Well, its a choice you have to make, early end-game gear (iLvl 70) are relatively accessible and players are able to easily gear all of their armory classes in iLvl70 to get up to speed with early end-game content but this obviously comes with the drawback of sharing a single lockout for higher end gear as part of the armory system.

If you primary objective is to defeat the weekly lockout for higher end content, you'll have to put in the effort and time to level an alt character

Its really not that difficult to understand unless what you want is simply to get the best gear right now

p.s. if you're mainly interested in gearing your secondary class fast, you could get a static coil party and establish loot distribution so that you can get the pieces you need for your secondary class even when you aren't running coil with that class.

Really? You get 1 relic at least every two weeks and get one piece of lvl90 gear every two weeks. If you get your relic then you have to wait another two weeks to get 1, ONE piece of lvl90 gear out of a possible 10 or so pieces of gear (so the math works out to 20 weeks give or take to get the full set - 5ish months).

450 is a good cap to keep it at. Any higher would be a little much and any less would be grueling.

Lol. I find this quite hilarious to read. If you're looking to gear up your other classes, how would coil stop you? You're bound to have repeated loot that no one else needs but since you supposedly have more than 1 level 50 character, wouldn't that increase the odds of you getting a loot? And wouldn't that solve your myth cap problem? For example, I have DRG as my sub and my team's PLD has a BRD while the DRG has a PLD, we just greed repeated loot accordingly. So I don't see a problem in gearing to iLVL90 easily? You don't necessarily buy all myth anyway so you should be optimizing it every week as you progress through coil, no?

And based on your definition of hardcore, it is subjective. There's so much more to do in the game though not end-game and you can still enjoy it. At least I do. So, unless if you're looking to unlock every single thing there is to offer like minions, mounts etc, you're not hardcore at all. Just an end-game grinder.

No, I think hardcores with statics could probably gear some alts with unneeded coil drops... but for casuals, it is restricting- which seems counter-intuititive. The lockouts seem like they would be more for keeping hardcores from getting geared out and bored.

This is why I support the current coil system, but don't get the current CT lockout scheme. It's not end game gear. Myth is a bit different because it is end game gear... which doesn't make sense. They shouldn't have the highest ilevel gear grindable from small group content, imo. If they are going ot have grindable gear, imo it would make sense for it to be CT level or be between CT and coil... for hardcores to grind away at and get geared for raiding - or as a vanity option for casuals who want a different looks/class specific looking gear.

Mind you, all the different system of getting gear could be made more relevant, imo by giving secondary set effects, encouraging you to get a set of multiple of a set and differentiating between two or more different styles of play.

For example- Maybe the grinded gear that casuals could get would result in bigger heals while the raid set inceases mp regen or vica versa. Diversity is good.

Just my opinion.

Terrible idea. Myth shouldn't even give i90 gear, let alone allow a person to go i50 to i90 in two days

You're not getting at what I'm saying. The OP is mentioning that the myth cap is preventing him from gearing up his alt but how would that be if you're going to be getting into coil? I understand that he might not have a static but to be an end-game player you would technically still screen the kind of parties you go in with, no? And could still come to an agreement for you to greed a loot for your alt class which is not needed by anyone else.

And being an all end-game player doesn't make you hardcore but a grinder. The game is not restricting you from being hardcore, just from being a grinder. But do still understand that this revamped game is still relatively new so we would probably be able to see a change in the future. After all, I feel the restriction persists to the level of content anyway. So why the rush when there's nothing else better for you to do? You still have subscription time to kill anyway.

I am not saying I completely agree with the OP.. but I do think the myth cap is bogus- combined with the systems. Specifically:

1. I think they should remove the myth cap to allow spamming of group content, but myth rewards should not be the highest ilevel (probably equal to CT)
2. I believe they should remove the 1 loot lockout from CT and make it either class specific, or need only lockout.
3. I believe the sets from CT and the myth sets should provide set bonuses to encourage getting those sets, but also to keep one set from making the other pointless. (set bonuses would be fairly generic, since they are shared among jobs, and myth is class specific.. I think an ideal setup would be a mixture of both) - Clearly Coil set should have a bonus that is the best bonus.

As a casual, I assure you I am not in a rush.. but I have geared healers and am trying to gear a tank and it is annoying as heck. It would be easier to have a second character, and that seems counter-intuitive to the armory system.

Yeah that's a viable solution but doesn't help justify the possibility of having different builds as of now, most people have different ideas of their BiS. But I get what you mean. I agree the CT loot lockout is ridiculous though lol. By the end of the week, no one runs it hahaha. Otherwise, I'm fine with everything as it is?
