I think the general consensus is that Summoner is a waste of time for anything requiring a tight DPS check.

I think the general consensus is that Summoner is a waste of time for anything requiring a tight DPS check.
That's because they played it for 3 mins at end game before Rage Quitting.
You can speed run Garuda with Summoner. Not sure why people don't realize that constant DPS and any range from any position pretty much beats everything.
Plus, BLM AoE LB and Quickcast Res which no other DPS has.
Not on this thread.
Very nice job, can't wait to start running this in a year or two lol.
Just got one question: Is there any kind of important storyline progress in it or for now is just some minimal "Bahamut is down here, go get him boys"?
There is no true consensus on SMN output. We haven't explored its potential in Coil yet. Looking at the other groups doing Coil now, there's a fair amount of job versatility which is really cool to see.
Congratulations to everyone coming through.
Similar to the question asked a couple pages back about gear checks on this content, but I do a lot of crafting and have been discussing with my FC about the i70 crafted vs Darklight and whether the high token cost of special materials (like potash/coke/etc.) are worth it when you can get DL with less work. Are you guys bothering with melded i70 crafted gear or do you think Darklight is sufficient (or better perhaps; I have not experimented with stat caps on the crafted i70 stuff) mixed with other appropriate i60 drops or HQ melded militia gear? Not asking for everyone's exact gear list just an estimate, if you could. Thanks and good luck pushing forwards.
Synapse (non-legacy, SEA/Oceanic ping) just got into Binding Coil, really looking forward to progressing through it =)
Its almost to the point where Legacy and Non-Legacy is equal. Legacy's only real remaining advantages are materia, but ilvl90 gear is stronger than materia gear and the ilvl 70 DL is nearly identical to the much more expensive crafted gear. And then of course, job flexibility. There's been enough time that has passed where non-legacy should have sufficient L50 crafters and gatherers and enough time has passed for them to have full ilvl70 Darklight/relic (which is what legacy players are using for the most part) on at least 1 job.
Guys this thread is suppose to be to document progress for some of the best FC in the game. Please don't ask a million questions about classes and crap. Send them a PM or something. Just my 2c.
Just a heads-up: we've had two occasions now where our groups have gotten stuck in Turn 2 after wiping. Basically, the game tries to return everyone to the entrance, but it infinitely hangs, and when you recover by restarting the client, everyone is stuck, dead, unable to return, move, etc.

Can you access the binding coil through Duty-Finder?
In Coild of Bahamut, a comparison between BRD, BLM, and SMN. Do you think which one is the best?
I think that BRD probably be most useful there? SMN gonna have a hard time to keep pet alive if the timing is tight, and BLM probably couldn't cast so much spell too if they need to evade often.
Turn 1: caster ring, caster head
Turn 2: caster bracelet, tank ring
Although warloc...ahem summoner isn't the job i wanted it to be, they are monsters: they can pump out DoT while being more mobile than any class other than bard; they can off-off-heal. they have a swiftcast, in combat raise which no other non-healer class can do; their pets take 90% reduced damage from most magical AoE and some physical AoE; they can pump out a respectable amount of burst damage in a 30 second time frame; they bring the caster limit break to the table; they have soft CC; they have an off-off-tank; they have a pet that looks like chicken nuggets. what more verification of summoners usefulness do you need?
square did a surprisingly good job balancing each and every JOB. when played to perfection i feel that each JOB stacks up quite evenly.
So basically, you are saying that despite in the very end-game content where movement is the most important. Having to control pet while dodging is not issue then? A first, I thought SE would do something like "use "place" command to place the pet correctly or it die" as their end-game. (I thought of this as soon as I see the command to move pet)
But they give them 90% resistant and ability to re-summon them with no penalty instead..
Im just going to throw this out there.....how the #*@& are you suppose to finish turn 4? Like seriously how does anyone have enough dps for this?

Grats guys, keep it up!
It will be ages before I am able to attempt this as I actually take my time and read everything. I'm also going for achievements. Pretty much taking my sweet time and have started over 3 times now with a new character with level 25 as my peak. This seems so far away to me, lol.
So based on things I've read in various places this dungeon, or dungeons depending on how you look at it, come before The Crystal Tower, or The Crystal Tower comes before it once implemented?
So it would go . . .
-Binding Coil of Bahamut
-The Crystal Tower (or this before Coil)
-The Great Labyrinth of Bahamut
That or maybe this is The Great Labyrinth of Bahamut with a name change. Does anyone know the answer to this or is it still a mystery? It can't be The Great Labyrinth of Bahamut if it's possible to beat it without needing Crystal Tower gear as I thought there was a gear check in place that would require Crystal Tower gear to complete The Labyrinth.
Sorry if this is a n00b question, but it's all really confusing.
Sorry for the brief off-topicness but, I spy a Magic the Gathering player and a Skyrim player, lol.
the farthest ive seen is 3 dreads dropped....
Does Coil drop any allagan gold pieces?
Crystal Tower is meant to be done before the Coil of Bahamut, its just not in the game.
Coil will be easier with full ilvl85 gear, but CT is in 2.1 so you gotta try to beat it with ilvl70 and 90 drops by then!
Binding Coil of Bahamut (大迷宮バハムート): Turn 4 Complete

All we can say is -- that fight is tuned to absolute perfection with ilvl 80 weapons and ilvl 70 gear (and some Holy Shields +1).
Good stuff.
The taru changed his hair color. :3
So is there any european guild that is progressing the Coil at the moment?
I gave this topic a quick look but it doesn't seem like there's one. Just wondering if we are the first one to kill Titan (hard) with this shitty ping of 130ms :/
Currently 4 members of this team are in Europe :)
