Materia meld caps for Disciples of Land

]I would say NO, but its not to leave slots open for future melding, you need to cap the Gather/Perception stats if you want to be able to gather all items. But I would use III and IVs in all the guaranteed slots so you not wasting so much materia. But I SB for all my materia and I much rather farm for a couple of IVs, than SB 40+ items for each 3rd and 4th overmeld to get enough Is and IIs.

Also for the head piece you only need 1 gather materia melded to it. since once you collect enough HQ gather tokens you will be getting an upgrade, so no point wasting materia over melding it.

Would keep 606 GP as you goal, not 600GP most suggest so you can use cheapest vender food and not waste HQ better food for getting to 650GP for unspoiled spots. Wouldn't suggest capping it either, since anything over that, is not used since you can't get enough GP fully capped to use another skill.

Which food are you referring to? To my knowledge the best GP food in the game is either Dzemel Gratin (GP+ 30/Perception+6) and Beef Stew (GP+30/Gathering+7). Neither of these foods would put you at 650 GP from 606.

I was under the impression that the only way to get 650 GP was to cap at 621 GP which is VERY expensive.

Talking about Mutton Stew, 16 gil, available from any of the 3 cities food vender. And you get 650 GP with that food counting, 606GP base+ 19GP food + 25GP from the 5 swings getting you to the point of using the 100HQ skill=650GP Lets you use Reveal 300GP+ gather increase 5% gather 50 GP+ extra strike 300GP. For the old unspoiled that will get you 100% gather and 2 HQs strikes every time.

The difference between NQ Mutton Stew and HQ Beef stew on unspoiled nodes is +1% gather. NQ Lentils And Chestnuts 34gil perception vender food doesn't increase your HQ rate, not sure about HQ Dzemel Gratin. The unspoiled nodes I am talking about are the ones you get the items from for the master tools.

There is currently no point to get 650 GP, 630 GP is enough. Unearth II (300GP)+Sharp Vision(50GP)+Solid Reason(300GP)= 650GP - 20 GP (regain from first 4 swings)= 630GP.

And here's how I did, the steps: Unearth II/Leaf turn II + Sharp Vision/field mastery --->4 swings---->Solid Reason/Ageless words ---->1 swing----> Deep Vigor/Brunt force (just use it since it doesn't cost any GP)---->last swing---->done!

GP meld cap is 624 and you still need another 6 GP to reach 630 GP, so you need food. The cheapest food is mutton stew which can be bought from NPCs in any cities. Mutton stew give you 19 GP. You just need to meld until 611 GP.

Not need to waste too much gils on melding GP, should focus on gatherings and perceptions.

Cap with new gear 625 GP not 624. My miner has 616GP and I can put another 9GP on my gear, if including offhand tool.

Ummm.... those are crafting items. They have CPs and not GPs.

Of course for fishers GPs are useless. So some fishers use those.

But for fishers every right side accessory can be an i70 combat piece. They can all take the III gathering materia for +5 gathering and perception both.

I am wondering if there is any information out there for best equipment, stat caps on that equipment, and optimum melding methods for DoL jobs similar to this player's post for DoH jobs. The first post in this thread is useful, but it seems incomplete and does not list the best equipment available, nor the optimum materia melding methods. Also, from what I understand, botany/mining are somewhat different to fishing. Thanks! :)

I do hope OP can update 1st post since there's several info still missing.
