Casual and relaxed FC "Vagabond Knights" [VK] looking for mature and nice players

Hi, to all I have being reading up on this thread, and You all sound like the FC I have being looking for. I am a US player and if you have me I would like to give you guys a try, that is if you will have me. I am a level 50 monk, and a 41 year old player with a young spirit. The FC I'm in right now is not good for me, when I have asked for help no one does, I usually get ignored. Even when I send a tell. I like to take my time, and always try to help if asked. I like this game, (being my first MMO), but I don't like going in the DF to guessing what kind of people I am going to find (all ready had two bad experience), but for the most part every one has being nice. In my FC no one talks to each other, there is no help, no lynkshell or any thing of that sort. I fill like I am at this alone just like when I started. I am a quite person, mostly a listener, but if I am engaged I am there for anyone to help. Hopefully you will consider me.

I know what you mean about being in a FC that makes you feel as if you were playing on your own. I personally think not replying to someone asking for help is rather low and childish. I don't always have time for help as I often have to do things for the FC (e.g. talking to an applicant) while someone is asking for help with a dungeon. I just think it's a matter of decency to just give a quick reply anyway.

Of course sometimes chat just goes wild or you're too busy with crafting or fates or a dungeon to read everything and you sometimes don't notice someone asking for help, but that should not be the norm.

Our little FC may have it's flaws and our endgame "progression" is probably laughable compared to what most FC here do, but we're all very social and I never saw someone asking for help and no one answered. We are at a stage now that we have more members in the higher level range than in the lower levels, and still the lowlevel dungeon groups never fail to fill up because our lvl 50's still enjoy helping out.

I will try tracking you down ingame, but with the timezone difference I'm not sure I'll be successful :)

Would you mind keeping an eye out for our officers (Kimiko especially) to help us get in touch with you? Thanks :)

Those of you in the US, as Darius mentioned I'm the only officer in the US. I am usually on in the evenings US time though not on Tuesdays or Thursdays, if you'd like to talk to me sometime. Also as Darius has mentioned and not to discourage you from joining, there is not many people online in the US prime time hours since most of EU is sleeping at that time, if that doesn't bother you great :D

I will try and keep an eye out for you guys and feel free to look for me as well :)

Wow, impressed by the fast response, I will be looking for you guys. I usually don't get in game until nine at night, my time. But for sure on Sunday. Even if most of you are in a different time zone, at least the weekends should be fun. :D

I've read through your post and think I would be a nice fit in your FC!

Would you accept a few people from the same old FC?
Our leader left the FC after the free sub time, so we disbanded and recreated a small FC with the intention of recruiting fellow casual, likable players.
But have found it very hard to garner any attention.

I would like to join your FC, but would feel a lot better about it, if my friends could move over too (if they so wish).
Our small FC is called Shoopuf Express.

A bit about myself:
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I used to raid for crazy hours back in Vanilla Wow, but have since settled down and have limited time to play (due to long work hours and kids). But I still manage an hour or two most nights.
I'm looking for a nice relaxing FC, but who have the intention of grouping and possibly raiding if members and time allowances allow.

In theory it is not a problem for you and your friends to join. We are having a fair amount of members but there's still room for more, especially now that FF XIV has settled down and some of the initial players loose their steam and play less.

There is one thing I have to ask of you though... I'd appreciate if your friends apply individually (either on the forums or by contacting me or an officer ingame).

As much as they are all welcome, I'd feel uncomfortable inviting a group of people that no one (in our FC) has ever talked to or knows anything about. Any nice and relaxed player who is looking for a nice and relaxed FC is welcome to join, we'd just prefer to get a feel if that's the case before we invite someone :)

I'll see if I can find you ingame so we can talk a bit more. My own play schedule is rather chaotic though until Friday, so don't worry if you don't see me online that much in the next two days.

There is no scheduled events/raids or anything that you HAVE to join. You don't really HAVE to talk to us all the time either.

But we are a social bunch, we like to chat and we like to do group conetent together. Even though it's not required to participate in that, this is the core of our FC.

Im currently doing the endgame content but Im not a very experienced player since this game is my first mmo. In real life Im a 33 year old guy from Sweden that have been gaming for 25 years but not these kind of games. Can I join?

Especially you, Teifaron will probably have a better chance if you look for Kimiko, as she is our most active officer during US peak hours. You'll probably find her a lot quicker than me.

Second... just a little update:

Well, it's getting time for us to tighten recruitment a bit. That's not because we don't want any new people. But lately we're getting more and more people who only want to join because we're active, big and have a shiny website.

The opening post describes in detail what type of player we're looking for. We're a casual and social FC. We are looking for people who don't take the game too seriously, for people who like to make friends and play with their friends. We like people who ask "Does anyone need help with anything?" rather than "Who can help me with...?" all the time.

I'm just getting way too many tells ingame lately that are basically "Can I join ur guild and haz free stuff?".

We have not closed recruitment, but we're getting more selective. We still don't care about your class, your level or your gear, but no one is getting in anymore until me, or the officer you're dealing with is convinced you understand what the FC is about and have a genuine interest in it.

If you want to make it easier, you can apply here or on our forums and tell us about yourself, what you look for in a FC, what you enjoy in the game, etc. If you don't want to do that, just contact us ingame, but expect a lengthy interview :)

Hello! I believe your FC is just what I have been looking for. I am a former FFXI player, and I have been playing FFXIV since day 1 (even beta tested so my name is in the credits, haha).

