using that logic should i just not play any character since not one of them goes pale enough to my irl skin tone, Should I loose all access to any hairstyle that isn't covering one eye in game? Should I not walk around when the sun is up in game since it gives me migrains irl and makes me feel drained? Should I only be allowed races thats the same height...

also how do you not know they dont have that skintone irl.. my ... um ya plays a orc on wow should he not be allowed to since he isnt green?

pale enough to were if i go out for about 30mins during a sunny day i turn into a lobster without being under an umberlla and lots of sunscreen which ive had happan when i went to a concert

Albinism?

They do have snow white skin tones, but you'd need to be a Raen Au Ra, Moon Keeper Miqo'te, or Duskwight Elezen to have access to those extremely pale skin tones. Since you play an Au Ra, if you wanted that, the first option in the section of the greener skin tones is actually a tone that perfectly matches the white scale color. It's my favorite for the race, in fact. I can take a photo if you want to see.

Not sure if it would work for you since you love the black and violet contras, but you might like it!

Did you even read my sentence? Please, please. try to read a sentence, before responding with things completely unrelated to what I've said. I literally highlighted "someone elses focus on skin tone". I didnt criticize anyone for anything related to that, i highlighted someones strange mental breakdown in trying to pin another grievance onto me, it's not that difficult to understand if you have a basic understanding of english.

Like I said, you can argue against my objectively extreme dislike on piercings and tattoos, but atleast do so instead of arguing against some imaginary version of me, that you created in your own head, based on me responding to someone elses attempt at pinning more ficticious dislikes onto me.

to summarize, the poster i responded to went on a non sequitur and mentioned their own IRL skintone then contrasted it with their character, who they shared pictures of. This was strange to me because it had nothing to do with my prior comments of disliking piercings and tattoos. So the person instead mentioned something I obviously have no problem with, because I play a dark skinned miqote myself. I was bothered by that person literally inventing something "they think i have a problem with" instead of focusing on the things I actually mentioned.

If they implement piercings, tattoos, and other alternative looks for customisation, then fair play to CBU3. Would be nice to have more customisation and potentially have it be lore related, or just to add some more freedom to customisation.

Either way, if (and this is a big if) they add more things and it's stuff that you like, then awesome! If you don't like it, then you don't have to use it. If they don't add more stuff, then ah well, what can you do (aside from modding it, lmao).

Personally, I'd find it cool if there were lore-related tattoos for Miqo'te aside from the optional tattoos on their face. (Plus, I'd have love to have more markings on the body, instead of them just being on the face ;w; )

My intent with my post is that there's people out there that get very judgey about how other people create or dress-up their characters and then think they can police what they can and can not have, and this Alessa person doesn't sound any different from the folks who give people flak for playing something outside their IRL gender or race. Likewise, if they're going to insist other people have to customize themselves based on what they deem "correct" then they should be aware that people may find every facet of their own character objectionable from their appearance to their outfit. I all but called their hat and glasses awful to emphasize that point, but I didn't deem them worth blocking until they insisted on being rude anyway.

The self-deprecation is because I'm not the kind of person who thinks their butt doesn't stink and that I do indeed seem to have a character that checks off every box for what some people consider a "negative Miqo'te stereotype" minus the beeknees while AFKing in Limsa or some venue (I have way better things to do and don't RP in general). My whole point is that people can do what they want with their characters and if I don't care for a certain kind of customization, and there is a lot I don't like, then I just don't use it myself, I don't go on some tear about them being "trashy" or equating their actions to bringing down some imaginary neighborhood or the value of humanity or whatever they were trying to get at because tattoos and piercings upset them. I don't even like tattoos or piercings myself, but I don't attack the people who do.

Only one Sunseeker female face is without any face stripes, everyone else that plays Miqo'te has something baked in. There is an option to add MORE on a few male faces, too. That's one of those things I hope is changed if they do update the system. some more varieties on face stipes and body stripes. And that would fall into a simple body tattoo system.

