I really don't care about that.
Seems to me crafting just makes me lose money xD Yeah I'd appreciate more gil drops from mobs...
I admit, I'm not rich, even though I have all craft capped
I never have more than 5 millions in one account
Does that make me whine?
No
Your idea of fun is no fun at all
Beside, if you too lazy to find spot in ward, you can always npc your drop
It's a matter of choice
I absolutely hate the crafting/gathering in this game. I'd rather hit my "craft these 20 things while I afk" button than play a mini game. As such, I'm probably doomed to go the farming route.
Doesn't really matter though... this entire system sucks with wards that are PER CITY instead of all 3 being linked to a single search window. We shouldn't have to fight tooth and nail just for a spot in Uldah's wards-- there probably aren't enough people willing to take the time to check all three for the people stuck in Grid/Limsa to really prosper. (Poor people might shop around, but poor people are also going to look for cheaper items. Those with Gil probably won't invest in the lagfest involved in price hunting, unless something in the Uldah wards is simply outrageous).
Then NPC it?
I can only imagine that if SE was going to introduce a gil drop from mobs you can expect it to be the same sort of reward as turning it into an NPC.
We all go back to town eventually whilst out in the field, be it to stock up on supplied, new equipment, check for shouts or meet with friends to trade stuff. Just drop it into the NPC's hands on your way past.
EDIT: I'm not trying to argue the point, rather see if there's a middle ground between what is available and what you want from it.

This is what popped in my mind...
On a serious note, It's quite ridiculous, people commented on why It is so, you replied just because it is "Final Fantasy".
I can't see you even taking this seriously, difference between FLYFF on the topic of Money and realism; Elves, cats. Really ?
I haven't seen any game where Craft and Gathering matters as much as in XIV, and I for one, think It's a "Uniqueness". XIV's and Other MMOs' approach on getting Gil is different.
Also, Offline and Online Final Fantasies have some slightly different things to consider, like say, Economics, wherein "You're not the only Player" in Online FFs.
If any random lv 1 monster dropped Armors, then that Item will become Obsolete, instead here In FFXIV you get Armors as a reward for completing Levequest, or crafting or Drops that is supported by Lore and makes sense. I.E. Darklight
Now rather than making more ways for Items to be Obsolete, why not make Items that actually matters ? In Offline games they don't have to worry about that, you most likely have infinite Inventory.
Then you talked about being Realistic and Immersion, and that FF isn't FF if the monsters doesn't drop Money, I see that FF is just "that much" for you, If the Monsters doesn't drop money, It's not FF.
For me, FF is the Engaging storyline, the gameplay, the characters, the lore and world, but who am I to say ? I'm just an RPG fan, an FF fan, a "story" fan, I'm not any Creator. The Creators are who define FF, but each individuals have their own definition and Majority is what decides the universal definition. All if not most of your posts are very self-centered, and always includes "I" "Me", etc.
I'm sorry for you, but this FF is taking "a bit realistic" way in economy for the Crafters and Gatherers, tell me it isn't when you dissect 100 Animals and find "Coins" in their bodies, or where Animals actually look like Animals, and Building structures actually look realistic ? Despite all the Realism, I think XIV is doing really well with balancing Realism and Fantasy, what's more, most people like it.
First, I was ok with someone not liking about some aspects of the game, I even thought SE could increase the rate of Gil drops from Humanoid enemies, but then you brought out craps and shits. I was actually gonna say some more, but I forgot what it is..
Anyways, sorry for the long post and have fun :p
I cant tell who this is addressed to.
Also, I never said that I only want the economy to focus on gil dropped from enemies.
Im just asking for enemies to drop some gil, even if they only dropped 150g at level 50 I would be happy.
Some people dont want to involve themselves on the Final Stock Market Fantasy of fluctuating money prices and RMTs constantly trying to undersell you.
I would have agreed with you If you only said that :p Sadly you added stuffs like Realistic, Immersion and Definition :o
It would make sense in a "XIV Realistic way" If SE added some kind of "Universal Loot Drop" for any Enemies, which purpose is only to NPC them. Make it another Inventory Tab for them ! I.E. [Essence] > Sell > [300 Gil] ea
If we would go the Old-styled Fantasy way where any enemy drops Gil, I don't mind that much, but Gods forbid SE to ever make Standard/Normal Gears drop from Random/Normal Enemies.
Inventory / Loot becomes clusterfk when that happens, I've experienced it >.> (If Inventory is not Infinite)
You could just use guild leves... then you do get paid for killing the mobs
Idk that I want to go on for several more pages of people arguing with one stubborn lazy person.
"As small as taxes" you say? We might not use the repair NPC as often, but there have been days where I'd drop 50k just to get my whole set repaired. I have most gear-related crafts at 50, but sometimes I don't want to reset my ability timers and sometimes I'm simply too lazy to repair every little thing. 50k is a lot to simply throw away for convenience's sake.
On a side note, dragons are notorious hoarders in mythology. Maybe drakes should drop gil!
Not to mention that it never made any sense whatsoever for random monsters to be carrying currency other than the beastmen or other humans. Honestly, money's a lot easier to come by than it ever was in XI thanks to guild leves and just how much easier in general gathering is.
I don't normally like to harp on people, but seriously, OP needs to stop QQ and find a craft/gathering combo you like and stick with it. There are other long-term benefits to crafting than just money as well.
I only ever want to see money drop from random enemies in offline games where the only person's experience it affects is your own.
Trust me, crafting is as fun as kiting 10+ raptors for farming
aww, thats too bad. now you wont hear any usefull tips from me anymore
btw, I hate to drag other on this (thanks to you), but why are you so stubborn? not just me, not just 2 or 3 people, almost all people contributing to this thread mentioned whats wrong with your suggestion. yet you pick me as your target. why not target all people here? only because I have broken engrish? If its true, then its hurt..
again, it was mention several time (if not all the time), if you hate waiting line in Ward, go NPC it. Surely worth more than 150 gils. Other option? Go sell it to you LS friend. Surely they need it for their craft. "Im sorry but I have no friend". Get a life!
