Wonder how close it'll be in 1.22
From that close it doesn't really look very 'physical'. Looks very much like a big ball of aether or something rather than something with like 'physical properties' if that makes any sense.
EDIT;
Kinda reminds me of those pictures you see of viruses.

Sorry to put two images in one post but couldn't resist;

I don't think Dalamud gives a $%(^ on what we think it is, it's coming anyway!
I think up close it looks even more 'physical' than normally, because you can actually see the mechanical parts of it like those metal-like craters or the spikey satellite tombstone-like things.
I put both pictures beside each other so you can see the similarities better :)

So I haven't seen many people discuss the Seventh Verse of the Divine Chronicles that Yoshida put up when he took charge. Urianger recites the first part in game as well:
The first line appears to concern the change from Astral era to Umbral era, like from day to night.Quote:
Ne'er till land consumes sun can sea bear moons,
Heavens spew crimson flame, hells seep black dooms.
Stray seeds quicken in ash's grey embrace,
Valiant blades forged under the Twelve's good grace.
We've seen the heavens spew flame in the first cutscene for each city, as well as in the intro video. I'm not sure what "hells seep black dooms" refers to though.
The third line seems to be talking about what happens afterward. Stray seeds quicken (us) in ash's grey embrace (post-impact).
The last line may just be looking toward the future. Adventurers (valiant blades) growing stronger after being saved by the Twelve.
However that's all just my first interpretation of it. I'd like to hear the input of others of course.
Hell's seep black dooms may refer to what Legatus Nael van Darnus was saying to Gauis:
"Yes, but how much brighter the light that shined from the void! Think of it, Gaius! Within that nothingness(Meaning Eorzea after it has been destroyed by Dalamud) lies the root of all creation - pure potential, limitless possibility! This is the wisdom of the Ancients"
Meaning something is sleeping... or something is waiting to be reborn/awakened...
And that wound from the meteor will cause intense energy right at that spot
The stray seeds thing might be referencing what happens with those forest fires. There's basically a plant/tree that benefits from them or something, I forget the name. But yeah basically ash's grey embrace, the burned remains of 1.** left after the impact causes seeds to quicken which I read as new life, i.e. stuff growing from seeds. That could mean us though.
You know, someone mentioned, jokingly, in another thread that it could be Odin.
Now that I think about it, that doesn't seem too impossible. The Allagan Empire could have sealed the "Elder Primal" Odin into Dalamud then tossed his ass into Orbit...

Dalamud and the Imperial Stronghold.

So they're Tech Priests?
It seems like it's core is purple?
And here I am thinking the game's too casual as it is.

We better be able to travel to Meteor. FF4 you could go to the moon. Be quite nice if Garleans discovered space travel.
I really think Odin is sealed inside Dalmund.

I don't know why but it always seems to me like it's the big red ball in the opening CS that all the primals kept flying from when it exploded (or something like that, go watch the opening CS again)
I find this just amazing XD spoiler alert
http://xivpads.com/-up/i/ffxivgame%2...4-55-47-95.png
The ball the primals fly out of doesn't look very red to me XD
And, I think I recall reading somewhere in game that the primals require Aether-energy from the crystals to keep a connection with this world. Perhaps the destruction of either the engine on the ship, or the dragon, released a large amount of this energy which enabled multiple primals to come into the world at once.
They have to change what the npc's say around the towns. When the moon turns into a red ball of death, you talk about it
Make me remember this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNg7pwqIVf4
So from the welcome back campaign we see the line
"In the dark the crystal waits dreaming"
This says to me that the crystal is in someway conscious. That it is capable of thought.
We also suspect that the Allagan's either did something to Dalamud or altered it in some way. (Cid calls it a satellite I think.)
In one of the concept art photos the text was translated as "Aetheryte that cannot be used, to show that it cannot be used it is red"
Long ago the Allagan empire discovered the power of the Aetheryte, but they could not harness this power because the aetheryte was a conscious living force. Either they had moral misgivings about using it or they simply couldn't. So they extracted the consciousness from the aether (Pulled it's brain out so to speak) and put it on Dalamud, or made Dalamud out of it.
Aetheryte that is alive is red, and can't be used. Dalamud used to be white, because it was either dead or just sleeping / unconsious for a long time after the Allagans split it up. Whenever the Garlean empire began project meteor they woke Dalamud up. They can't control where it lands because Dalamud is alive, and it's in control.
The primals are an unforseen side effect of extracting Dalamud's consciousness. The Allagan empire in the past was capable of defeating them, but due to the devastating effects of the umbral cycles they no longer exist, and an answer to the primals is not readily at hand. The Garleans, upon discovering this, believe that the only solution to stop the primals before they get out of control is to re-unite Dalamud with Eorzea.
My theory probably has quite a few flaws.
If you know of anything in game that directly invalidates it I'd like to know so I can try to revise.
I said the EXACT same thing in This thread right here
Best put on your deku mask
