I get it, getting judged for your dps is embarrassing and frustrating but you don't learn if someone doesn't tell you. When I got told my dps wasn't up to par when I first started, I started working on my rotation.

Consecutive criticism =/= harassment

If someone is being nice about your low damage, or dying to mechanics, then you should take that in stride.

If someone is being mean and outright bullying you, then leave and report player. That's it.

This witch hunt against mods in FFXIV will lead into them putting in anti-chest software that will piss off everyone. Tbh most anti-cheat is invasive and that's the point Yoshi-P is making with not wanting to continue with the whole parser/mods. He intentionally left that matter in the gray area so satisfying both parties.

In-game parser is not happening. But wanting them to prevent 3rd party parsers and non-cheating mods will only drive people away from the game.

Graphic mods do not hurt anyone as only the person that has the mods can see it. And Gshade is there to improve the game's horrible lighting system. P3 is disgusting with its orange color overload and some of the areas have really really poor lighting. Again, it doesn't effect anyone else.

No, people should not cheat in the new Ultimate, but mods have shown to the devs that they need work on making the UI better (and they admitted this). Not only is it ugly to look at, the information it shows sucks.

Why isn't BRD's dots on their gauge?

Why is the party list information so limited?

Instead of go on a witch hunt for everyone who uses mods (there's a lot of people), how about we encourage the devs to improve the game instead of fulfilling a crusade against people who only want to raid properly.

And let's not forget that most of these people who have a lot to say about mods choose to forget bots running rampant in the open world and in Eureka?

To be fair, even that wouldn't do, as their logs not showing up would be equally a "mark of shame". It'd have to read instead as something like "This player has not yet claimed their logs or has not yet allowed you to follow them."

I realize that sounds like setting the website as a whole to "opt out" by default, and from a player search perspective it is; the difference is merely that the anonymized logs are still available to fflogs' body of data for larger-sample class-comparison metrics and the like.

If you are in a static group, then yes the raid Lead(s) should tell you so that you can try and fix the issues you may have. Not being mean at all. but a serious raid group does not want weak links or people looking to be carried. Again not being mean. Just a little tip from someone who raided for 17 years in WoW. I highly doubt the rules are much different here in FFXIV...well for savages and ultimates that is.

I've benefited so much from this on WoW, tbh, especially when returning to a particular spec after a long break. Granted, I already have my own parser there, so it's not that I don't know I'm underperforming, but sometimes guides are no substitute for experience and more tailored advice can be really helpful. It isn't something I'd feel comfortable asking my party members for, typically, unless it's a particular casual run and banter/sidechat is already going, but if they were willing, I would always graciously accept.

When I was first taking Sub Rogue into Challenge Mode Dungeons back in WoD, for instance, and hadn't played it in mechanically demanding content since WotLK, I'd have people call me out for, say, overly swapping back and forth to provide backup on certain mechanics instead of just trusting the others to do it, or in trying too hard to Rupture spread in multi-boss fights, not sufficiently banking Shadowdance for when we could most exploit its damage, etc. Luckily, some of those times, my party members had also played Sub or at least could see what was happening by the second wipe or so, and were willing to give those pointers rather than shying away from informing me as to how and when I was messing up.

It was some serious culture shock going from a place where advice, even if unsolicited, is typically taken and at most politely declined to one where it's often considered innately harassment.

Casuals are toxic because they are enabled. If people are doing previous expansion dps, get called out for it, and STILL have a GM shield them, of course they're not going to care and will openly display how much they want to annoy people because they cannot be punished. MSQ doesn't punish them, normal raid doesn't punish them, 24 mans don't punish them so they can do whatever they want and nothing will ever affect them until the game forces them to care, which will never, ever, ever happen.

They're toxic because they've been enabled for NINE YEARS. Still counting on that timeline by the way.

But that wasn't me. It'd be hypocritical beyond belief for me to be all about the rules then turn around and break a different rule for harassing you. There is not a dang thing I could gain by contacting you in game. Not to mention, harassment is reportable. I wouldn't do something full well knowing I could get jailed over that. My best guess is it's some other forum rat that read the discussion and took it upon themselves to inflame the situation more. I am sorry that happened to you. Most of these Witch-Hunters like to do that. Just stir up drama and then take off. never to be heard again. Then the ones who do stick around are the ones just causing more drama and headaches for others.

What more is there to say? I've been called a Karen, a crazy Granny and mentally ill. I am not sure what more I can add to the conversation when everything will be responded to with pure vitriol. However, it does prove my point. Most of you are so valiantly defending breaking TOS because you most like are yourself and feel the need to justify it.

I thought this was a game that was supposed to be fun and you're treating it like a professional job. Players should be punished in MSQ and normal raid content -- why? To appease you?

I mean can you blame people? How you come from time to time you sound full of yourself. Do you know on how many times that people will call you out and you will get upset delete your post saying you are being "bullied" by forum users. heck i remember somebody actually wanted to help you out and you just hid.

keep in mind the following they are making some add on official, that took them a very long time to do. Mods/add on helps alot.


I was on playstation until shadow bringers. trying to communicate to pc people on discord at the time for me was pain. Now since sony bought discord you can link accounts to each other. Assuming that how it works

And two why does it bother anyone. Its on the client side. its not hurting anyone. there are more problems in the game then just some UI mods, some lewd mods. What about speed hacks? what about wall hacks? but you know nobody wants to talk about that right?

To be honest, there are so many shit-stirrers just popcorn munching to these threads that a great many people could have taken that opportunity to make a character and add a bit fecal matter to the community pot; it seems pretty reasonable that Nav wouldn't, as she said, ignore a rule that actually protects people from harm just to call someone out by way of a rule that doesn't (and, at this appoint, appears to mildly encourage it).

Okay, at this point I have to believe you're just baiting. I could see someone being irritable in a given moment, if something had already been happening irl to flag their attention in a that direction, to mistake "clues me in to your mentality" (which referred to your seeming, in prior comments, entitled and intolerable of even the most constructive criticism -- nothing at all to do with being mentally ill) as a comment about your mental health. But that misconception was already corrected/clarified... how many times now?

I can't help but violate the TOS, I have to rely on Microsoft Windows as an operating system in order to run the game, therefore I'm reliant on 3rd Party Tools to play.

I will state again. My DPS is no one's business. How I play is no one's business. If you choose to not play with a person because their logs aren't available, that is your choice, but in NO WAY shape or form am I required to be an open book of performance for you all. Many like to equate this with me just being deadweight. That isn't the truth either. I watch my videos, I learn rotations and mechanics and I know my DNC rotation. I do learning parties, and I am willing to learn. But I am not going to be gatekeeped from trying something because someone wants a parser they can utilize to set their own high standards and ruin a player's experience. This is a GAME. It is not a profession. I get so many of you this is your life and I am truly sorry this is all you have that you must treat it like it's a second job. However, for me it is a game. It isn't serious.
