I got the Archfiend set in ONE DAY. To me, it is really a skill issue for these people. Even if that skill issue involves dedicating time and commitment.

Ya'll can have the emotes, minion and mounts though.
Just not the armor sets.
Because this, don't wanna see everyone with old pvp gearsets walking around, it'll become no longer special. Literally, the same thing happened in WoW: Legion when they gave every Paladin Ashbringer.

it's not limited to CC.
Just do daily FLs for the bonus
I just dislike the FOMO mentality that goes along with the battle pass system. I thought they were going to add an NPC in the Wolves' Den that would trade Trophy Crystals for previous battle pass rewards, but they still haven't implemented anything like that.
Meanwhile i enjoy pvp so much that i made so much exp after rank 30 that i could've gotten 10 times to rank 30. And that every season.
Maybe you just need to get better at pvp. Or well, don't do it and get no reward, lol. It's not like you need to do it, ways of playing the game you don't enjoy can have their rewards too.
Just for example, i will never do Ultimates. Not my thing. At all. I really find the weapons neat but you don't see me screaming for SE to put them into the treasure trove or something.
If you like the glam, go and work for it and stop crying.
Like most people with the rewards didn't cheat or use third party tools to get them anyway. Even if it's special I pay no attention to those folks. I just say okay cool and move on. I don't really care if they have that mount or not. It doesn't magically make me think they are an important person or something.
The entire reward system is flawed to me because none of it encourages you or your team to do well, and that just adds to the frustration if you are trying your best but overall there is no payoff unless you win.
Only thing I gotta say about PvP is enjoy the process of losing a bunch ton.
You can only do so much for your team, and all else is out of your control.
Learn to let that go, and its more enjoyable.
That does not mean do nothing for your team. Do your best obviously.
But seriously.. it has made PvP so much more lax for me because its normal to lose a lot.
You still make progress regardless if you win or lose so it honestly does not matter.
Everyone is dealing with the same scenario too, so its not just you.
It'll be more fun and easy to get to rank 25 with that mindset.
They can't lie about something they didn't say. It isn't their fault many seem to conflate "previous Series rewards" and "previous season rewards". Granted They should totally bring Archfiend set onward into rotation with future series passes with Series 4 onward.
Hellhound weapons were also never gone, but they surely were kinda tedious to obtain.
But I've never seen them once confirm they will bring back exclusive Top 100 Season rewards, in fact I've seen him deny it a lot.
I am starting to feel like Emet reading these post...I'm just going to shake my head and continue peeking.
You already have mounts from extremes and other misc things that's hardly touched being funneled every now and then through the Moogle event. I would not be surprised if the pvp glams just happens to fall into that same category in the future.
As far as the Garo armor goes back then they had alternate gear for them that was being sold in the gold saucer. Maybe that should be done for the [future] glams that's in the battle passes if folks hate pvp so much.
This feels like a terrible comparison. The Ashbringer had a pretty huge amount of lore behind it, and was involved in several notable feats in the game, like freeing the Death Knights of Acherus from the Lich King's control and shattering Frostmourne. It was also teased multiple times, especially through the Corrupted Ashbringer in Vanilla Naxxramas (there was even a placeholder item buried in the game code for it, but it was never used and had no stats or function if someone cheated it in). The PVP armor is.....a random set of armor, with no story or buildup behind it.
How dare you use logic against my comparison.
My point is, it's a sick armor set, it is devalued when everybody and their mother has it. Which makes it less special.
I like having people walk up to me and compliment me on it, or is like, how I got it. Also it goes with my POTD weapons and I loooove POTD. Once it becomes readily accessible. It's like "oh well", it stops being unique. My post is something unique will become oversaturated and lose it's "cool" factor. Now, this isn't true for the ultimate weapons, they will always remain cool. For lore reasons. (well, the importance of Ultima in FF) games, but with a special armor set, it's like, big whoop. We all have this. The Ash Bringer was a stretch. But it's the only example I could find where something became accessible and everybody started using it. A better comparison could probably be uh, mind helping me here?
As a previous WoW player, it's the only example I could find. Maybe you're running with a bad comparison I made to discredit my opinion. Despite how valid your argument is, my point is clear.
I think they said at least the newer PvP rewards will eventually be brought back. Not sure about old Feast rewards, though.
Honestly, if they bring back the set, I'll live. Being that it's perfect as POTD glam, so I will still continue to wear it. It just sucks I was late to FFXIV to get the rated pvp glam and this is the closest to exclusive I can get. Also I ran out of spoons for this topic, so that's that too.
I made all my points, and my feelings about it are still valid. So I have no reason to argue anymore.
