A player would more than likely end up doing just that for one of the MSQ trials anyway, though.

Yes thats another problem. People will have to use most of the time in the dungeon watching the CS again and again instead of using it for battle. On top of that there is no loot in there. Even if they give us a reward that would be good for that time we are still missing all the other reward that someone could get from other dungeons. You could run Ala Mhigo in that time at least twice, get recent tomestone, loot for gearing up other jobs or to exchange it and also the chance for a mount. Honestly these two dungeons would need to be at least on that level before I consider that a good reward for having to watch stuff most of the time instead of fighting through it.
I really hope that people that are fine with this changes are also the one that will run them a lot from now on. ;)
Also knowing more than the devs: They are humans and like any human they will make mistakes. Jobs still have quite the balance problems, the housing situation is a huge problem which they cant solve. Diadem and its second version are nothing but death content right now, and LoV was death on arrival. I dont need to taste a burned meal or be a cook to say that it will taste horrible.
About JP players: Can we stop making them out to be better humans..yes they look at some things different then us but they also do lots of things that are not great either. They go around and follow people onto other servers to talk bad about them if that person did something bad. Even if they change name and server they will follow to make sure that everyone know they are bad. This is stalking..there are also players that make some very sexy poses and screenshots and then make it look like this is truly possible in this game thus giving it a bad press. This was the reason why we wont get certain emotes. They have a black list outside the game that everyone can see. So yes we might be a little unforgiving with CS (and not everyone is like that, exactly how not every JP is like that too) but they are no saints and we get some changes only thanks to their behavior.
Also even if SE is a japanese company, the majority of their players are from NA and EU. The last statistic showed that NA alone had more active players than JP. I do think its time that they see their game as an international one and that you should take different mentalities into consideration.
Considering that people wanting to watch the cutscenes during a run of CM/Prae have long been recommended to get a party through PF for this, it is clear that there are players out there who are willing to sit through the cutscenes more than once.
So there will still be people queuing up for the MSQ roulette, even if far fewer than before.
Tbh i feel like they tried to fix a player imposed problem what was stopping people fro watching in the first place pier pressure ? Haters gonna hate just take the carry and watch your CS
If an average 4 player dungeon takes around 20 minutes to finish, and these places take roughly an hour and 40 minutes to do with all cut scenes. If they make to where as these places give the new token in the amount equal to five end game four player dungeons. I'll bring the soda.
They should have just added a option where if picked to watch cut scenes get a big exp. bonus and a cracked crystal or cluster. If you decided not to it stays the same way how it was.
See, this is a difficult idea to get right. Think about it this way, if this system were put in, ALL 8 players would have to vote for the second option for it to go through (otherwise the one new person would be locked out and we would be back to square 1), and even if they do add that system, the chances of the new person still being bullied because they didn't vote for the skip are pretty high
Yes, peer pressure was exactly what stopped me from getting the story and enjoyment from the cutscenes. I've been MMOing since Asheron's Call launched and yes, I'll sacrifice that enjoyment not to hold up a group. I hate being carried, so no I won't just "take the carry" and yes, I just esc out of them as soon as they pop up. Which is a shame but I also understand veteran players not wanting to stand around while the new guy watches cutscenes.
