and THIS SE is how you kill your game you'll make super hard encounters that require exact movement...and then kill them with your poor lag design.....give it a little while enough people will say fuck it and leave the higher lvl I get the more I say it.....I can only down some bosses on pure luck not skill just luck that the lag gods get where I am standing and not where it thinks I am
with EVERY boss having a aoe or something that will almost if not kill you in one shot this should be the FIRST THING YOU FIX!!!!!!!! FORGET EVERYTHING EVERYTHING ELSE FIX YOU SHITTY LAG NOW!!!!!!!! OR YOUR GAME WILL DIE AND YOUR MONEY WILL DISSAPEAR NO ONE WILL PAY FOR A GAME WITH SHITTY SERVER LAG.
Easy way to see this lag is to cast teleport to somewhere then move immediately after you hit cast, see how far the time went down before it canceled. You don't get charged gil until the teleport completes so don't worry about that. I regularly have .4-1sec counted to before interrupted, this needs to be fixed!
Am currently on Ridill legacy.
During Garuda Hm i had to be raised twice due to aoe which on my screen i was out of and hiding safely next to my teamates.
When the aoe hits 2 seconds later, i get hit for xxxx and drop dead right there in between them....
How about the swiftcast button.... that is great with this lag.. sure it works but after what?? In between the sleep being clicked and the mob sleeping i eat 3 aoes from them.. So much for instant cast with this type of lag.
Some of the videos linked on here are exactly what happens to me in many dungeons, the best example is the one linked with the Titan fight where the player moves out of landslide and still gets 1 shotted off.
Now, how the hell do you expect to get past a boss that has a lot of mechanics which requires you to be 'on the ball at all times' while fighting him with lag like that???

I have to agree... all week there's been lag spikes and delays and "fast Forwarding" and pausing and well.. it's just making each dungeon impossible.
Started last Sunday, I guess they are having memory issues server side??

The encounters are NOT in themselves super hard, the lag makes them so ;)
It's not truly a lag or latency issue as some have pointed out - it's just really, really bad server-side coding. 300ms polling intervals is ridiculous.
No one serious enough to farm end game content will tolerate something this game breaking. This will destroy the game and it will die in a few months time
As an Oceanic player the logical server choice was Tonberry with the other Oceanic community , unfortunately by the time I got access to the game this server was locked. Due to the language barrier we opted for a Na/Eu server until the restrictions were lifted and server transfers opened. We are still waiting for these functions. Currently we are using Lowerping to bring out Latency down to the low 200’s but coupled with the 300ms from the server makes things like Titan impossible. This also becomes frustrating in large fates with one shot mechanics as player skill is irrelevant in the ensuing massacre for anyone with more than 50Ms. Looking at latency of the JPY servers a latency of 180Ms is reasonable enough in a MMO but again not coupled with the weight of the 300Ms server. Looking forward to any form of end game a combined latency of 500 doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence in what for all other intensive purposes is an entertaining MMO with some work has a lot to offer the genre
Let me guess, this is 10 pages with either agreement or people in denial. To the hardcore community(even casuals probably) of mmo players this is typically unacceptable, to the normal ffxi player it'd just result in a confused look. If they do pvp without changing this, it'll just be a laughing stock, most people new players aren't painfully aware of this problem until they start primals.

something else i've noticed about the casting while moving is it does seem the server believes you haven't moved until it finishes.
Like when fighting titan and casting a heal and a plume appears under me so i start running. Physically on my screen I move the same distance and clear it every time but if the spell finishes casting the plume damage will follow while if i get the spell canceled notice the plume does not hit me.
It's strange but I've found it to be true and in my case spells will go .8-.9s before stopping
Game is going to end up with slightly better numbers than 1.0 in 6 months, unless they address these issues, nobody who has played WoW, Tera, GW2 and Aion are going to put up with these shitty mechanics, especially when they add extreme mode primals and Bahamut fights in 2.1.
There are times when the servers have a random lag spike but it doesn't happen often maybe like once every 3-4 days. There is a like 1.5 sec delay on instant abilities but that is just game design. I have so far never had any problems with any of the fights or moving out of stuff. Most people complain about Titan the thing is they aren't pre moving when ripples come out which you have to do. My FC can beat it very consistently. People just need to learn to play better and stop blaming lag. There is some lag at times but its not as bad as people on here make it out to be.

Question: Do you have a comparison? Have you played a "version" where you have zero "lag"? How can you be sure its because of the "lag" if you haven't experienced "lag free" gaming. Why do you want less lag If the game mechanic is bad anyways?
Personally I experience around a half second time difference on Pheonix from europe. On the short timed aoe circles in Primal fights or anywhere else, I get hit unless I move immediately but i never have to move before that or anticipate the move.
Lag free gaming...what, you haven't played a game where the controls are silky smooth? Wth u trying to say?
How can you be sure it's lag...stuff that happens on your screen does not represent what is actually happening perhaps?

I'm playing in EU, I'm in a guild that sells Titan kills. And those same people that killed Titan dozens and dozens of times can still die coz of shitty Canada datacenters. Yesterday was like so bad, Titan was teleporting around, being invisible and stuff. For people all over EU. So yeah...developers fault however you look at it. Gz for being one of the people that can actually play the game somewhat "as intended".

yesterday i was running CM as offtank and at last boss when she spawn that big colosus hes doing that narrow frontal knockback i tried running straight through him he kicked me behind his back instead of infront of him, i was like wtf? how is that possible when its supposed to be lag?
also sometimes i see ppl get hit by aoes even when i see them out on my screen, thats also weird.
