I'm not exactly sure what you think I'm nitpicking at. I'm merely laughing at the notion that someone thinks Coil clear sales are an imagined phenomenon and not a norm on just about every raid-oriented server.

Regardless of the price, gil buys you progression (and has for over a year since Titan HM sellers cropped up to cover their future housing), and now money buys gil. It won't buy you a world-first, but it can certainly place you in a bracket to be considered for a group going for it.

You are nitpicking the price (both in gil and RL money) - that is the context anyway based on the guy you are quoting.

Just saying 1 bracelet sale can make a FCoB clear affordable and $60 isn't that big a deal for some people.

People have been selling runs for over a year, long before the cash shop existed. They will continue to sell runs after people stop selling bracelets.

I don't think the context of the post I made or the post I was quoting has been made entirely clear since you seem to think I'm somehow defending exchanging real cash for gil by joking that you need 'even more' real cash for a FCOB purchase.

(It's the opposite.)

The point isn't that you can buy runs now that bracelet selling is pandemic, the point is that bracelet selling literally lets you convert real cash into content clears, which is a form of directly paying real money for player power, or "pay to win" as it's commonly put.

No issue with selling of runs for gil - it's lame but it's tolerated.

However when the gil is acquire by spending RL money ...

The thing here is, as the negative (debate term, meaning against the status quo) we only have to prove one case of pay to win, as the affirmative (For the status quo) you have to disprove all cases of pay to win.
My argument:
Indirect RMT by definition is pay to win.

My case:
Experience pots are commonly used examples of pay to win. Evidence

Indirect RMT (buying of an item with real life currency to sell for ingame currency) in this game can purchase all the leve items to level a craft or gathering job. Evidence

Selling EB bracelets for Gil is indirect RMT as defined above.

Case closed.

Edit to add: to the gms, you guys did ask players to not sell them, but you also say that you are monitoring the situation... Hard to do when you keep locking threads that this is being discussed in.

I could care less about what people do with their money, fools and their money are soon parted.

What I care about is that content can be skipped with real money when yoshi specificly stated he wouldn't put that in the cash shop
