So far, my worst derps are forgetting to turn Defiance on after switching classes for the queue...I'm only lv39, so I fully expect to derp more (especially once I start running AK/WP with my relic friends)

After first wipe on caduceus not putting shield oath back on for 2nd try.

Was messy lol

After Caduceus split, both were down to about 20%, turned off defiance, got murdered before i realized it happened. It happens :D, whoops.

during a botched titan HM attempt i slowly walked over the edge after he jumped. it was pretty damn funny.

Not my story but, our main tank stands in the red zone after first Titan HM jump. Forgot that he can't do that for any other jump...dropped into the abyss below.

My worst was soon after hitting 50 and venturing into AK for story ( before it was changed to AV). I had been up all night busting ass to hit 50 and was tired as hell. At least twice I fell asleep, the second time on the demon wall. I woke up dead in the pit with no one in my group ><

Another sleepy one, this one from a guildy. He had taken cough syrup not long before garuda and ended up falling asleep and running right into the tornado and just kept going.

Auto Running into the boss fight....Trying to use cover when someone is out of range....

While tanking titan, didnt realize i was still wearing snows costume, tanked for a while though...died because i sneezed, walked through titan and got shot out of the platform thanks to landslide via mach 3 speed :D

Damn, this thing is still going well. Good derps and herps my fellow tanks!

Had a major derp while helping my FC mate on Garuda HM. So everyone is doing what they're supposed to, and we get her down to less than 5%. That's when her 2 adds pop out. Instead of tanking her adds, I think hey we can DPS her down without worrying about the adds... WRONG! We wipe and I end up dying in the FC chat. xD

My very first embarrassing tanking derps were on the Haukke Manor boss. I ran out of the boss' AoE into an exploding bomb *wipe*. Straight after the wipe I was so focused on moving my camera out that I forgot to turn Defiance back on, did so mid-fight and ending up running around like a blue assed fly, shouting for heals. Almost wiped again but luckily my healer did a great job /facepalm

Doing Qarn, turned the corner and started making targets when was suddenly I was like, oh hey it's that treasure guy. Switched marks and ran straight at it... aggroed the whole room -_-

Last boss in aurum vale, wasn't my fault but, my controller started to die on, and instead of plugging it in, I switched controllers altogether. Turned out it decided it wanted to have a screw loose and started making me preform actions without my input. Spent the last half of the fight running in random directions, targeting and attacking the fruit, popping my cd's unnecessarily... have no effin idea how I still managed to hold hate and not wipe us all lol. Well, it helped that a great group thankfully.

It has to be running in to tank and not having defiance on done it one most end stuff so far its not wiped the party by sheer luck.

Definitely running to Caduceus after a veeeeery looong day and realizing a tad too late that Shield Oath wasn't active...

I'm still ashamed of myself after that one xD

Hahahah AND this is why my sprint isn't keyed near my main combos.

Titan HM. Buddy of mine decided he wanted to try solo healing titan (this is back about 2 months ago), first shot, we got him down at 10%, line bombs drop. I tried to shift right to very center back edge to avoid the blast from both, and.... ended up falling off around 6%. They got him down to 1%, the last guy left was my buddy the WHM who was solo healing. Would have made for an epic video as he would have DPS'ed and been the last man standing on his solo titan heal, but they wiped at 1%. Ended up getting it the next try, but still, I felt awful about that one.

I normally keep Shield Oath on by default, just leave it on. Well when I was waiting to get a party together so me and my friend could get salt for our relics, I was durping around showing off my different gear sets and different classes. So we got a group together and got down to business. I ran up on chimera, lead him to the tree, but my HP was burning fast and the healers were having a time. I died, we all died, I was the only tank. I had forgotten to turn on Shield Oath, because I'm so use to it just being on. No hate though, they all had a laugh at me and I did too. We tried again and burned him down no problem. Biggest derp where I knew better for sure.

At least I had 2nd wind and didn't wipe that time lol

Starting pull at Twintania, Warrior Off tank, I had to grab the 3 adds. After I was face rolled within seconds, I realized I didn't have Defiance on....
Leader - "Why did Pacifica die there?"
Healer - "His HP went to 0.."
Me - "Well I'm an idiot, and never turned on Defaince... So... There's that..."

The first time we were doing Turn 2 progression I was tanking on warrior in those days.

I kept screwing up taunts because I was getting stunned. All the time, at the worst time imagineable I would just be stun locked for like 2 or 3 seconds and no clue why.

Then after a week or so of having this issue our WHM is like dude, are you pacified, and I'm like what? And he's like, yeah don't you have a skill that pacifies you for 5 seconds when it wears off?

