We Really Need To Talk About The State And Path Of FFXIV

The Ascians are indeed the main threat and that has been true since the days of ARR. It's a shame that the protagonists have only just realised that Ascian meddling is involved in almost every conflict they get involved in and I wonder when they'll start to genuinely question whether it is wise to throw themselves into additional wars when Lahabrea and his companion literally told the Warrior of Light outright that Zodiark will be reborn through conflict between the mortal races. I suspect that we'll be due an experience similar to FF7 where the protagonists were forced to reconsider the methods that they used in their quest for 'justice'. Especially when Yoshi-P is on record stating that FF7 is his favourite main title.

I do not care that someone has better gear than me. But it is rather irritating that I'm being condescended to and insulted by both players that say raiders NEED the best gear and players that say the good gear isn't necessary.

Raiders want the gear enough to do the harder content to get it. But you're right, any raider saying they *need* the gear could probably do to sharpen up their rotation a bit, and research some fight optimization.

And if thats all you pay attention to and not read the context of said statements then yes you'll always be irritated about whats said.

In any content thats not some form of light/full party raid and level synced, gear doesn't really matter. Basic dungeon gear or crafted is more than sufficient to do all of that content.

Savage raids and Ultimate are the only areas of the game where specific pieces of gear matter and thats why people say raiders need that gear. They're the ones its designed for, literally. If you don't do savage and ultimate, you don't need the best gear.

If that is your interpretation of my posts, you ought to read them again. Nowhere have I said the gear is needed. It isn't. You argued i370 gear should be available in other content like Eureka, to which I argued against because Savage asks significantly more in terms of attention and skill. Bluntly stated, I could bot through Eureka. I couldn't through Savage. If you want the best gear, you should have to complete the hardest content. Or wait four months and collect tokens every week to upgrade your tome gear.

On the other hand, if you have no interest in Savage, then yes, the gear is entirely unnecessary since it's overkill for casual content.

Players that complete the hardest content deserve the best rewards. Players that cannot complete the hardest content do not deserve the same rewards. It's as simple as that. If you want a game where everyone gets top rewards, maybe look for a P2W game where you can use your credit card and purchase top gear and not have to earn anything in game.

If you only want to include activities with a built in reward structure, then let's include low level fates, leveling dungeons, low level primals. Should I be able to do low level fates, run sestasha, and get the same gear you get from doing Eureka?

200 Sastasha runs... I can solo that in about 50 hours. That's still more hours than needed for Eureka. I thought you want the reward to be equal if the time invested is equal? So you want Eureka reward to be equal to Savage raid if the time invested is equal, but you don't want Sestasha reward to be equal to Eureka if the time invested is equal? Why is that? You can't have it both ways lol.
