The maturity of Endwalker was tainted irreparably by the extended focus on slice of life and humour. There is a time and place for such things, the expansion about an apocalypse wasn't the best place for them, certainly not to this degree. It feels that FFXIV shifted from a high fantasy game in Shadowbringers to one that struggles with its identity in Endwalker. This wasn't in the best interest of those of us who wanted to see the themes and setting of the game done justice. Hence why some of us take issues with the Loporrits dancing atop Zodiark's resting place.
I want FFXIV to be FFXIV. A high quality fantasy game with excellent storytelling. I believe this was accomplished in Heavensward and Shadowbringers. I would like to see it meet or exceed the standards of those two expansions at the bare minimum moving forward.
