I also would have to agree. I'm going to take it slow and really enjoy the game now.

Gotta take it slow now :D No reason to be in such a rush. Looking forward to the story
Taking it slow makes the game so much better. Take your time and enjoy the story and world or you will end up disappointed and feeling like its 'just another mmo'.
People tend to remember their first MMO the most fondly, thinking back, i bet none of you 'rushed' through it. Most likely you enjoyed the world, quests and stories around you, The enjoyment you felt completing the end game is because you felt connected to the character and game you were playing - because you didnt rush through it like it was a race, never taking notice of what you were doing.
Done the whole rushing and getting server first in WoW lich king, first 80, first LK kill, first legendary.. on server. In the end, it wasted a whole lot of my time, i got nothing for it and i would never do it again. Left a feeling of 'there is no content'. Which just is not true.
Not really going slow, im not going to stop and smell digital roses, but not rushing it either. Ill play a little bit of everything the game has on my way to end game (different roles, dungeons, crafting, etc) but I wont be wasting time either.
I always take my time when it comes to MMOs, and ARR is an MMO, so... There's no rush, in my opinion.
I just scheduled a whole afternoon of RL stuff Saturday and probably won't be back until 9pm! :D
I guess that qualifies as taking my time lol.
I'm gonna take my time and soak it all in. I'm gonna craft when I wanna. Gather when I wanna, level up when I wanna. I'm gonna play it like I play Skyrim. What's that?!?! Squirrel!!!!!!
I plan to unlock WHM asap. Then, unless I can't help myself and need to see more of the story, I plan to just stop and craft. I am very eager to craft! In every other game I have played, MMO or not, I hated crafting. But I really enjoy it in ARR.
That is, until someone prances about in some awesome looking gear they got from a leve or dungeon. Then I will drop what I'm doing and do what I must to try and get it.
I don't think raiding is out yet anyway so I'm in no particular rush. I plan on doing some crafting and gathering which I didn't do in beta so that should slow things down.
I'll be reading dialogue now, not skipping cutscenes
there's a ton of stuff to do though, so I probably won't be wandering around exploring much
I was stupid and made a new content ID for pre-order instead of using my beta one so my beta character isn't playable in early access. I'll probably rush a bit through the first 20 levels and then see how it's going. I have a really big fear of being left behind in MMO's, not sure why but I might overcome that for Final Fantasy. I will still enjoy the story regardless of how fast I'll be levelling.
First on the list for my level 20 ACN is to join The Maelstrom and farm FATES for seals for my chocobo. Next up is a dungeon grind rush to 25, (with continuing main story quests thrown in), so I can form my Free Company. From that point on, I'll be taking my time and enjoying the rest of what ARR has to offer!
i too will be slowing down and experencing the game, i started doing that last week during open beta. For me the journey to cap in the games i play is as important as the end game content. :)
I know i will no hurry.
YES! this Thread Title and OP are my Exact feelings.
Cannot wait to read the text and finally, truly enjoy the realm and sink deep down into the game, at my own pace.
I will definitely be taking it slow. Although partly because I can't decide whether to focus on arcanist, lancer or conjurer first . . .. Going to take my time and mess around with all 3 probably. Plus, fishing! I may explore the world as a fisherman first and foremost. And I've never been keen on organized raiding so I'm not going to be rushing to get into that.
Guess I'm going to be taking my time more than I planned. Family has decided to make big plans and drag me along tomorrow. Ah well, guess I have to put up with my in-laws.
im gonna rush to finish my crafts & acn to 50 no point having low levels.
Fully planning on taking my time as well. I might plow my first job to 50 (I have a few friends with Legacy characters, and I'd like to start adventuring with them as soon as possible), but I'm definitely going to be reading all the storyline, and slowing down immensely after that first level 50. Glad to see there are so many others of the same mindset =D
I will still enjoy it without taking my time.
Speed run to ACN 50 and smn/sch quests, then slow down on my crafting/gathering jobs.
As a legacy. I know my ls would rush everything. However I'll try my best to sit in all barrel I come across and snap some pics!!!
Unlike FFXI im going to do things in focus instead of randomly. Going to level me crafts in tandem with my Summoner.
Always enjoyed taking my time in games. Final Fantasy games always had this feeling... where you had to run around and just talk to every NPC you could possibly find, heck everything you could and just explore the world so you wouldn't miss out on anything. This will be no different.
Getting back into a GC and at least unlocking SCH are my priorities. After that, I'll take it slow.
Taking it slow as well. I'm sure the story will not disappoint :)
I'm going to very much take my time. I respect everyone's right to play the way they want, but I always chuckle just a little when after the first few days the people that rushed end-game start getting noisy on the forums that there's not enough content. I've seen this in so many games it's comical. I'm not saying being a rusher is bad in itself but it does tend to be comprised of some unsavory gamer types. Not all of course!
Meanwhile, I'll plug along at my own pace and eventually get to the end. Hopefully in this game when I reach that a few chill people from this thread will just be getting there too! I'm sure some of the rushers will have quit by then...and it will be good times and cold brews for the rest of us!
If by taking your time you mean playing 20 out of 24 hours a day then i agree with you Sir!
Im with you on that brother, time to enjoy 14 finally.
I want to unlock SMN and start myself on the way to PLD, but my first priority will be keeping WHM "topped up" - this is the first time ever in an MMO that I've got a capped character in reasonable gear and I'm enjoying the fact that there's not much I "need" to do other than look forward to the story and run dungeons :)
Probably going to put aside some time to get all the aetherytes and chocobo paths so I'm not that guy who joins a party and can't actually get there like the guy who joins a party and doesn't have any of the runic portals.
Hehe, I'm going to take my time ^ω^ and enjoy the game.
I'll slow down after I beat every dungeon and every elemental.
I'm going to take my time. I rushed through beta 4 cause limited time. Im a complete noob so I had no clue what I was doing at times. Now that I dont have to worry about betas ending I'm gonna relax and take my time to dabble in everything I can before leveling to 50
No more skipping cutscenes, dialogue, or dungeon intros (at least on the ones I haven't played yet).
I didn't skip through cut scenes or rush all that much during Phase 4, as I really wanted to enjoy my character knowing she would transfer over. And though I would like to level Arcanist up to where my Conjurer and Thaumaturge all ready are, I'm not in a terrible hurry to do so. There's crafting to be done, and stories to unfold!
Nope, I plan on getting to 50 as fast as possible in my main class. haha Cause I know its gonna take a while to get to 50 on the others! But I do love me some good story lines, so you can bet I will be reading ALL of the quests. :D
I don't know how to!!!
Help me!!
I'll be busy doing the class quests for my 50s, getting my GC back, leveling my non 50s. I'll take it as it comes, I play this game in the evenings for relaxation.
