not again...
I don't know what I find worse, the complete lack of a bulge or the lack of nipples?
I mean, I could see SE not wanting to add bulges, even if I find it ridiculous. And changing old models is additional work they may not want do invest.
But nipples? It's no problem with age ratings at all and is little work, just changing like a handful textures. Probably done in less than 30 mins and would already help making the characters look less like dolls.
No thank you, we don't need to make this game like every other shit mmo out there.
Well fret not, my ignorant friend! They will never put a bulge slider in game- you’ll get a swimsuit bottom with a static something down there at best, and that’ll be that for your digital peen. No need to worry about your irl one falling off because you saw a catgirl packing heat.
Not gonna lie, sliders give me anxiety. I'd usually rather have to choose from couple preset sizes than have sliders, cause I'll get anxious over getting that perfect bulge size. There's too much nuance with sliders D:
When this subject comes up, it always reminds me of Spinal Tap

It’s quite frightening!
Then you're supporting a double standard. Female avatars are currently allowed to both be anatomically correct AND have a slider to embiggen the emboobens... but male avatars are not allowed to even be represented in a modest and anatomically correct manner, nevermind allowed to seriously even ask for any sort of slider to adjust for size.
I'm not saying a slider is necessary, quite the opposite. I am saying that the current male avatars are flat as Ken Dolls and they shouldn't be. They shouldn't look like eunuchs.
Um. No. This is Final Fantasy XIV, not Saint's Row. Some people just need to give FFXIV a break and play other games
Women in general have bigger butts than men. It's no different that men being generally taller. That's just basic anatomy. Accusing the devs of being "afraid of the male figure" is pure projection
Male butts SHRINK wearing 2B's underwear. We go from Ken dolls to Hank Hill in those things.
In a semi serious note though, that double standard has existed since forever - "nobody cares" about male customizations or looks because of the notion that it's gaaaaay to try to make a male character look good or attractive in any way [specially if the player is also male], while simultaneously making females look as beautiful and/or customizable as the engine allows them to. One wouldn't be wrong to think most game devs are indeed self conscious - or at the very least biased - against the male form in general, not just their nonexistent junk /shrug
Y'all need to take these pills.

Yoshida has already said no more lewd stuff. If you use those "tools" to make your toons look more sexually pleasing. keep the watermark off it.
If you wanna lewd game so bad go make an account on Second Life.
Sorry, but seeing an NPC in a serious scene showing off a bulge or camel toe is a little off-putting and awkward. (I know mods are client-side, I mean more so IF it was not client-side, you know?)
Males having something other than a flat surface in the groin area is not "lewd". It's a biological fact of male anatomy. It doesn't need a slider, and it doesn't need to be gratuitously, large but there should be something there. A simple modest indication that the character is, in fact, a male, is not lewd.
Oh no! I'm so offended! What ever will I do? Move on with my life because this is a game and I couldn't care about having a bulge in a video game. Thanks for the direct insults though. Shows how thin skinned you are about a strangers opinion on the internet. GLHF. :)
Children, don't make me turn this topic around.
In the end it doesn't matter. Even in movies, directors and editors always hide that male crotch because for some rewson it is so tempting that people can't stop watching it when you bring it in front of them.
Let's be honest, even if the male population were smaller than female population, it is the dominant in many things. Males would prefer to see changes in female anatomy and if possible make the male anatomy invicible. This is why there are many details and accessories for females.
The momeny men stary to pay the slightest attention to the male anatomy, they feel or consider themselves gay...but because females were groom to pay attention to themselves to satisfy males it is encouraged to the point that male workers do the same. The dev team in this game and many other places are an example of this problem.
Hmmm I can see that being the case for some people, but many others I think want to immerse themselves and to some extend role play in a RPG. They want to feel like they ARE those characters. I'd assume most hetero males for example wouldn't want to BE a female, so immersing themselves and role playing as a female character would not satisfy them.
Often you'd want your character to have exaggerated features (e.g. muscle tone, figure) so you can feel good about role playing as such person.
With "role playing" I basically mean personal immersion, not social role playing.
More than immersing to be THAT character, it has to do to make a more realistic representation.
Female characters have boobs that can be modify to a smaller or larger size in a modest escalate. Male characters deserver the same. Many people qho gets teigger with respect to the male crotch poibt out that is too lewd. It is dunb to think that way. Dev team sgould stop giving us excuses of but we are males and don't know nor want to think about it. They even consider the leg of a man too lewd. We can't even have a normal short. They are too long or extremely short that makes it weird (which make them compared to female fashion) or juat make pants which is too much. I would ask to make more female outfits normal. There are too many lewd outfits out there that make other think that female players wants to be represented in such a way.

