that can easily be put into numbers. This is stemming from people doing things with PLD and with WAR, and conveying which did better at their job. The aspects of a tank that are bad are losing hate and how often are you in red HP. These are not really things that people will be able to provide a parse on. WAR is more often in yellow after a big move, and PLD in red. This, coupled with the insane enmity generation as a by-product of DD'ing makes WAR superior to PLD.

I'm not saying PLD sucks, I can do just fine with it after this update. It's just that WAR is still better.

It's not like nobody is trying out PLD and WAR - it's that we have and see that PLD is nearly useless as far as tanking goes.
