Yeah, people keep filling pages complaining about the downtime hour and forget to keep asking for the important informations. I'm stuck in Phoenix and my friends that migrated from another game are playing on Odin. We lost contact prior to the game launch and found out about them too late. I made a character there just in case, but I came too far on my original character to just start over. Would love to know if we will be getting the server transfer tomorrow or next week... or maybe only next month? I know SE has a big issues to fix but the "friends playing on different servers" are not a small one and they SHOULD have, at least, said that they unfortunately have no plans to implement the server transfer yet this week.
What.
I'm not the only person who has read the Malazan Book of the Fallen?
Back on subject, I really thought we left all this "omg, how dare they do maint during NA primetime" whining behind in FFXI like... five years ago. Not playing for one night isn't going to kill anyone. There's plenty of other things to do.
I must have the worst work schedule, because maintenance starts right as I get off work lol. The good thing is, I need a whole night to catch up on my DVR'd shows anyways.
Oh americans thinking the world revolves around them.
copy/paste from my translation thread
First one is related to tomorrow's patch so thought would be good to have it here.
Removed below, Camate got the official translation up :D

That item level score... Will it be visible for others or only for yourself? o.o
You mean like if someone checks you out? Doesn't say in that original text, but when joining end game content if your score is below whatever score set for that dungeon/content you're not going to be able to get in for sure. (unless it's an option someone clicks in Duty Finder to make sure the party meets that requirement)
It will probably be visible to others on inspection, and they actually had Ilvl visible in your character screen as noticeable from an alpha test screenshot. I have no Idea why they didn't carry that over in the first place, but it would have made people actually gear up appropriately for a lot of stuff people be entering the duty finder really undergeared for.
And I hope the party invitation board is similar to the one in 1.0. It worked wonders, and would have worked even more wonders had they actually properly explained how to go about using it both ways.
No big deal...there are other things, and other games I can catch up on :)
Yup. For myself I'd like it only visible for myself so I know if I need to gear up more for stuff.
Heard that this feature was/is in other games too and people get judged by that score :/
Concerning the DM and Repairs: Yay! But still I'd love to gather DM again and put up repair requests.
Will you guys be adding more legacy servers? or at least one? or even letting legacy characters move to a new server? >_>
Greetings,
The development team is aware that there are times when you cannot participate in content so easily and without worry, and I’d like to let you know future countermeasures we have planned to address this.
- Significantly reduce repair fees and the cost of dark matter
While the focus will be placed on high-levels, we will be significantly lowering the overall fees for repair and the cost of dark matter.
- Addition of item level requirements for high-level dungeon participation
We'll be adding a requirement to participate in high-level dungeons and hard mode primal battles that will make it so you need to have equipment above a certain item level equipped to participate. To coincide with this, we will be implementing a system that will display the average item level for your gear in the character window.
- Addition of a party recruitment window
We'll be implementing a bulletin board type of system where you can recruit party members that are only on your world. When recruiting, you can indicate the dungeon you would like to do, the roles you are looking to recruit, the levels, etc. (We'll be announcing the details soon.)
We will be addressing #1 after the maintenance tomorrow, and #2 and #3 will be implemented after patch 2.1.
yea tired of DFing Titan hard cuz the rest of my FC isnt there yet and ending up with a bunch of people in full af thinkin they are gonna replace their Aetherial weapon they got in Aurum Vale with a Titan Weapon
Mant is at the same time for all worlds...authentication servers are all in JP, is what allows us to create characters on those servers, so when they go down all worlds go down.
NA is only a data center, no devs or mant team.
Actually what SE is doing is what any successful international compaly would do, screw the less possible ammount of customers.
Mant times are:
8AM - 6PM +/- hours in Japan, Australia, SE Asia. Office hour are like in the rest of the world from 9am-10am to 5pm-6pm. Mant ends when their prime time starts.
2AM or 3AM - 11AM or 12PM in Europe (Lon, Par, Ber respectively).Thats an off hour, everyone is at their work or school
5PM - 3AM in NA (PDT) prime time for NA
If you think NA has more customers than JP + Aussies + Europe combined, then I want some of what you're smoking
And no...no company does different maints for their servers, Blizzard doesn't do it, NCsoft doesn't do it, Bioware doesn't do it, Nexxon doesn't do it, no way SE is going to do it
Why not help the rest of your FC or friends get to the point where you can do it together? These kind of fights used to be community checked.
I like the idea for PUGs but not for parties you make with friends. Skill and teamwork are more important than gear. If I'm missing gear for a dungeon but can complete it with free company members, I would really rather not farm useless gear for 10 hours or whatever just so I can do the dungeon easier.
These are great, but a few suggestions;
1) Make it so that there's a repair window similar to a materia window where you can repair all items at once that are repairable by your current class.
Ex: I'm on GSM and I open up the repair window. All items are listed, with check boxes next to them. I can check the ones I want to repair or hit the 'repair all' button to repair everything that's repairable in my armoury box with GSM.
2) THANK YOU. Probably not an issue, but might want to look into minimum stats (both str/int/dex and def) as a secondary check since some ilvl gear is arguably worse than the lower ilvl gear.
3) I'm assuming this can be for DF stuff and non DF stuff, ie chimera/hydra, etc.
ilvl restrictions are always met with resistance, personally I believe none of the current dungeons are hard enough to actually require one but meh, if they say so since it'll be rolled out in 2.1 some day months from now probably. I could definitely see ilvl restrictions being useful for titan though.. but while they're at it they should fix the DF build for Titan since 2 tanks just makes no sense for a single mob unless they thought tanks would be switching like WoW after mountain buster or something (without a stacking debuff on a tank that won't happen).
Guess those whiners will have even less to complain about regarding gil now.
And aww, no more all-AF pick-up groups!? >.> Thank gawd.
I'd rather the game tell me my gear isn't adequate enough for content rather than some pretentious a-hole of a group leader gear checking people when their own gear isn't even up to par.
Nice changes all around. Probably good #2 is coming in after 2.1 though as we have hardcore groups trying to clear BCoB with gear that makes the content extremely challenging. I hope this doesn't cause issues in the future.
Guessing you've already cleared all turns of Binding Coil then?
When are the developers looking to address only checking our location every 0.3 seconds? this is currently making certain encounters incredibly frustrating for players outside of NA when combined with the fact were all at 150ms, we're potentially facing a half second server delay currently.
Thank you.
Can't wait for the avg item level requirement tired of getting people in all AF on Titan.
but how do we make gil? there's still not enough gil to be made
thx for notice
Open Hyperion.
And all you had to do was put dark matter back to gathering instead of lowering repair cost to please the casuals.
To all those crying about the time again, when we see 10hr maintenance, everyone gets hit and some worse than others. JP lose almost the entire day, and with strick login restrictions right after maint for the first few hours cuts out most of the rest of their prime time. When we start having normal few hour maintenance periods then we will see it being 4-5 hrs later most likely (i.e. JP early afternoon) giving us US players most of out peak times. but for 10hr major changes, dont expect a change to the time.
Now if they start taking the server down for 10hrs and don't fix anything, then we got a new issue and something to cry about. As long as they fix the things that need fixing and it does not stay a weekly thing, its one night, go do something outside FFXIV.
I also feel we should all get a free one time world transfer as my girlfriend and nephew have been locked out of Ultros even though they have both had the game from launch and my girlfriend played last day of open beta but still couldn't get on Ultros! Needless to say it is very frustrating haveing my FC/LS all set up but still not haveing 2 of its most important (to me) members locked out! Please adress this.
