It's strange, I work a 9-5 job and still manage to log in the morning and do stuff. I also deal with customer support as a web dev and frankly, you sound to me like the kind of person that doesn't make life easy on themselves. If you can't figure out how to make some time early in the morning then... frankly... I don't know how you manage with life. Sometime I need to go to the dentist, to the hair salon or to the bank early in the morning. Maybe get an alarm clock or something?

You know, insulting people just makes you less sympathizable, and they do have a point. You seem rather focused on $10 for someone who makes so much money rather than the principal itself. Also, for someone who is so well versed in the affairs of the world compared to the NEET's whom you see as so beneath yourself, you don't seem to be well aware of the global chip shortage that is one of the main contributor to the massive amounts of congestion as it is preventing SE from making timely server upgrades. Because if you were aware, you would know that it is clear to everyone that you are incredible focused on the measly $10 and not the principal of the matter. Not to mention plenty of other people have made the suggestion to just log in earlier in the day before you head to work, using your fantasia doesn't take long at all.

So x to doubt that you make the amount of money that you say you do.

No one is disputing that it sucks you cant use it 24/7, but people are giving you solutions and you are basically telling them no.

Your best bet is to make an alt with the features that you want, then save it maybe play around on this character on a random low pop server if you can. then when youre ready to change just flip to the saved presets

OP doesn't want a solution, OP wants to flex their alleged job and how it makes it impossible to log on for 5 minutes before showering in the morning to fantasia, because OP has mistaken accumulation of wealth for evidence of personal character.

Here is a hint how to do this without issue.

Get the Benchmark. Use the Benchmark Character Creator to make your updated character. Save it. Log in to FFXIV use the Benchmark Save file.

Are the queues even large enough anymore to justify this blanket measure on all worlds? When did they even enact this?

Well, prime time queues on Aether are 2,000 to 3,000-ish on weekdays, and upper 3,000s on weekends. Pre-prime time it’s not so bad, but the former windows are definitely still rough. I waited for a friend to log in for 2 hours this evening so we could go through EW’s MSQ on our alts. They dc’d about 5 minutes after being logged in and have been in the queue for over an hour and a half now. On a Sunday night. The times were roughly 8pm EST and then 10pm EST; so 5pm PST and 7pm PST.

Well, this measure is still kind of annoying. I suppose I am just impatient, I'll just have to wait until 2 am I guess. I was hoping 11pm EST would be late enough that I might slip by, but I guess not, considering the west coast.

Or just wake up early. Before 9am EST the queue is 2 digits, and it has been like that every day and that is on Gilgamesh, one of the most crowded server.

That isn't really how I operate, but yeah, it wasn't life or death or anything. Character data seemed to be unavailable from about 5:30ishpm EST - 12am EST here.

My experience shows that the best queue times are pre-noon EST on weekends (so it would be around 9am PST). Weekdays are a bit better before 3pm my time (CST)—so around 1pm PST; since that’s when the east coast peeps start getting home from school/work. Granted, most schools are out now, so it’s mostly those that work jobs with a fixed day schedule that are logging in around then. When I tried to log in around 4pm Saturday (2pm PST), I was in a 3,000+ queue for Cactuar.

There’s also a nice drop off after about 12am EST most days—Fridays and Saturdays less so; but I actually dc’d during the level 89 dungeon last night around 11pm CST (9pm PST), and managed to only have a queue of roughly 300. But my friend had disconnected about two hours prior to that and was in a 2,000 queue.

I've been able to let myself AFK, and just log in via a queue going into the afternoon, with only a few hundred in front of me in queue here. It's been quite a bit better. I know someone in one of my Daivadipa parties DC'ed in early primetime and it took them like an hour to get back in. I don't know how large the queue gets here, but not that large anymore. Aether got hit hard by the WoW exodus.

Queues before 3pm on my server (Phoenix EU) are pretty negligible.

I like most people also work a 9-5 job but have off days. I purchased a Fantasia and was able to use it without issue. The OP is aggravated over an issue and emotions are providing an out instead of using logical sense to work through it.

I could use a fantasia, and I have a 9 to 5 job, quite literally. Just because you are in an unfortunate circumstance doesn't mean everyone is. So, either work around it, or scream into the void as you are doing.

Well with your attitude you won't get anything figured out. They're doing what they can if you can't try to work around it for the time being that is a you problem and not them. You should contact CS and ask for a refund they won't do anything for you on these forums. Just seems like you want more drama than trying to actually figure it out yourself. You work a 9-5 which means you could wake up 2 hours earlier ONE day to get your character changed around but you refuse and expect them to work on your time....

When the servers are stressed, it can't read your original character's data to know what you were looking like before the use of Fantasia. Seems understandable to me.

As many others stated, sometimes you just gotta find time to do this. Happened to my husband and myself. We just got our character set up to do the Fantasia, having what we wanted saved, so when we got in we could set it up. Easy peasy.

Anyway given their behavior in the thread I'm more inclined to think they're not an adult and their parents must only let them play video games for like 1-2 hours after dinner each day which means only during high traffic time.
