Same issue 3h and still out from the game! That's not good....

This same garbage, again. I don't know if this is a bug, or if it's intentional... But it's bad. Error 1017 is a good way to lose business. At least let us transfer to a less crowded world if this is what's going to keep going on...

Trying to log in for hours... I must assume this is because of the lowered character limit for the servers but I'm sure, because there is no auto-disconnect, anyone who has been able to log in this evening is just staying on, AFK or not, because of these error messages, and we, the unlucky few are being left out in the cold...

same, they freaking sucks! they need to fire their team and hire Japanese guys to the US/EU

I'm also getting error 1017 while trying to log in, that is, when I can even see the sever lists

don't log in too many times with that error though or it'll lose the character server for around 5 minutes, leaving you to restart the client again and again until it works and you're back to error 1017 ;)

the little box telling you "the world is full" could be a bit politer or continue trying until there is an opening... but it leaves you to do all the work. It's really poor. Funny but poor.

if this error goes to launch, well... goodbye FF14 (again) we hardly knew ya... no matter how much most will stick by it, the damage would have been done and since this is their second time around, i doubt people will be "as" patient. :-/

i'm guessing they may have already lost half the console gamers before launch even begins, simply, as not many will be used to this level of MMORPG service that PC gamers are more than used too. Worse if this heads into a third day (The JP servers/data centres seem to be holding up the best)

Error 1017, either no queue and straight to 1017 or there is no NA/EU server list. Has been happening ALL DAY.

Albus Lupus, Behemoth. Been getting the same, some times before I even get to the character selection screen. Some times the NA/EU server list is unavailable, or will queue up only to get error 1017 again.



Update: Been trying to on for over 9 hours, server list is no longer glitching. However still getting 1017, Still hopeful it will be fixed. Will try again in the morning, good luck everyone. Check here for updates: https://twitter.com/FFXIV_NEWS_EN

same error here, but for people who are saying they will stop playing because of the errors that will be fixed, pls just why are you that impatient and nervous chill out a bitt, what you won't play a game in the next couple of years because these copuple of days you couldnt log in??? lol, just chilax peeps, no rush to the end of the world man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! run arround your room a bit or go and find someone to sleep with

Error 3102 and Error 1017. It first started with Error 90000.

Being this close to the official launch and having so many people pre-order the game, constant errors that keep PAYING customers from enjoying a service they have paid for can and will kill a new game dead in it's tracks. There shouldn't be this many errors with logging in. With the amount of MMO's that have come and gone, you would have thought that extensive research had been done on how to avoid such errors.

I LOVE the FF series, I'm addicted to WoW and D3, I've played in MANY MMO betas and have NEVER been this frustrated, nor have I seen this many errors keeping people from playing for such an extended period of time. If I owned a restaurant and you came in and ordered a $15 plate of food and I gave you a plate that looked like a horse took a $HIT on it, would you still eat it? No, you'd walk out furiously, demanding your money back. THIS is what people are doing. We PAY to PLAY, if we CAN'T we see it as a huge waste of money and it WILL drive people away.

Simple question: If you can't play the thing they want you addicted to and paying for, how can you get addicted to it?

Error 1017 servers are full 24/7 during EA, what will happen when OL comes and tons more people are trying to log in when the servers aren't even big enough for EA? In fact there are so many stuck out of just EA that it's crashing The Lodestone and the Forums page that this blows my mind when I try to think about what will happen for OL. Increase the server size please.

Ok I get the fact you limit players to access, but to outright deny us access to the game cause you cant fix a is kinda stupid. Its really not our fault you (SE) didn't prepare for this an to top it off you don't let us in the game now even though you gave us early access to begin with, i'm sooo confused on how you run this. Granted I have not had a lot of issues almost none except the no access from all the down time to fix this game and now limited access to server cause of all the bugs. Can we get a downtime that actually fixes the issues an not some "that'll do for now" attempt?

Enjoying this game oh so much first didn't get to play but 30 mins in phase 4 and now my day off of work sat down to play got 1 hr and got thi error. Sweetness. Fix the servers please. I know limitations are set but you think they are set a little to low with how many people are on the server? Sorry just venting a bit.

Error 1017 like everyone else. However, unlike some people, I'm not going to pretend that SE has done this on purpose or that a super quick fix is even possible. We've had 4 beta phases and nothing this bad happened until the very end of Phase 4. Obviously, there are still issues, but moving out old servers and putting in new servers, upgrading the NA/EU servers, or even just devoting all their time to fixing the NA/EU servers does take time. It's a problem they didn't expect and they're doing their best to fix it. I'm upset too, but it's a bit early to start talking about cancelling your game and the like.

Now I can hear what you're thinking: "You'll keep defending it even months after release and this stuff is still happening!". Well, not only has it not come to that yet, but I'm going to say that it's hard for anyone to defend something that's objectively broken at that point so far beyond the official(!) release. So with that said, let's all take a chill pill and enjoy ourselves as soon as the problems are fixed.

So.. uhhh... That Aug. 27th Launch date? Yeeaaahhhh thats going to be like fanning the flames of a small forest fire onto a massive forest. The **** is going to literally hit the fan and drive off half the playerbase at this rate.

As to the login restrictions. Thats not going to help in the long run. Thats a terrible bandaide to the real issue, you need a ton more servers. Open up a bunch of new NA/EU worlds and allow players on congested worlds to migrate. Or even, I don't know, get the servers out of Canada.

Also, login restriction is like me going to a car dealership. Getting a new model car, but the car has a used car engine thats dying left and right. Get it home and salesman from car dealership knocks. He takes the keys away and says, " We don't feel like letting you drive at the moment. "

These bugs need to be fixed, I don't know why but the beta 3 + open ran so much smoother than this, what did they change?

Yesterday I got disconnected while teleporting and could not get back in, first getting the 10102 error, then occasionally the 90000 error, and sometimes unable to connect to NA/EU servers at all. At one point I got in to queue only to have it fail. This morning I can get to my character on the login screen, but then I get the server full message, no queue.

The people who keep comparing a small purchase like an MMO to a large scale investment like a car do know that such an argument is a strawman, right? And either way, SE isn't doing this to spite individual players. Plus, the only solutions I'm seeing are ones that would be as equally time consuming as running maintenance (BUY NEW SERVERS!! RELOCATE THE SERVERS!! etc.).