IRL I am a 36 year old guy in Denver, CO USA. I play for fun, not for accomplishments or glory. I typically play FFXIV on weekends while I watch football. I am very friendly, sometimes funny, and always willing to help. I've been figuring out everything on my own, so I am not the type that is going to ask for a ton of help (I know to look it up online), but it would be nice to have other people to chat with in game, and to help out on dungeons and things.

Anywho, if you see this, let me know how to go about joining up. With the holiday (in the States) this week, I am not sure when I will be online next, but I look forward to meeting you all!

Hi there! I recently bought the game and I'm looking forward to socialize with the rest of Eorzea. Long time FF fan but never played FFXI. In FFXIV, I just want to quest and get shiny stuff from monsters. I will probably play the game for a few months and try to convince some of my friends to join.

As far as more personal stuff is concerned, I'm 26 and currently living in Poland, writing my Ph.D. I enjoy reading conversations mostly, I'm more of a quiet lurker, but like to join in at times. Sometimes, I might make a stupid joke but I mean well. What do you say? :D

Speaking of which, it's fortunate you play mainly on weekends. We do have a good handful of NA players around and the odd european who does shiftwork but NA evenings tend to be rather quiet during the week. Weekends though we're busy throughtout the day.

Hi i have a fc but its very cliquey and not really involved in it. Im an older casual gamer trying to complete slowly but struggling to get on in dungeons and encountering abuse. Be nice to join an active casual fc. Thanks. Not sure how i swap fcs though.

I guess it's time to give you another update on our current status for anyone interested.

As the game has been out for a while now most of our members have accumulated around lvl 40-50. There is still a good few people at lower levels and off-classes being levelled, but the majority of our players have shifted towards the later stages of the game.

We do have a core of about 40 active members who play regularly, leaving us with about 25 people online during EU peak hours and 5-10 during main NA and AUS peak time.

Our activities are a happy mix of endgame stuff (We're working on killing titan hardmode with a pure FC group, have a hand full of people who already got past titan and everything before titan is pretty much easy "farming". We don't do coil yet but probably will when more of the FC are ready for it.), but we also do any of the pre-50 dungeons if anyone needs them and have a good few social events set up (e.g. a monthly FC picture, chocobo races, hide and seek, a quizz run, etc).

All of the content we do, including the endgame stuff, is done casually without much stress and no set schedules people are forced to attend to. It is fun and easygoing, but as a result also a lot slower than in a progression FC.

Most of our members come from all across europe, with the odd australian and american. In european time we're most busy in the evenings with a good few members online in the afternoon and usually only a few in the mornings. Weekends are busy throughout the day. Most of our events are taking place around 8 pm GMT+0.

We are having a ventrilo server, but joining is optional. We mainly use it for tough primal fights, and occasionally for just chatting.

We also initiated a mentoring system to supply new members with someone to help them settle in, or give advice and help with actual gameplay, should it be desired.

Hey there. Im looking for a FC now. I have been having a hard time getting into this game because of the pressure and drama that ive encountered. I played FF11 for years and, yah, there was always a few morons, end gamers that knew it all, but i was ok with that. Starting this game as a Glad/PLD was so much fun, till i started partying. I was a good tank in FF11. Well, in FF14, according to my first two dungeon runs, where i was swore at, asked if i was drunk or just afk the whole time, told to just leave, i figured maybe i wasnt cut out for tanking in this game. So i started up some DPS. Less swearing but still so much pressure and no communication. So in short, (lol) im just looking for a group that just wants to have fun. I get pressure and drama at work all day. I dont find getting yelled at in game as a fun way to relax. I just want to enjoy this game again.:D

I am a mature old-timer looking for a friendly, casual and stress free FC.
I have played MMOs since the beginning of DaoC and plowed through most games I have come across. From running a competitive guild way back in the DaoC days to being a casual player with family/job taking up most of my time. Now I just enjoy exploring the various ascpects of the games at my own pace. Playing this game though I realise I am missing out on a lot not being in a FC and I miss some friendly chatting with some likeminded people.

I have only played FFXIV for a month and I am just exploring the various classes trying to decide what to focus on. Leaning toward a Summoner or a Scholar... or a Bard... or a Warrior... or.. too many options! I realise I have to pick one and play through the Main Quest first! At the moment a Arcanist.... I think.

You guys seem like a FC that would fit me perfectly

At the very core of our Free Company is enjoying this game together in a stress free and friendly environment. We all like to enjoy everything FFXIV has to offer without the pressure and elitist attitude a lot of progression FCs have but also avoid the lack of familiarity and teamwork that plagues most of the "invite anything that moves" FCs.

There are two things that all of us have in common, and those two things I (and the others as well) are looking for in an applicant.

1. We like to do things together. No matter if it's just running dungeons, or chatting about Indian cuisine, we like to be social and we like to be friends. If you are not looking for that, we are probably not the right FC for you.

2. We like to enjoy the game without stress, drama or being told when and how to play. No member will ever be told by me or any officer to level a certain class/job for a raid, to be available for certain times or to play their characters in any specific way. In return we ask you to respect the other members real life responsibilities and choices just as much as you'd like your own respected.

Vagabond Knights recently purchased a house (Catnip Manor) in Lavender Beds, Ward 1, Plot 15 so our members have been busy decorating and experimenting with the house/furniture designs.

I work some rather odd hours, so I don't really have a set playtime... I'd love a 9-5 Mon-Fri but it seems that just isn't in the cards.
