Ifrit Extreme....What's Different?

Before we all jump to conclusions and stuff like that i noticed that the pulse was on the mnk (possibly taking all the hate) which means no more BLM Style strategies since they will cramp in one spot and if someone got hate he will be beaten to death. meaning this fight now will take us to 1.19 Strategy DD~
which means SE are telling all the Narrowed vision (sorry about that) players with the term (1 strategy onry no more) to a new level to broaden their mind.

You want us not to jump to conclusions then jump to a conclusion that people will need to use a 1.19 strat.

It is possible that breaking the horns could be a greater influence then in the other Ifirt battles. Like what if this Ifrit can regen 3 times quicker than the hard mode version.

Looks like you have to enter as the job your progressing your relic weapon for.

Wow, crazy shit goin on in there.

Interesting looking fight, looks like 2 new aspects of the fight
1) The "Powder Bomb", MNK stole hate and seamed to run to the others, bad idea imo, maybe if they ran away from everyone it would have only effected the one player. I'm thinking this actually discourages melee as the tank would be getting "bombed" and anyone in it's range would also.
2) Hellfire looked to have 4 fire pillars surrounding Ifrit, I normally stand at the edge during HF but this might hit you for more if you're near the middle.
Guess we're gonna have to see a winning vid to get a better understanding of the fight.

After seeing this fight I can see a lot of people who did all the stuff before this probably screaming their heads off in a huge rant fest when they finally go to face Ifrit. Personally this just makes me want to avoid the relic weapons all the more now.

Multi-eruptions during Phase 1 and Hellfire at 90% makes me smile.

Also, this means it's likely he hellfires multiple times during this fight.

It seems like the jump actually resets hate as the monk was in green when Ifrit jumped. It must have been the Second Wind he used immediately upon landing that drew aggro.

The "pillars" during HF are just the graphical effect from people getting hit by it.

idk it seems way to much hardcore and i believe its just a time sink till they raise the cap cause it just seems waaaaaaaaay harder than ever

I can't see this being realistically possible to win until 2.0 when the animation lock problems are dealt with. Bar the occasional fluke, of course.

A few things to note

That "smoke bomb" ability seems to only affect the player that has hate after Ifrit landing, and only for a short duration.

Jump definitely reset hate, the MNK was green prior to jump, he also landed in the center, not back on the tank as usual.

Hellfire seems to do more damage the closer you are (judging from the position of the dead bodies right after it).
How do I think this? By comparing buffs/position/hp/native job defense between Cat Food and Aisya before HF, and the hp of Aisya after HF. I will not lie; I cannot tell you what foods they ate, however, based on the above information I strongly believe distance matters. All speculation, though.

Jump "safe spots" didn't appear to change, but even if they did its not too had to avoid.

Suggestions

Tank: Have a JA ready to grab Ifrit out of the jump and no actions by any other party members until then.

White Mage: Pray.

Ifrit always had 4 pillars and you cannot tell from 1 video that hellfire does more dmg the closer you are to ifrit. In fact I doubt that is a mechanic they would implement in a BC. Some people merely died because they weren't healed up properly nor had buffs to mitigate damage. Don't jump to wild conclusions please.

Just to chime in, the new "powder bomb"/"smoke bomb" attack people are referring to is called 熱風 (neppuu) in Japanese. Directly translated, it means "hot wind", though I seriously doubt that that's the English version name, as (like many direct translations from Japanese to English) it sounds pretty bad. I wouldn't be surprised if they called it something like "searing wind", however. We'll just have to see. :)

Oh, but it won't be me in there finding out, however. Somebody else can do that.

It just looks like a Sear focused on a target.

yeah, it's definitely a circular AoE centered around a target, not a single target attack. You see other players nearby getting hit by it as the mnk runs around.

If this is true, then a couple people will pretty much be 'forced' to go for the WHM relic. Hope that isn't the case.

Enter as the job you're getting relic for then swap to another job inside before engaging.

he does triple cracks from the start his aoe that is usually on him after he hits 50% is now a dot he places on a party member that hits all member in that area hes goin to hell fire at 25% and 75% he hits harder and it looks like he resets hate after every jump :-) EXTREMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

The quest "A Relic Reborn" will be in version 2.0, therefor Ifrit (Extreme) will be in 2.0, at the very least. I doubt the actual quest line is going to change, including the Ifrit fight part of it.

The visual background will change. Other than that I think the cutscene as well, since you know what happen every time it is summoned/defeated storywise.

An assumption with very little foundation. The suspicion that the instanced primal fights will be removed when roaming primal fights are introduced is contradicted by:
- Relic quest using it and this quest's persistance into 2.0
- The Linkshell chat in V2.0 screenshots saying to "meet at the Howling Eye."
- The sheer stupidity of removing easy access to confronting iconic primals in an FF-fan service game (roaming primals will be camped).

The fight will exisy just undet diff storyline and mechanic probably

that video is intense and Ifrit Extreme looks crazy XD
looks like a lot of fun since Ifrit has been a little kitten since the last patches :P.
But yes it did look like a scary fight one that i dunno if ill have the courage just yet to do lol o.o

Or the very fact that Yoshi himself said they will exist in other means (open world/roaming) so we can already say that unless they treat Ifrit Extreme in the light of Abyssea Avatars of 'Tuning Fork of (Element)' style situations, it will be open/roaming as well.

Man, this video really made me realise the advantadge Japanese players have. Look at around 3:31. Notice how much time the player has to get away from the cracks. =/