That ringing a bell I'm like OHHH YEAAAAH, Berserk... Dohhhhhhhh completely forgot about it, it never having been an issue up till that point.

So now I have this awesome macro that's like

Problem solved.

But I tank on Paladin now, will go back to war when 2.1 comes out.

Forgetting to put up Shield Oath. (once)

Tanking Garuda on east side instead of West on 2nd phase (wasn't agreed upon with party they were not used to it could not addapt)

Extra:: Spinning a Dulluhan to triple kill my Lalafell Party, that was on purpose.

Was helping a friend with Titan, he was a tank but the group couldn't keep him up, so I came in to tank, all was going well and I was moving to get out of range for a burst.. and.. I walk off the edge.

Titan Hard Mode: I was trying to do MT, then before the heart stage I accidental backed off the edge.

When I play tank I often forget to turn Defiance on too after a wipe -_-;

Yesterday on Caduceus I was really bad at bringing slimes when I was playing BRD, feeling like the 6 wipes were entierely my fault >.<;

Was running CM to help a couple FCmates with story progression. Last boss, the giant add pops. I was a second slow picking it up (as off tank). It walked over to the WHM, basically slapped him once, WHM died.

Good thing the WHM is my RL friend, I don't think he was *too* upset about it. >_>

When I first got to 50 and was trying to get my Ifirit Weapon, I was in the fight and having keyboard trouble. I was still able to tank fine, but enough people ate plumes that we decided to wipe and try again. As soon as we re-spawn, my keyboard locked into auto run before protect or anything. I was looking away from the screen and didn't notice anything until Ifirit was face smacking me into the ground with people yelling at me that I was an idiot.

I thought I'd be clever and dodge bomb boulders on titan HM and got the entire party mountain buster'd :)

I was running AV, and on Ventrillo with my healer friend. He said "Man. This trash is hitting you hard." I looked at where I was standing.. Yeah, I was in yellow lol. It was one of those times where I just wasn't really paying attention because it was trash. Doh!

My PS3 controller died during the last boss in Cutters Cry. It took me about 10 seconds to realize why my character was stuck jogging in a large circle around the perimeter of the boss room. Took another 10-15 seconds to switch control over to my second controller, all the while doing this jog around the room while the boss chases me. Somehow, we survived :D

I've had a few accidental-lock-on-omg-wtf-did-I-press derps as well.

Same happened to me yesterday, but with wireless keyboard running out of batteries during a Garuda HM right after the pull. Fun xD

Tank all of AK without Sheild Oath.... never lost agro, but I kept wondering why I was taking so much damage.

Pulling Ifrit with Regen on. Pull with toma, lose agro, provoke toma, Ifrit runs right back to WHM and beats his face in. Got called a Fail tank for that one.

Tanking Ifrit HM with bronze dagger, oopsie

Running CM as the OT.
Last boss final phase.
"Oh, she's about to do her big attack on the MT... I wonder what will happen if I use Cover on h-"
Insta Death.
Colossus pops.
Can't grab it because I'm laying on the ground.
Awesome healer throws a rez, I Provoke the big add and act like nothing happened.
Healers are still wondering why I died.


In my defense, the group was doing perfectly well. A bunch of Relic+1 and even a guy Lv50@class. The risk was worth the investigation.
Now I know.

Had a moment where During AK with my friends (all in vent) im saying middle middle middle for repel, except im the only one that doesn't go to middle and proceeded to get knocked off.

Had another one where i had my snow costume on and decided i was going to help someone with hydra, only problem was, i forgot to take the costume off and after i zone in, i realize i have to tank Hydra with the blazefire sword xD And i was the only tank in that run too.

ive had ALOT more but these are the only two that i remember lol

I showed Titan's heart my uncontainable jubilation a couple dozen times between smirking at him before we all wiped the first time my friends and I attempted Titan. Then there were those times I accidentally popped my Limitbreak in Haukke Manor when I was a noob and the party wiped due to adds. To my credit, we didn't wipe as fast as we would have without my limitbreak.

Took me several runs of Praetorium before I figured out why Ultima Weapon (first fight) would suddenly ignore me at the start of the fight and chase the healers for awhile.

Stupid defensive buff making him take essentially no damage until Hydaelyn pimp slaps him once - hadn't noticed because I practically never look at my damage numbers, especially on bosses with large character models. Made a mental note to spam Flash at the start from now on. Should make for some interesting wipes for the incoming HM if he still has his defense buff. Also made a note to not blow threat cooldowns on the pull, heh.
