Body Hair for males.

I, as a hirsute man myself, fully support chest hair on Lalafell.

Why am I not surprised to see who the thread starter is :P

I support it only if it doesn't look like ants are crawling on men's chests.

I'm okay with the option being available. Personally I wish there were more facial options for male Mi'qote... instead of, you know, just the one.

A fat/thin slider should come first imo.

It's possible, but would require a tremendous amount of work.


FFXIV uses very low poly character models, designed to have the lowest topology possible for each particular body shape/style, the enitre body mesh would require a complete overhaul in order to do this.

Does this include shoulder or back hair?

Regarding body shape and body hair, I always thought they should have at least a set number of pre configured options for those things, similar to the face options. They could have different thicknesses and proportions (like our face type options) and hairiness/tattoo options (just like our current facial hair and scar options for faces). Maybe 4 options of each type (shape and details, so 8 total) per gender per race or something.

Also, backs need a hair option, don't forget that!

Lastly, the lala FSH guild leader needs chest hair. It would just suit him so well ^_^

I definitely approve of a body hair option for men! =D

All for more customization options. It be nice to add scars/marks/etc... alongside body hair. It be nice to show some arm scars and the like without having to have the generic placements and 'X' scars on our faces. :/

I don't see why Hyur males shouldn't have the option.

The others.. I'm not so sure about. But that's something for the lore team to decide. Typically in fantasy, the 'pretty' races have no body hair whatsoever. Not saying that's WHY it shouldn't be. But I don't know the thought process behind the aesthetics behind the races in the lore.

Though I will say this... I have a theory that all races are just different 'humans' as they are referenced in the game as 'mankind'. And if that is true, I say go for it on all races. If not, we'll have to see how the lore writers respond to it.

I'm not a were-bear irl but neither am I a hairless monkey, it would be nice SE if you could give a legitimate range of hair options (body hair) - including... eyebrows!? lol

It's hard to make a bad character in this game. It's like the game forces us to be fashion models. I would really enjoy playing an overweight dude with a gigantic pink mustache.

I don't like the idea simply cause call of duty tried to hype people up with arm hair for their game.

Probably the most single crappy advertisement of a game I have seen in a long time.

Though it's not the point, point is the only one gonna be looking at your chest hair would be you, just like they wouldn't look at the arm hair in Call of duty while gunning them down, though would be covered up all the time with armor and would be a waste of time.
Plus we don't need wookies running all over the place hahaha

100% agree. They didn't scrimp on the enormous chest capabilities of the female characters, so give us men some chest hair!

(And while we're on the topic - female characters have "boob jiggle" when they're in the fighting stance, so we should also get some dong wiggle!)

Stuff like that would completely ruin immersion, and will never happen. If people want nonsense like that, they can go play Saints Row. Also, we are adventurers who spend their time mostly running around and fighting, it makes complete sense that you can't have some overweight character running around. I am for more body types though, just...they need to make sense.

I do have to say though, it looks like you've already done a good job making a rather silly looking character. :P

Personally, I think the perfect guy is big boned, cuddly (not squishy, not like hugging a rock, just a gentle in-between) but not particularly body hairy.

I support body hair as an option but please only as an option, let those who prefer to go without go without.

Some body fuzz for my Nunh would be wonderful~

Just realized my character looks weird now - missing thick body hair on back (shoulder to butt) and hands all over. Also SE must implement the sweat stains on clothing otherwise I feel my toon incomplete.

If the current reason is against more features "PS3" then when they dump the PS3 I hope they revamp their character customization system (PS3 excuse may actually be legitimate.. lol), when first made ARR's system was already lagging a little but by then it would be behind in terms of features and customization.