Zero interest in PVP personally. Just chiming in to add my two cents: the existence of rewards/content that other people get that I don't due to lack of interest/participation doesn't upset me. Applies to savage stuff, pvp stuff, hunt stuff, mentor stuff, etc.
Will I be mildly annoyed that I don't have the shiny cool thing that person X has? Sure, but X put in the time and effort to do something I didn't want to to get that thing. My annoyance is only really at myself for not investing the requisite work to get the thing.
If there were like, gameplay things locked behind grinded content (something like a raid series that is locked behind completing 100 pvp matches - no this wouldn't happen, but this is the kinda thing I'm talking about), I might care more? But it's all just visual stuff.
There is no promise to you, the player, that you will get every unique item available to glam your stuff. As much as some people believe otherwise, the game is NOT, in fact, a mindless fashion simulator. Note I specify mindless, in that I mean you can't just get whatever particular item(s) you "need" to complete a "look", though of course I know glam is the true endgame... But that endgame requires grinding whatever content (or buying off the MB from someone else who did so) contains the thing you want.
My biggest issue is anything involving FOMO
I dont mind things being exclusive to a mode now, but them disappearing entirely after really bugs the hell out of me
Ults take a lot of time and effort but the rewards will never disappear as the ult wont
Just want alt ways of getting it, with an obscene large amount of crystals or collars , after the fact
To all the people that complain about FOMO:
what made you start playing FF14 considering all the 1.0 stuff you cant get anymore?
Yeah they should either cut series experience requirements or move the cool thing down to 20 instead of 25.
I like pvp in ff14. It is the only mmo pvp I have enjoyed. But I have been doing near daily frontlines since the stupid expansion launched and I am tired of it. It shouldn't take me 3 and a half months of near daily pvp (near daily because Secure blows fuck that map). 2ish months would be fine.
"Go and grind CC instead!" FEH. CC is cool but it isn't as fun as frontlines to me, nor is it as time played efficient. May start doing a few rounds a day instead of frontlines just for varieties sake but... that isn't really better! Still more of a grind than it should be for something that's purely cosmetic!
Well I grinded the last 15 series levels I needed for the coffer yesterday, just so I can nag a bit lmao. And yes, the best advice that was posted few pages back about learning to enjoy/not care about losing is the most effective advice if you are looking to grind the thing in a short amount of time.
I think they should ultimately let you buy the coffer, or individual pieces of the glam, with trophy crystals. This would mean that if you just happen to accumulate enough trophy crystals during several series but never manage to hit 25 for whatever reason, you can still obtain the glam. You get 19k trophy crystals in the series rewards before level 25, so I think 20k trophy crystals for the glam coffer would be just fine (so max amount of trophy cystals you can hold at one time), and still a considerable grind that would force you to partake in PvP nonetheless. Alternatively they could sell each individual piece for 5k or so trophy crystals, so if you are only interested in one or two pieces, you don't have to do the whole grind just for a few pieces, but instead go for 5-6 levels instead.
Considering there are also several other options to spend your trophy crystals for, I don't think this would be a completely bad alternative.
dont like your question , "if you complain about fomo why are you even playing??" because there isnt fomo for 90% of the game doesnt mean i cant complain about the stuff that is
still sucks, a lot of changes are for the better, the chocobo and unique goobue gone sucks but theres actual alternatives for those
Not specifically to respond to you but this does raise an interesting question, how much Series EXP DOES Frontlines give?
Like honestly I do believe you, but if things actually take you so long with the Daily, they should probably work in like +1000 Series EXP into Daily Challenge and adequate EXP for the average match length of FL.
That is... staggeringly low, almost insulting. In Crystalline Conflict, on average the match lasts 5min discounting overtime, prep time and queue time, giving you 900 S-EXP for winning and 700 S-EXP for losing.
If I read the descriptions on Frontlines right, they can last up to 20min without overtime. For even the 1st Place to be worth the input regarding Series EXP, it would need to net like 3600-4000 S-EXP for 1st place, going down to like 3200-3500 for 2nd Place and about 3000 for 3rd Place, assuming a match went for 18-20min.
1500 for first place is paltry.
Ill await your results, but honestly this is just brutal. It should not need to take an avid Frontline player this much longer than a Crystalline Conflict player to reach Rank 25, the input:output ratio is completely messed up.
Thats not alot. A CC win gives 900. And takes like 2-5minutes compared to a 15minute frontline. And if you get third in those 15 minutes you wasted ALOOOT of exp
assuming you lose a game in 3 minutes in CC. Each lose = 700 series exp. You could fit 5 loses into a single frontline lose for 3500 series exp
