Genius post!! I'm al for balconies in general!!! in appartments and M/L houses SHOULD have balconies anyway!
I also think offering gathering up to all players would solve a lot of problems... I think in general gardening and housing are very seperate from each other, and the gamers should have the option of doing them seperately

Instance the plots themselves so:
1. Every plot can have many owners. This increases the chance of seeing more players in the neighborhood, since they will all be in one "ward", not spread across 21 of them.

2. Eliminate the multiple wards, since they're not needed with instanced plots.

4. Your plot is always loaded when you arrive. No load screens when entering the yard or house. Other plots would cause load screens on entry since preloading them all would probably take too much time. Still, selected yard appearances would have to preload so you'd see them when outside.

5. Since the house and plot are one instance, you could have real windows, open doors to walk out onto a patio / deck with no load screen.

6. Ideally, when in your yard you should be able to see everyone on the street (Assuming it's possible to code it.)

Of course, everyone would just buy copies of the most desirable plots, but it could be spread out by raising the prices of ones with many owners, and reducing the price of the others.

One problem though: With many more house owners, SE would need to add more storage to hold the content, and pay to maintain it. I suppose they could make it so everyone can buy one small plot for just Gil, but larger ones (containing more stuff) would add to your sub fee (like extra retainers).

This entire post is genius, I wonder how hard it would be to program all that!

When you log out... I would really like it if I can still be in my house when I log back in (like when you log out while in an inn)

They have been able to add a house storage and extend the items slots available. Technically, I tend to think their problem are the queries and the dynamic memory to load the wards (because of the items from the indivudual gardens).

The only problem with your idea is not the the static memory. From what I understand in programming, they probably need to rewrite a lot of things if not everything from scratch.

Based on what we already have, if would be far easier, cheaper and faisible to adapt apartments to add a greenhouse and offer different size (they can adapt the design of existing housing instances, all they need to change, for the main part, are windows.

I'm not into houses at this time, since I can't stand having my camera pushed in from max distance. The interiors are just too claustrophobic..
However, if I could just fill my plot with garden patches and a small shed for storing some related items, I'd definitely go for it.

Full ward of medium houses. Make it happen yoshi-p!
