Here's what I think is going on.
Hatching-tide event is it's own event. Just a thing for easter. There may or may not be something happening with the archons arriving like Jihli predicts.

Storm Over Gridania is a different event. Which will lead to something huge. Perhaps a threat that will bring the introduction of The Grand Companies to defend against it. There is also speculation on whether or not this threat will lead to remakes of maps - especially The Black Shroud.

Those are just what I'm being lead to believe from what we've been given in lore and events in game. Could be totally off.
Just, right now I don't see any proof that these two events are linked. I'm not saying they aren't. Some people are assuming they are with no proof though - jumping to conclusions.

Whatever happens, it's all very exciting. I hope to find out soon if these events are linked, and if not, what will happen in each of them.

Yes they are two different events That I believe either are linked together, or have its own separate lore, Yes right now I don't see a connection, Just pure Speculation. Time will tell when and If, they give us another Writing from the Gridania Writer, or if NPC's start saying different things, which I highly doubt sense thats a Lore all on its own and being taken up by that particular event.

I hope you don't feel that I was arguing with you Starlord. I re-read my posts and saw how it might sound like that, but I meant no harm.

If the events are not connected, then I really don't have any guesses for what will happen with Hatching-tide IF anything else was supposed to happen - with Jihli's archons or whatever.

I have many more ideas for what Storm Over Gridania could bring. Garleans, Beastmen, map remakes, some new foe/threat? Grand Companies, new areas??

Anyways, I'm psyched and it's nice to see other people enjoying the events so much. ^.^v

Nah Your Cool, I rather talk to you than the some people who want to put down the game and claim they want to make it better but its whatever =).

Yes The Article, was well written and made the lore that much greater creating a jump start into the Community =). On a pervious thread one person said that they are doing the False Prophet thing to cover there tracks if the Shady Character Prophecy doesn't fall through. but that would back any sense considering all the other changes thats been happening besides that Phantom to comes and goes lol. And also about these Deaspected Crystals what about those, and those are part of the lore too in that First Article. And also all the NPCs saying Skies have become our Nemesis, and Ferry Boat gets sunken down things like that.

The whole thing here is to enjoy the game and for what they put out ( especially when it wasnt even in the patch notes and catching everyone off guard) That was a smooth move by SE, thats what I like to see out of them and I hope they continue that towards their endeavors.

I find the deaspected crystals especially interesting. I wonder if we'll have some use for them in the coming days/weeks. I wonder what they could be used for. I don't think it'll be too big, nothing that the PS3 users would be upset about missing out on (like an item we can only get now), but something to keep those play now interested and having fun. Maybe quests will be added relating to the Storm Over Gridania, and we'll need these crystals to progress. Or maybe as some have wondered, they'd be related to the materia system.
I'm collecting as many of them as I can get a hold of. Which is sadly only 6 so far. lol.. :) I'll keep working on it. Even if they have no significant use after all, I'll keep some for the memories.

I agree. I really really love the way that SE just slipped this event in without explaining anything. Just a touch of lore, some random odd events, and let everyone wonder what the heck is going on. It's brilliant. A great way to keep people thinking, wondering, and interested in the game. I really hope they do more of this in the future when we're unsuspecting. :D

Alot of People think it could be the "Beastman Seals" of FFXIV. But as one mentioned on the forums, the Arcanist could be using the Elemental Crystals as a form of Energy Supply that makes them use the abilities they use. Im leaning towards that because of the fact that "Deaspected Crystals are empty. and wait.. theres also Something else thats linked with these Deaspected Crystals, Remember the R34 Mission where You had to Take Crystals and turn them into "Deaspected Crystals... hmmm.. But what could they be used for if they were used in Mission R34... now theres something.. *ponders*

I dont think they be throwing Deaspected crystals without tell us what they are used for if it were for an "actual event" that last so long.. but they are continuing to drop at a very low rate and still getting them
after the Hatching tide event" now that event is over to a degree ( because people are still speculating a Continuation of the event because the lore was left abandon *at least for now anyhow*) I currently hold 6 so you 2 more ahead of me there buddy =).

