You may have an FC who is willing to help, you have PF, so maybe other BLUs can help you out, or people can be kind enough to help you get your skill you need. Also , blue mage will have lots of monster healing and tanking abilities so they can go solo without help, like in the blue mage announcement video, he took Shiva's spell and defeated her as well.

It's fairly presumptuous to assume everyone has a helpful fc. Even more presumptuous to say rely on the kindness of others when the lack of it was one of the given examples of why they wanted to keep blue mage out of df. And maybe the person is shy, a lot of people like df because they are shy and it automatically removes the struggle of finding people to play with which is harder for some people.

Unless you can make BLU balanced and have a set optimal rotation and not super OP or super UP, then it does not belong in the DF. I would much rather it be true to its nature

His nature is to learn skill from monster not being super OP, can't see why he can't be balanced like any other job.

Where has this "BLU has to be OP" coming from? 11? In other games they've been strong yes, not usually not as strong as other jobs like SMN, it's spells were usually very niche and you only really used around 10 at best. FF5 only had like 30 total BLU magic..

Bad Breath / Level 5 Death are the go to so far, and it's mostly from SE. I mean people are referencing it too (for agreement and not), in terms of changing those spells to fit the mold vs not but SE started that point. The reason why Blue Mage is limited is because they want the spells to be as they are seen in the game via the monsters.

Although it'd be a real special feeling (insert blow to the gut here) if they nerf the monster skills and make it limited lol. Blue Mage Level 5 Death "deals 200 potency". Bad Breath "40 potency dot". Limited content please look forward to it! Hehe, but I don't think they're doing that - at least we have comments to the opposite of that concept. So we should be expecting Blue Mage to bad breath a group of monsters for 5+ cc debuffs each and goofy stuff like that.

Blu can be balanced. What cannot be balanced is a choose your own loadout hybrid job with 49 skills of varying quality. Every single idea that sounds anything remotely like the latter has been incredibly bad. Unsurprisingly, this is what most blu fans seem to want.

If they are shy of meeting new people, then blue mage would be perfect for them,it can give them that solo game play experience they want.

If they are not in a helpful FC, why are they there then?

You make it sound like everyone one who plays final Fantasy XIV is just rude and toxic not willing to help someone out. Point is , there are people willing to help blue mages get their actions, isn't that part of playing on an MMO?

Also blue mage will be able to get the skills themselves, as stated before, they have tanking and healing monster abilities.

Why that much skill to begin with, blue mage isn't about getting bazillion spells, learning from a monster because a quest ask you to isn't different than get it from anywhere else. Quest can require to do the dungeon or even primal to get their skill. Nothing prevent blue mage to get a normal playability and potency.

In the end its more about those who want to play blue mage normaly because its a blue mage and those who want to sacrifice a job to play something else. Lets be honest, could have been a rythm-based fight instances involving dancer and blue mage as a normal job we would be in the same position arguing dancer should be a normal job and not a mini game. People would say "dancer is a support and its not needed in this game + we want something new" the staff would go full "can't balance dancer without betraying it" while other player want to play dancer in every feature the game has to offer because its a dancer.

It's odd, since that customisation version of BLU only came from 11, which people need to let go including the devs. This game isn't 11. I would have been perfectly fine with a normal job version of BLU. In every game besides 11 you only used like 10 BLU spells, such as the different elemental breaths, Missile and niche attacks like Goblin Punch and the various Needles. All of which is more or less the amount you'd use in a standard rotation. We don't need 49 abilities, we certainly don't need even more that they're eventually going to add. Heck I don't think any version of BLU had more than 49 in any FF game besides 11.
