Novus weapon upgrade system findings

This thread is about novus, not atma. So no I'm not defending atma.

good god, this sounds ridiculously arduous.

atma was bad

the book portion of the quest felt ok, and only really started to drag towards the 8th/9th book.

this sounds terrible

There is a probably a rule that if you do more than two a day the percentage drops and will keep dropping with every successful meld just so people don't overkill it lol. It might reset back to 100 the next day.

If this isn't the case I find it silly that it will keep dropping the meld rate to a point where it is base on chance.

Can anyone confirm or deny that it goes up one time with each infusion or does it go up more with higher level matiera used once you get that far?

Kinda annoyed at my lack of foresight.
Logged in brought all the rank 3 materias for kinda cheap...(well 800k) enough for 40 of each of my stat as a precaution (crit/determ)

First infusion ...oh ..it wants a grade 1 ...instantly go the market board....prices of every materia has quadrupled. ODIN WHYYY.

My daily map was a solo bomb...which hit reallly hard if I didnt sprint away...I feel that I'll swap to my WHM for every Map...much more safe when Monk only has 3 heals (Bloodbath, Mercy Stroke and Second Wind) all on lengthy CD's.

From my understanding; monster hunts will give tokens that can be accumulated to buy Alexandrites. So, it'll be another token grind option. I don't mind a grind, but effort spent should be equal to the value of the reward.

You don't start out with the highest materia it stats you with tier 1s only and you work your way up to higher materia.

have you tried to infuse a IV with having 4 alexanerites?
I am wondering if you look at it like normal materia melds on crafted gears IVs will require 4 alexanderites?

I've pondered that as well, thinking maybe it's just worded wrong. The wording is along the lines "Materia of a different grade is required to enhance this attribute" yet I have all grades 1-4.