Unexpected things can lead to wonderful things and bring alot of life into this community, especially now everyone seems to be more active ( even if they are still negative) in there own way they want this game to succeed just have a very bad way of showing it.. but I know they care

Somewhat disappoint that Gridania isn't a smoldering ruin right now, but I greatly enjoyed the event nonetheless. It would be really nice if the Arcanist GM still popped up here and there (with a new message, perhaps?) to keep this mystery alive.

oh, awesome. I've got lots of theories about those deaspected crystals, and to be honest I'm kinda happy they werent squandered lore wise on just an easter event.

Yes. now thats confirmed everyone can stop saying oh its probably with the Easter egg hunt Event -.- lmao.

But I think all this is related to " The Storm Over Gridania" Event If you read what it says on the lodestone you see everything thats on there is in the game as we speak

It would be very disappointing if that was the end of the event, as we still don't know exactly why the 2nd Spriggan decided it was time to run away with the eggs.

I'm happy that I got my Midnight Egg Helm a while before the event ended. Made about 1 mil selling eggs, spent all of it on new gear and some nice crafting gear for my goldsmith. ^^

Also, it wasn't too hard to depict which event the deaspected crystals belonged to if people would just read the darn loadstone updates.. >.>

Yea i read it long ago and i know it mentions the crystals but it doesn't necessarily mean they have nothing to do with the Archon's and will have no ties whatsoever with the easter event....from a lore standpoint anyway.

Well no, that's not what I meant. I thought you were asking if the crystals were introduced from The Hatching Tide or The Last Word.

I can tell you that the crystals are tide into The Last Word Event, but probably are just introduced in this event to bring up a totally separate event in the future. However, I was just stating that the crystals are still obtainable even if The Hatching Tide event has come to a close.

The Archons are brought about, in The Hatching Tide, while The Last Word tells of a disaster on its way, etc. These events are separate events, but the story could be tied together.

Jihli's archons could still make an appearance for all we know. SE may continue hatching tide - well the lore, but maybe not under an Easter event name, since Easter is over now. Or Jihli was just crazy and the archons won't come at all. lol
I'm just going to wait and see what happens the next few days before thinking it's over. Though I wouldn't be disappointed if nothing else happens.

Nearly everything does. I've got them from fighting regular mobs, leve mobs, and on botany runs.

Maybe Jihli wasn't crazy after all.. maybe those.. hooded figures were using her for something(brain-washed her). Maybe the events are connected and they had Jihli help create this Storm Over Gridania before erasing her memory. D: What's going on?! *panic*

Or at least it seems that way, Considering those Hooded guys are the same hooded guy we see popping around Thanalan Spreading Prophecies. and it seems they are trying to do the Summoning Rite, In which will put the " Storm Over Gridania" Perhaps? Only Time will tell little one :o, and I cant wait for the Patch 1.18 SOmething tells me theres going to be more than this Battle system changes, because they said this Patch will be a Big one! Big enough to where they would have to separate it in 2? and what was our biggest patch so far? 350Mbish? If they are say its Our Biggest patch that would lead me to believe this patch is very close to 1GB? hmmm.... They are hiding something... Perhaps more about this Hooded man?!

I'm ready to believe that Jhili's dream was quite legitimate, but that these hooded persons used their memory wipe because her actions didn't match up with their plans. We may have our true enemies foreshadowed.

Did the runnaway Spriggan anticipate this? Is this the reason he ran off so he could do the summoning ritual himself? Considering a large number of people took him one of each elemental egg and he remarked that we would then be able to conduct the ritual, we may yet see these archons.

While the eastery event of hatching-tide may be over, some of its implications seem to remain and tie in with our main plot.

Maybe the hooded figures coerced the run-a-way spriggans to steal the eggs that people had warmed ( the ones that were suppose to hatch into the archons.) Then, they had them replace those eggs with regular painted dodo eggs? That way the hooded figures would have the archon eggs, and Jihli would have just tried to hatch archons from regular dodo eggs...resulting in a baby dodo.
