Excessive baggage is needless, there is no pride to be had by having an excessive FC member tally, but there is pride for sure in having a well associated and lively community.

I respect your personal experiences with the guilds you've been in prior, but... honestly, your advice isn't really merited. My FCs' officers and I are doing a good job of keeping our very large community running smoothly with a minimum of fuss and encouraging everybody to participate and socialize. We're a social FC, so it's not really my place to suddenly change management styles and start culling people for not contributing enough.

This thread isn't intended to be a referendum on my FC. We just wanted to know if there were any plans in the future to accommodate large groups like us, and we were satisfied with the response.

I give up. The amount of people who outright refuse to do a little reading in order to actually contribute to the thread boggles my mind. Seriously, almost every post for the last 20 pages must just be people who haven't read the thread literally saying the same things (how/why do we have so many people, constantly repeated suggestions of how to fix the problem, some incredibly lame insult, etc...) and the people actually in the guild answering and addressing these same questions that were already answered again, and again, and AGAIN. It's like a mobius strip of bad posting.

I wish I'd have seen this thread earlier. Sinister Swarm<SIN> of Cactuar is a similar, if smaller, FC operating with the oversight of a 14-year-strong multi-game community. I may be only a Soldier Bee within the Swarm, but we support the result for which you were originally going and I feel I speak for the entire Swarm when I sign this thread and stand with PBC and DGKK. Carry on, "Jefe".

This reminds me of all the people who joined social networking and 'friended' (or whatever term you want to use) thousands of people. And they'll swear up and down that they're best and close friends with the majority of them and that pairing any down isn't possible as they're just too close knit of friends. Arguing against each others' opinions whether or not it's feasible / idiotic / wonderful / whatever will get nobody anywhere. It also depends on your definition of a friendship / community as well. Obviously the majority of their ties are much more shallower than those of us who are content with a close knit company of 30-40 people.

To each their own, but at least the DEVs clarified and said they can have their alliances and we don't have to see 1/8th the server under one name. Just 2-3 different names. Ha.

Why do our free companies offend you so much?

Thank you for confirming that the development team knows of our plight and is considering how to adjust the game to make the game more enjoyable for everyone.

If people want to prance around their 'achievement' of having a thousand members to brag about I say let them recruit away. Good luck managing all that noise, though. I learned long ago in another MMO that recruiting hundreds of people sucks ass when you have to remove them by the hundreds due to inactivity monthly so I stopped it. Better to play with a few dozen solid dedicated players than manage hundreds for no real reason but to brag to the server you have the most members, but each their own who wish to dance that route.

Also it's not terribly hard to recruit new members even if they are in a FC already. Simply communicate in some form to others(not using /tells) and if they feel your advertised FC is for them then they will drop FC and join you. FC recruitment isn't just for people without a <name> next to their name.

I don't see why big companies offend you so much. If you don't like them, don't join them.

There's enough jelly in this thread to feed rosie o'donnell for years.
