Dragoon ftw. That is all.
I tried to stick to Jobs that have been used more than once in the series for the list. As for the FFT hero jobs that only one character could play, if I wanted to add all of those the list would be like over 100. Yes, I agree, Orlandu was a bad ass mofo, but his Sword Saint is really hardly a canonical FF job in my opinion. He's the only character that can use that "Job", and there are tons of unique job titles that enemies and named group members have specific to them in FFT.
Beastmaster. I just have too much fun with it. I prefer advanced classes that really take some skill to pull off correctly.
The best job :
I voted Dark Knight but I really want XIV to make a legit Necromancer job :p
The same could be applied to any class in Tatics if it's built right.
And it doesn't take long to find out what you want to use, often I would just do CT 5 and use Flare. Since turns only go up by 5 ct you always hit everyone. Wich is best to use just you calculator and have something that absorbs your favorite spell, or negates it.
Templar Knight, I would love it in a second, but paladin is a much "nicer" version of it.
Blue Mage, but right now I wouldn't want it in the game as there isn't enough variance in mob attacks to make it worth it.
Plus the world isn't big enough, yet!
When we have an expansion and clear differences between mob attacks, I hope they'll add it.
Feels like I'm collecting souls. Mwwwwaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaha
Beastmaster or puppetmaster... voted BST!
Captain Obvious picks ninja
also hi Tre! gimme an internet hug bro
DRK is 5th place. Not bad considering what jobs are beating it.
Except for Samurai... I hate Samurai. >.<
Black Mage all the way! Nuking is so awesome!
You can't seriously claim that using a team of Squire, Theif, Knight, Monk, Geomancer, Bard, Dancer, Mediator, Mime, Chemist, Oracle, Samurai, Archer, or even White Mage, gives you the same advantage of a Calculator because you "built" it right.
Only a Dancer can hit all the enemies every turn like a Calculator, but there's no way they can finish the fight in one turn.
I still stand by Calcs being cheap, and would much rather play through the game using all Oracles with no sub class just for the fun of the challenge. (I've tried Archer and that was torture on some battles.)
I have absolutely no preference when it comes to Final Fantasy jobs. I like characters, and what jobs I like depend greatly on the characters who play them. But this reminded me of this.
I voted for Knight.
Yeah, that's a cool fan cover. I've heard it before too.
On the subject of jobs, the more I think about it the more I think SE is just going to add something totally non traditional next. I came to this conclusion because I tried to imagine what I don't want SE to add next the most. What ever I don't want is what SE usually dose, so I'd say its a pretty safe bet.
You know with the right set up of armor and abilities you can make you character nearly impossible to hit. Just by having the strong Escutcheon shield and Feather Mantle, you already have 50% chance or less of being hit by a spell.
Especially a squire. If I make the bare minimum to just get my character to level 99 and you do the level down then level strategy.
Black Mage, always.
Only 17 WHM's out there?
Man ya'll be dead.
I had to vote Beastmaster..just because I like the idea behind the job. A character more comfortable with the wilderness than the busy city..too bad ffxi totally took that in the totally OPPOSITE direction lol.
Dark Knight all the way! I can't wait to see what a XIV DRK will be able to do. (..er as long as it's not tanking) =)
Blm all the way. I hope XIV BLM will someday have as much spells as in XI or at least lot more than right now.
I guess adding new skills takes a lot of balancing so they started with very little but I hope they're not "done" yet.
Bleh, Holy Knights continue to be the forgotten Final Fantasy class.
Dark Knight is now tied with Samurai for 4th place.
LETS GO DARK KNIGHT!
Up to 425 votes :D Rdm is still in second only a few points behind SMN.
wth... barely any love for THF & BST ????
#1 SMN
#2 RDM
#3 BLU (only 1 behind rdm)
#4 DRK/SAM (tied)
I'm glad to see so many people <3 RDM as much as I do.
"Gogo" (the Mime)all the way with this kick-ass class/job. If anyone can make it happen, it SE! As a Mimic, I would practice my mime skills(based off magic acc) and copy-cat a party members actions(based on whether its physical or magical). Being a Mimic, I would also replicate someone's' ability( and that would be the most fun ability EVER!!). I would be able to copy 2-hours(each one/ every 2 hours tho) XD
I WANT MIMIC!
well i really don't see the point of having a mimic .We can already have others class skills , i don't think it would be balance if mimic could use every spells , or they could only imitate a spell / skill that someone just used but it would be a gameplay too limited .
Thief for me. I put off levelling THF in XI for ages, when I did finally play it I loved it.
Thief all the way! Such a fun job and I hope it or some variant of it makes it into this game. That and I liked my green AF armor.
Summoner is my all time fav, but i also love Thief, Monk and Blue Mage.
Level 99 Onion Knight.
Win.
I share your enthusiasm about Mime. I think to make it blend well in an MMO they would have to change it up a bit though. I have a few ideas, for example:
In addition to having an instant mimic ability the mime could have a "store away" stile mimic ability, the ability to copy another players action, and choose when to use it with in an allotted time limit.
The other possibility I came up with would be a reflect style mimicry. The mime could copy players or self actions that can only be used on player/self and reflect them on another target. Like, player A casts convert, Mime reflects convert to player B, Player B receives the effect of convert. That sort of thing.
They would probably need some other stuff to give them a real purpose in the party, and It would also take a lot of balancing to prevent it from becoming over powered, but I'm sure SE could make it work.
I don't think it is a matter of if we'll get it, but when we'll get it.
Keep the faith, DRKs.
Thief for life, yo. Really hoping we'll get it fairly soon after ARR launch.
