As someone who came back to the game a month ago after a year+ off, thank you to the OP. For those like me tackling this content, this is a new Garuda strategy. It is very helpful.

To everyone else who finished Garuda months ago and are trolling that, "this is not a new strategy"........QQ moar.

Most of the commenters here seem to have no idea what they're trying to do. The main point of this strategy is to burn her down without having to kill any adds, as in within 1 minute after Aerial Blast. You can't do that with anything less than 4 BLMs and you have to stop at 65% to get her HP low enough.

Only negative things are you will need decked out BLMs and you're going to eat a 3.5k Aerial Blast.

BTW about all those trolls around here, not all of us players could play at that time when you cheated in Garuda fight, there were so many that even SE had to put a patch a week or two after knowing, yay 7 weapons at once!!

Theres nothing better than killing Garuda with skill, keep posting this kind of strats

Am I right in that the 'strategy' here really is:

Nuke as much as possible but make sure you have enough MP left to finish her off within 1 minute of AB?
(Oh, and Bards keep plumes off of stones).

Not the most complex strategy I've seen, and not entirely sure this was the anticipated way of fighting her

It's a boss in WoW in the area there was 3 minor drakes and 1 big at the center , the big one is the main boss and gives loots .
You could kill the drakes one by one or don't kill them and engage the big boss , doing this will add you better and extra loots for each extra minor drake in the fight of course the boss got extra damage and life buff.
For the 3 drake fight you had to take and kill all the minor drake coming one by one then kill the big one that was the original way to do it but russian find out a burst tech , just focusing on sartharion while tanking the first drake and then the second , if you really bursted a lot it should die a little while after the second came ( after it's a wipe because the second drake create whelps that couldn't be handled while attacking the main drake )

they are trying the easiest strats and it often come with the fastest strat usually by phase skipping just like here .

It's amusing how quickly some people start crying "troll" when they get their feelings hurt/ comments hit a little too close to home. In reality, the whole "New" part of the thread title is misleading to many.

Oh and for the record, I'm sure many people participating in this thread can kill Garuda with "skill" at this point, they don't even have to rely on 1-job to "burn" it.

You know what I notice on these forums a lot in Garuda threads? Some people start bringing up the original BLM burn exploit and assume everyone who has beaten Garuda must have abused it and nobody who kills her today has put in genuine time and effort to beat her with more than BLMs. Nope. People who can kill her today couldn't have possibly not done the BLM exploit.

We had a weird fluke in each run where I (the WHM) would pull Chirada's hate even though I had shroud and the tank tried to voke them all. I ended up dying at the very end each time, but as long as I pulled it away from the BLMs we won.

I'm pretty sure your joking and/or mild trolling but just in case your not I think they are trying to show how to skip dealing with suprana/chirada which is the hardest part for most groups especially pugs.

This guy posted a video of his LS's first BLM burn and is explaining anyone who asks how to do it.
Its a fast, simple method, that can work with pick up groups.

He isn't making any claims about being the first in the world to do it, being the best, anything, and all you're giving him is apathy and contempt. If its apathy what his thread produces in you, then be apathetic and ignore it, but don't be condescending.

I'm pretty sure wars can't one shot SC plumes, so I doubt it'd make a considerable difference.

Although it might hurt stray plumes enough to light shot them more easily... its worth a shot, to say the least.

actually the only time WARs can one shot plumes is if they are tanking since they get bonus damage from their stance that requires them to take damage to build up the modifier. Though admittedly I haven't tried on a high dps geared WAR.

BLMs need at least 350+ Int mAcc at about 440-450+ without food since song will boost you close to 500 ^^

Yes there is! It's called "WTF Rau". This was months ago when Garuda first came out and we were developing a non 1st phase BLM burn/exploit. Was a video of comedy. It was our closest we came to a win for the first time.

We have I think 2 videos up of wins that demonstrate how to deal with the whole fight. Trying to burn her right away in second phase is possible but can be risky if something goes wrong. It's good to know how to be able to deal with all situations for a definite win. There is only 3 storms she will do. A bit of practice and a proper party setup and you can win almost every time as long as everyone does their part.

Although I find this Video cool and interesting, I don't think that strategy is easier than the regular way. To all who still need to defeat her: Our LS ignored Garuda for a long time but around a month ago we started to work out a strategy that fits our play style best. I think that's what every LS gotta do. ~3 days later we got our first kill, followed by alot of kills and now most people are 7/7 (or close to it).
We don't have uber geared players, nor the JP button. We only have a double meld here and there and some Darklight. A regular fight of our LS looks like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SllyKvGbvI
Phase 1 is easy prey. Just kill all plumes. Phase 2 gets skipped if you stop damage before 60% and continue at last plumage. It only can get nasty in phase 3 when Garuda or her sisters face in the wrong direction or the hate control fails. But overall we get 8 wins out of 10 tries. So can you.

I'm really surprised it wasn't a "1337 MLG PWN U GARDUA EPIC DUBSTEP" video

It's not pillar size that matters, it's plumes fading away before they're killed, think of plumes like constant Ifrit nails.

It's good to use a THM in place of one of the BLM for "Sacred Prism" > "Sanguine Right" before "Ariel Blast".

Each pillar has 4 blocks. 16 in all. You want to have at least 8 up to be safe.

The plumes don't fade. They "explode" and damage the pillars.
