All I know is Face 2 is the worst. Face 5 is great aside from the lip texture.
The team hasnt done anything to the CC since... never, so clearly we're just wishful thinking.
I never said it was the worst for everyone.
Edit: While I dont agree that yours looks better than 5, you did manage to make a good face 2, something I couldnt do(or perhaps because I was getting frustrated over other details I couldnt change.)
I've used Face #5 for 2 years. The skin texture around the eyes need work. The cracked upper lip needs slight work. And that's pretty much it for Face #5.
I always thought it was Highlander that people wanted fixed? Never seen a midlander that had a face needing help. Either way I'm not opposed to more facial options for people.
~~Good Luck.

Welcome to the graveyard guys
I just hope none of my older threads are revived.
People in this playerbase love to claim there's nothing wrong with the appearance or animations of the races... and yet most of those people play Mi'qote because of the care put on their faces and quality and expressiveness of their animation.
Races can be distinct without being offputting. No one can say with a straight face male Au'ra and Elezen animations look fine. Or Hrothgar stances. Or Midlander animations and face options.
Aside from Viera, Lalafel and Mi'qote, the design of every race in the game makes the bias against them extremely apparent.
I have a female Miqo'te among my various alts and I don't see any more care put into their models or animations than others. Maybe it's a design that more people find appealing, but that doesn't say anything for the quality of it – personally I find them one of the least interesting races I've played.
And yes I will say with a straight face that (at least not having played one) Hrothgar's stance looks fine for that particular character design. The hunch makes more sense than a beastlike race having a fully human body posture.
Some of the animations for other races can be gawky, but Miqo'te isn't perfect either. Their hip-swaying walk looks silly in cutscenes.
I don’t understand the hype behind them, besides the fact they’re cats. The faces are the same with almost no significant changes besides the tattoos on the cheeks.
That’s why they all look the same to me, same for female or even male Midlanders. Everybody takes the same face.
Female Roegadyns have similar issues with only 2 faces being alright, with one being overused even on NPCs. The rest are so bad they’re left to rot, or reserved for very goofy characters.
wait....you guys get 5 face options?
He has spoken up in defence of what other people have considered obvious trolls in the past – possibly including the original notorious one if I remember right. You may draw your own conclusions from that and the quality of his threads that have been bumped.
I was mostly thinking of the female miq’ote faces, they have 3 if memory serves me right and honestly barely any difference with 2 just being the same but with or without the cheeks tattoos.
For midlanders, indeed the difference is slightly there but honestly it’s very minor changes I can barely tell. Even for my retainer I chose Highlander because you can play more with the options. But I think I’ll just make her a roegadyn too. It’s funny to see my character who’s already tall, look up for big mommas roe.
Roegadyn is the best race for female characters, no contest. Punny cats, lizards and weak humans stand no chance against such greatness.
On a serious note, overall I think every race should be given a few more face options and customization. Full beards especially for males, because I know some miq’ote females want the full furry experience.
The face of these Hyur are "she hulk" category for me, but there are fans for everything.
That's why: Au'ra for life!
Mrs Manderville is quite a beauty. One of the very few.
Why she isn't anymore near the cactpot doing /sweat?
You all play midlander when the highlanders have beautiful faces and a muscle tone option?
What does someones face have to do with them being strong?
It's always so weird to me how people view this today because it doesn't line up with reality and history at all.
Back in the day being beautiful used to equate to being perceived as strong, I'd probably argue that this is the case in Asian media too still.
Great warriors and heroes were very rarely '' average '' or ugly they were beautiful.
The truth is ofc that your facial structure has literally nothing at all whatsoever to do with any of it and it's an entirely superficial way of looking at it based in stereotypes.
Au Ra's don't have nostrils, they have a dead stare & look like they have Papier-mâché plastered on to imitate scales
2 Female Miqo'te Keeper of the moon faces look unrendered & you can see the pixels on their face stripes
Elezen look like unpainted mannequins that were forgotten about
Male Highlanders have no eyebrows
Many of the hairstyles are flat, boring or short & spikey anime protagonist
Face paint/ make-up only allows you to choose 1 option
We can only pick gloss for lipstick & the gloss dulls the colour of the lips often & looks disgustingly metallic in certain lighting
There are options in character creator, but they're not great & I wonder if Yoshi-P knows how much people want character creator to be updated.
Everyone just ends up looking the same to the point you can grab a handful of the same gender/ race in XIV & there'd be nothing unique between them.
All in all, every race needs a big touch up- the character creator in FFXIV is outdated.
Why does it feel like it's always the Miqo'te that post on every single forum saying "WHAT ABOUT ALLLLLL RACES, MINE EXIST TOOO" - some races need a touch up more than others, why dont we just start with one race at a time considering some need the rework more than others instead of demanding everyone gets the same treatment.
Has anyone here ever played Aion? I miss the Aion character creator :(

You could do some amaaaaaazing stuffs with it! If something like this were only possible I would be most happy.
I played Aion. If it's the game with the creation tools I'm thinking of, I recall people creating some truly freakish characters with disproportionately long legs and truly bizaar faces. Sometimes a lot of customization isn't a good thing.