Haha, it's fine, I didn't feel called out by you and knew you were responding to them and not me.

Rather, I was indirectly responding to their confusion (and can't quote them directly anymore) because apparently they didn't understand what I was going for by specifically targeting their chosen glamour and physical features. Not one for hypocrisy though, I didn't exclude my own character's glamour being deemed in poor taste, or that I likewise use a dark-skinned catgirl that others might deem "weird" because I've certainly run into people in MMOs who get all huffy about people playing characters that don't match their gender, and if playing a race that allows human skin tones, why they don't use their own.

It warranted clarifying just in case anybody else didn't get what I was going for, but it was meant to be a case of "what if someone treated you the same way for your character choices" but instead they resorted to more name-calling and negative assumptions of others. (Persecution fetish? I'm dying over here.)

I hate to be that person but in East Asia facial piercings remain mostly stigmatized. While some countries are becoming more accepting of nose piercings (due to being more progressive), stances remain the same with stuff like tongue piercings. So likelihood of it actually becoming a customization thing added in the game is very very low (bordering on 0%). I am personally from East Asia so I know about this cultural stigma against facial piercings but this information is also very easily found online.

I probably wouldn't use a lot of piercings, they're just not my thing. But I see no real reason to object to them being added to the game. Your body is your temple, decorate your altar however you like.

If someone else's character offends your delicate sensibilities, consider not playing multiplayer games.

I think the biggest argument towards the addition of tattoos as a customization option is that it would even be a benefit to people who don't like tattoos, so we wouldn't get more gear pieces(see: Skyworker's Singlet) ruined by the addition of tattoos baked in, especially bad if you are of reptilian persuasion like yours truly, baked in tattoos just don't agree with scales, and always looks awful, even if I liked tattoos.

Now, I don't think it is likely for such option to be added at all, just that if it were, I wouldn't have anything against it, if anything it wouldn't even register with me.

I would rather not have the game steer into more of an IMVU direction.

They could just make multiple slots like the one we have for glasses and allow a lot more then just glasses in those slots. Like Tattoos, Piercing, Fingernails, Beards. I wouldn't even mind some eyebrows for highlander.

Maybe like 3-4 slots that can fit whatever you want in them.

I just want freckles removed from the makeup options so I can use them. Heck, give us a freckle slider.

Chances are, it would be like hair or bun ears (if you choose to), and the just get covered.

Guys I'm tired.

We have people running around in maid outfits (I personally find that style particularly repulsive, but again, personal issue) and bikinis. We have people running around in mascot costumes, and things like the fall guys collab gear.

I don't understand the 'IMVU' argument and frankly I find it irritating that this community would clutch pearls over one kind of style when we have stuff that's sexualizing all throughout the game. To me, tattoos and piercings are a style choice, not something that screams 'I want to go to an adult venue'. If that's the message other people get from the style, well that's the message I get from the whole maid outfit thing and some other choices, yet I'd never argue they shouldn't exist just because I personally dislike seeing it.

While I really, really wish this thread was presented a lot better, it does really feel tiresome that once again this community is showing its true colors and being selfish while touting it's 'welcoming and accepting'. You can't claim to be both.

Chances of them doing that are very very low. Though I do trust that, like all gear, it would fit into the wiorld, and not automatically make everyone look like modbeasts.

What I would like to see even more, however, is the option to be completely shaven bald. We already have the monk dots, give us a the bald head to complete the set.

I liked Lamull's double earrings. But of course one pair of those "earrings" are a Lala face option. That's the sort of customization I'd like to see expanded.

Yeah, Lalafell in general have several hoop earrings as part of their baked in facial feature options.

Miqo'te and Elezen also have clasps and clip options for their ears (you can change their color) and some Au Ra can have silver jewelry on their horns.

I dont see the problem with more customization, so long as it is tasteful (tattos, piercings obviously fine) just don't want to see no 20 ft giant lizard men with a superman chest, and his cat girl harem with.. well your mind can be creative. Any customization is fine, as long as done tastefully and to genre.
