A bit of an update. ASUS sent me an email saying they've shipped my comp back to me. No indication as to what they did or if it is even fixed. Fingers crossed .

Where in Canada approximately are you? As for staples not taking it back I used to work there as a tech for a short time, I hated it because of the way they operate but they should have taken it back, if you still have problems let me know I will see if I can do anything on that end for you with staples or even just help with the tech side as I unlike most staples techs actually know what I am doing.
Best of luck hopefully Asus fixed it though I have had decent luck with them, at least it's Asus prebuilt vs some of the other options :/ (I have a asus laptop but I build all my desktops)

And then progress will be reset and you should be in open beta, too (Phase 4). After that, it sounds like "early access" will be 3-5 days, where many won't be able to play.
