More weapons again... Why they don't make gear for once? Oh right gives more work ( every piece for all races while weapons would be only 7 and are universal). At least make them good or with interesting stats. About content, is always welcome.

Think it's mostly because if one would take the time, effort and money to work on melded gear they'll have better alternative to raid sets, since the only true purpose for raid sets currently is the fact it has stats in slots materia can't cover (yet.)
Already confirmed the current Primal fights related to Umbral Era/GC will no longer exist as they do now in 2.0 They'll be open world and main use is to obtain as a summon for free-companies.
He just said at japan expo that ifrit extreme is staying because of relic prereq lol
Maybe this is the Yin to the Relic Weapons Yang. It seems to me that about 80% of the people who post on here regularly would align themselves in the "hardcore" crowd. For those of you with 7/7 ifrit, Garuda, and moogle weapons, congrats. For the other people who don't play as much and maybe only have 1 or 2 classes at level cap (such as myself), this could be a cool repeatable content way to get cool endgame weapons in a more casual friendly fashion.
Then again, it could turn out to be as much of a time sink as Relics, who knows until we get more details?
They are preparing class-specific gear (18/19 sets!), race-specific starter gear (5 sets, 10 genders), new job AF's and adjusting current armor to fit the missing genders...
Sure sucks to have this many weapons as a reward but it's not like the armor-team doesn't have their hands full preparing for 2.0 as-is.
New belts for melee would be nice.
I've done enough penance.
...just sayin.
Also, if we can get seals out of this (pretty sure we can since its GC related), I'll be all over it!
more server congestion at the first patch day release . . .
Seriously, more weapons... I would much rather have another patch with accessories and armor than another set of weapons, even if they are upgrades. I have already turned most of my moogle and Ifrit’s weapons into material due to no longer needing them.
Seems like alot of fun:) stoked!
I accepted to play FFXIV knowing the time until 2.0 is just a filler, yet I whine when they add new types of content because the rewards, for which I don't know the details yet, do not please me.
<3 Nooomy!
I hope they start adding weapons and gear with unique skills that can only be used if you wearing said pieces of equipment.
While you normally may not want to equip a weapon because the stats suck. The ability to cast a unique skill/spell with the gear is very interesting and enticing.
And yet she's being sent to open world. The whole reason they're doing instance fights after you claim them on open world is easier to manage for quests. So I'm still waiting to see where he confirmed he's no longer planning to remove the current form of fights due to storyline related reasons.
Do we really have to put a negative spin on everything they release?
If you've got an issue with how much instancing is going on, I'd say it might be time to reconsider game options. It's clearly not going to stop and they've mentioned it a bit for 2.0. If you hate instanced content this game may not be for you. There will be a mix of both in 2.0 but instancing will still be around and likely going strong.
"More weapons, inv -7". Well no one's forcing you to get the weapons. You have to decide if they're worth the space to you. Are we really complaining about more gear choice?
Sorry, just had to get that out of my system.
Skirmish does sound fun though, it's something different at the very least. Instancing will at least keep it balanced and, hopefully, difficult to a degree. Thanks Devs for finally giving people a reason to go to Limsa lol.
Who knows, I just know we're going to lose the story related portion of them. The weapons are already getting outdated so that's where some people's assumptions are coming from since we do know the main purpose of primals in 2.0 is for Free-Companies to summon them (the existing ones at least, who knows about the future ones), so that might be the only reward, no one knows.
Realistically, they should have just made them like XI's avatar battles.
It's the forums...it'll be forever complaints no matter what...it's the place people come to vent...especially since they feel they have a voice here...
And in reality if you look at SEs responses to the ventfest. They seem to appeal to the complaints in this forum. My only hope is that they are looking beyond these forums for direction and inspiration.
Feeding the venting community doesn't bode well if that is what they are using for future game direction.
What every game company needs to learn that the few complain...the majority never say a word and just leave...
I'm fine with the content itself, it sounds fun for sure, I just don't like how there's a set of new weapons to obtain in every single patch now, more or less making certain previous weapons obselete depending on the stats.
I wish they could think of something different and worthwhile as a reward. At the very least, I'm hoping these weapons will have something different about them that seperates them from primal and GC weapons.
Back to the new weapons...they got a coral texture color to them very cool.
I hope they make them more iridescent and shimmer. My lil complaint with the GC 25K seal weapons was they were a little dull. They looked cool and stainglasslike but miss that lil spark that would be cool if they adding a little shimmer to them.
Hate me and I know it sucks graphics...I like glowing weapons!!!!
there are waaay to many weapons, they are also getting worse in design
Why the F*** are people complaining that we are getting more weapons?????
These weapons look like they were forged from Golems in FFXI. Either way can't wait to try out this content. Variety is the spice of life.
Looks pretty fun. Weapons are also lookin' pretty bad ass.
I remember seeing a map for Turtleback Island ages ago, glad to see it finally has some use.
Might as well use all leftover fields prior to 2.0.
That polearm will go well with the DRG AF.
Looks awesome to me, can't wait to try it.
Not saying I'm complaining about it, but I can understand their frustration.
We've been farming weapons since 1.18 about a year ago. Darkhold, Ifrit, Moogle, Materia, Relics, Leuitenant tier, and now Skirmish.
The big question is, if these weapons aren't the best thing out there, why take time away from trying to get a Relic? Sure it stands to reason you want the best-in-slot for your chosen class, but you don't even have to play that class until you have an Unfinished Relic.
Weapons are cool, but there are a lot of slots that won't require them to design a seperate graphic for each sex of each race. They could give belts, rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings or even unique materia.
But I do think people are jumping the gun. There's likely more to this than a few weapons.
Hmm...that sword reminds me of the Master Sword for some reason. Might be the color scheme. Or design of the hilt.
They likely won't go anywhere, and we are probably correct in assuming that after we claim them in open world, the instanced fight will be identical to the current ones. However, I think the weapons will just become extremely hard to get that way because you will get 1 fight per server per week maybe? It's not like currently where anyone that throws 8 people together can go fight them an infinite amount of times.
Or they can go the route of leaving them in the game how they currently are, as in leaving the quests for the fights in game etc and ALSO having a roaming version with a different instanced fight that ONLY rewards the ability to summon the primal. To avoid loopholes in the lore, they could make the current battles only available during times when they are NOT currently roaming? Just a thought.
While all your opponents will be powerful creatures of notorious monster strength, the rewards will be equal to the risks—claiming victory may well earn you weapons of uncommon quality.
I kind of rolled my eyes at seeing new weapons (again !!)
This dev team are obsessed with weapons, its about time we got more variety in loot from content (Hamlet and AV have some good armour granted)
But I would like to see some more armour choices, ENOUGH WITH THE WEAPONS SE!!!
As much as I want to ignore your posts .. I can't seem to help myself.
I'm sure Yoshi confirmed a while ago that there will be 2 version of the primals the current version will remain for weapons and then the open world will exist fro the summoning card.
And no before you ask I will not go find proof of when or where he said this.
