More people seem to like your idea than not. I personally think it's a great thing.
Ahh that explains a lot, and does match up. TY for the heads up Tiru :)

Let's get a handholding icon!
Can it also come with a setting to never be matched with aforementioned "role sprouts". I really can't be bothered with someone wetting their pants because they had to press a mitigation button.
Training dummies dont teach tanks to mitigate or how to pull.
They are also pretty useless for black mages, where learning how to be casting through mechanics, and how to avoid mechanics while casting, is the bane of BLM.
This kinda stuff is also true for any jobs.
Also, before training dummies are useful at all, you need to know your rotations. Most people who know their rotations learn them outside of the game.
The reason a lot of players go into roulettes blind is because the game does not teach them.
Sounds good, I'd be okay with a "Role Sprout" icon. I bet there are a ton of players who played nothing but one job the entire time they blazed through MSQ all the way to Endwalker and still don't understand half the game. And that's not even including people who bought story/job skips.
Actually, I wouldn't mind having a Role Spout icon that kicked back in if I haven't played a given role in a while. I try and make myself tank sometimes, but I've only ever done normal 4-player dungeons, and it's been a bit since I did even that. I've kinda been avoiding going back to tanking, to be honest. I probably deserve a little broken shield icon before my name the next time I pop into somebody's roulette on my paladin, if only as a warning to my party members to "prepare for a bad time" lol.
There should be an icon that lets my party know that I constantly fail mechanics. That way the healers can have Rescue ready to go when I'm about to get pancaked.
I do like the idea. But since SE never reads these forums anyway, you can circumvent the lack of this thing by just letting the party know that you're new to your job at the beginning of a dungeon.
I think we should just be nice and understanding to everyone regardless of whether they are a sprout or not. That way we don't need to identify people to be nice to with an icon.
how about force player that just unlock the role for the first time (like tank or healer) to do hall of the novice?
