Yoshida did mention that the short yukatas are actually a Fashion Thing right now in japan! It's probably why they went with a short one, too.

Yukatas wearing exactly meant to run in and there isn't a proper animation to walk/realistically walk with the yukata+sandals that are used with it normally. SE proved to us that yes, this engine can make longer robes/skirts with as few clipping issues as possible to make it look good.

But longer yukatas would be out of place in a game where 99% of chars run around all the time, and no proper animation + programming to make them walk realistically so right now shorter yukatas are the less time consuming way to implement them (i believe).

Also, yeah etc etc,service for the guys to look at with the possible small yukata + subligaria combos. (Also reinhart will be happy to flash some arse with his mini skirt.)

Hmm, I wonder if this Coliseum gear is gonna be related to the new Coliseum in Limsa coming in 2.0. Lore-wise, it wouldn't make sense with the Gladiator Guild's Coliseum in Uldah, because those combatants are more "armored up" in comparison. But as of now, it is out of place.

Like someone said before, it'll only be weird if true high level gear wound up becoming nothing more than a swimsuit for female characters.

On a completely random side note, I love how guys unironically use this excuse to play as a "sexy" female:
"B-but, if I'm gonna be staring at a character's ass whenever I play the game, I'd rather it be a girl's."

Whether you wish to deny it or not, bottom line is, everything revolves around sex and sex appeal (or if you prefer physical looks, the one first thing that everyone pays attention to, even when they're not objectifying anyone.) As in real life, so in game.

Btw. not sure if you were aware of it, but this isn't the only lewd thing in game. . . . There's tons of "discutable" texts, as well as NPC characters, and a few cutscenes that are borderlining it.

Cat-girl characters were invented with sex in mind, they sure didn't think about nuns when tending to that part of fans. Want a non-objectified female in an anime-inspired game? I'd say the best bet would be to wait for Roeg females in 2.0, though it looks like they're quite busty themselves. . . .

At this point I'm going with the firm belief that people complain just to complain on these forums.

We need more sexy gear for males

The colisuem is primal and violent and fantastic. I cannot understand why op did not expect this. Besides, being sexy is not objectification. If it is, the op is never going to enjoy life. :D

To OP : Why are you surprised ? People whined here they need more "Sexy armor and stuff" I understand tho, and agree with you on one hand. This cant be an armor - mere lvl 1-10 "event" dress, if game is going in this direction - meh.

I hope there will be only "few" of these, otherwise it will remind all korean games xD

I've seen bikinis more revealing. Some of you need to grow up.
