Missing Genders: A request for Male Miqote, Female Highlander, and Female Roegadyn

There's not really anything in the lore that says we can't have them. And it's not a particularly small or pointless feature. I'm all for it as soon as they're done with fixing the core game.

Who's the moron that decided to pipe up in his tinny little voice saying that we shouldn't get these genders as playable?

Eagerly awaiting news of a PS3 release date so I know when is the latest we'll get to see our missing genders.

I'm also hoping we'll still have free character slots just long enough so we can freely mess around with the creator and the in-game animations before deciding to make the switch.

People can't handle Galka's not reincarnating I guess, some people really hate that roegadyns have sex organs I guess and they don't just have a memory keeper that could easily become the shadow lord through trickery ^^

Honestly I'm fine with the direct of Roegadyn's having a female counterpart, they aren't galkas, they were just inspired by Galkas, also XI had male miqote, I just hope male miqotes can somewhat look like men, have a girly face and manlier face, and make their body kinda like hyur men or something but with sleeker muscles. Just don't make them totally bishi

I'd describe all Tite Kubo's stuff to be bishi like when you look at it, but he can still portray masculine characters with it, I do understand the more bishonin the more status in japanese culture, i don't hate on it. I just don't want to see too many girly boys running around, allow people to choose between girlier and manilier faces

It would be a good move to have the two options for male Miqo'te in the character creation..But who knows they could have already made a balance..So I'd be happy to see some screens of the missing genders so we can get an idea of what to expect.

no what I am getting at and what bothers me, is that they made choices, both in story and game wise, then they give in to all the bitching and crying left and right.

I don't mind changed to the game, it does need work..... but good lord they need to learn what to change and what not to change.

Except for the part where Tanaka said that the actual game models for both the female Roegadyn and male Miqo'te are already done, and that was back months ago.

This isn't an example of them "caving". This is them implementing something that for all intents and purposes SHOULD have been in the game since day one.

The major phrase Tanaka used that I picked up on back then was "We were going too, we ran out of time."

I truely hope this comes true and they add all the missing genders!!

They have different teams working on different things all at the same time. As others have stated the character models were finished before launch even but Tanaka just refused to include them. There are more pressing matters currently yes but no one said they were going to put them in immediately. If I recall correctly, PS3 launch is the projected time frame for this. That's a long way off and after all the major changes.

I also remember the line that mentioned they had the models ready but didn't have time to implement them. It was a real bummer for me to hear.

People have wondered about female Galka and male Mithra (until WotG) for ages. There's even been fanart or art ideas floating around for the "what ifs?". If SE could have learned anything, it was that people have been asking about this since FFXI and FFXIV is as good of a place as any to bring this to life if they're following race ideas from FFXI.

If this game has been in the works for around some 5 years, it should have been plenty enough time to get those models worked enough to actually put into the game. And I don't recall anything in the lore that says female Roegadyns and male Miqo'te come about as rare as a Ganondorf.

They ended up looking nothing like what people kept trying to say they should look like "Short fat and ugly" in most cases. The fact that people refused to believe that SE could make the Female Galkas pleasing to the Eye just makes me Bawk. They have done some of the best "Beast Races" ever in their past games like the Ronso's from X.


They dont. And I'm really happy with how Female Roes turned on in Yoshida (Not Yoshi-P)'s artwork for the grand Companies. They look Regal, Stawart, and Strong. As well as beautiful Everything that the Elvaans lost when they became Elezen. (In my eyes.)

Hopefully they copy the FFTA races in the future.

I dunno about all that. I liked the Ivalice races but this is a distinctly different world. Also adding that many more races would be pretty ridiculous, not to mention lore destroying with 2 sets of Moogles. You'd have what, 6 new races? Some of which again are single gender, which creates the same problem.

Just don't add the moogles/humes then. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Viera and Bangaa races.

How would that possibly make sense though? Hey here's some races from a completely different universe, somehow magically now here. Enjoy. I want to see tall bunny girls as much as the next guy but I just couldn't ever see it making sense.

I remember the idea was 'bulky, muscle women' on fem Galkas. I was quite surprised (in a pleasing way) how SE decided to finally show their appearance to us when we had the art preview of Merlwyb. I took in her features for quite a good amount of time!

The only thing I'm worried about is that we might not get to have swimsuits for our new chars. lol
If they're gender and race specific I mean. If they're only gender specific then we can store some up for our new characters when they get here. :3

So anxious to see the new characters. :D

They're looking only gender specific, if the female ones are anything to go by. The design is practically the same between the two.

I had some thoughts cross my head, what if the swimsuits somehow ended up being exclusive wear? And then if we get a race change option, would they look into converting pieces present in your inventory (besides underwear)?

Imagine a female going to a male, and having a bikini instead of trunks in your inventory. Lol.

Male Miqote Yes! Been waiting for this one for a decade lol and 11 just tempt you with the male mithra in the cutscenes. Can not wait for this to be added got 2 rl friends play as female characters that want this bad!

I hope they either do this or that they're only gender specific and we could grab a pair for the opposite gender in case of a race/gender change being allowed.

Was staring at those pics of the models and for a minute I was wondering why she was pinkish.. and whether she was Hellsguard or Sea Wolf. (Sea Wolf would make more sense of course.. but red = Hellsguard) Then I realized it was probably just not coloured yet/unfinished. D: I'm sure if I had been awake I would have picked up on that faster... XD
Her artwork depicts her as a Sea Wolf anyways. :x

I've wondered if the missing genders would still have their clan differences or if someone got lazy and only made one for each. XD I'd be a little disappointed if male miqo'te got here and we couldn't pick from 2 clans. I don't expect SE to do something so silly though. I can't wait to see what they'll look like. I wonder which clan I'll favour. *rambles on about nonsense*