Any sliders that is affecting the in-game armour models are never going to be implemented.
There are too many items and races that would need to be adjusted in order to make it look reasonable. Hence why butt slider is never going to come either.
Except for the fact that some armor provides alterations to various parts of the female model, either making them bigger or smaller depending on the piece or pieces. This is despite having a bust slider already in place. You can't say that sliders are affecting the in game armor models, because the devs ignore them anyway 99% of the time. lol That being said, armor providing said enhancements (like the 2b legs for example) is likely all we are going to get moving forward, which is better than nothing in regards to character customization. Male characters will likely continue to receive little to nothing outside of a muscle slider. This is fine by me, truly, but I wouldn't exactly call it fair.
I may be wrong, but those size alternations that occur on glamours during the animation are hard coded into animations themselves.
That probably means SE needs to adjust every single piece, on every single race and for every single animation, because the armor woouldnt behave on itself with character movement due to the lack of physics implemented into the game engine. So that means if you move your character a bit with a flying piece of gear notice how animation is the same all the times. Im pretty sure their game engine barely has any physics implemented into the armor and any sort of size changes, wiggles or giggles need to be modeled and implemented manually into the game. Probably its done that way to make the game run smoothly on the consoles by reducing the amount of processing power needed to run the game, even more im pretty convinced PS3 CPU was the reason it is done that way not another, since it would require really a ton of code to make physics run properly on that console with its cell architecture.
Thats why its never going to happen, SE would have to adjust hundreds of items multiplied by the number of races, since races do not share same item model and needs exclusive adjustments for each race or change the game engine altogether which would require even more work.
This topic again? Guys, a bulge slider not going to happen. It's too difficult.
What we will get is gear which "enhances" features. S.E. already have released gear which has done this. You need to look no further than 2B's leg gear.
Not on men, we get our already flat posteriors shrunk even further ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But yeah, 2B's outfit is meant for females so I don't really care about it, but it does proof that gear can be modeled to give better* butts and groin areas soooo....
[*By better I don't mean some noticeable melon between the legs (THAT is lewd), just don't make it a perfect 90' curve, it's weird]
I’m honestly shocked at the amount of people crying “iNsEcUrE” or “tHiNk aBoUt tHe chILdReN” lol. I personally am not against either gender having more modified items like 2B bottoms or sliders. And if that bothers you, or offends you, I think that shows how insecure you are. Not the people wanting it.
First world problems.
Ehhh... I'm not sure anyone would even see the bulges if they were implemented anyways, most people keep the camera far back and it's rare anyone even sees the front of their character in active play, not to mention that it'd be absolutely covered up by armor and stuff with the sole exception being swimsuits and bikini armor. Like don't get me wrong, I am ALL about character customization being improved since the current system is akin to picking 1 of 4 faces and 1 of 4 features and choosing color from a palette instead of a wheel, doesn't help that the actual size adjusts just don't really matter anyways since tits and ass get squished or inflated depending on the armor you're wearing.
Especially for caster classes that pretty much always have some kind of dress/skirt/robe that just covers everything up...
I'd much rather they fix the game engine to have some kind of physics system and just get rid of console compatibility entirely, the game is immensely hamstrung by the engine shortcomings and the archaic reliance to keep it running on entirely outdated hardware, but that won't happen, SE is making bank on FFXIV and they can barely manage to actually fix their 2 new races 8 months after release. Their system is so horrific to work on they can't even adjust existing content to suit the new races, there's a smattering of applicable helm items, 0 preexisting hair models, Hrothgar are a mangled mess, Viera ears are apparently tied to helmets in some way, and the base model of every single race has slippers on because the engine can't handle slightly adjusting height for shoes...
I can't imagine how badly the bulge slider would be implemented even if they did try to do it.
